About Iain and Josie Hamilton-Cook

Iain works as a teacher and Josie runs her own food development business. We moved to the Lincolnshire Wolds 10 Years ago as it was so beautiful and unspoilt, an idyllic place to bring up our daughter. It felt as though we were on holiday living there and we decided other people would enjoy it just as much. We started by opening Byford Lodge, which offered luxury living in the heart of Louth. This quickly gained Visit England's highest award of 5 Star Gold status. We love offering people the chance to experience a high quality holidays in luxurious surroundings.

Iain and Josie Hamilton-Cook purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Iain and Josie Hamilton-Cook chose England

We got the same feel when we saw Orford Farm Cottages as we did when we first saw our house. When we purchased the cottage it may have needed complete renovation however it had the most important thing....Location, Location, Location. Peace, tranquility and a view to die for! It was only 15 minutes to our house in Louth yet felt like a million miles away.

What makes this cottage unique

Peace, tranquility, 360 degree views of the Lincolnshire wolds. Luxury home from home.

Wonderful and relaxing stay in a beautiful property

  • 4 of 5

Welcome hamper was an appreciated surprise with wine, home made bread and cake with milk also chilling in the fridge. This property has been finished to a very high standard and well equipped. Everything was thought of for in our trip even home made meals in the freezer to purchase if required. Log fire with starter pack was wonderful and set the ambience at night. Throughout luxurious with decor and furnishing. Spotlessly clean. Enjoyed our meals in the orangery looking at the view of the village. Relaxing break and enjoyed being near to the coast for fresh air and dog walk. Highly recommend to our friends and family

First Class

  • 5 of 5

Lovely outlook and really top class hotel experience but with a self catering slant. The provision of little extras and a welcome pack plus the ability to order some home cooked meals really separates this from the rest. Can only hope that the owners have all the success they deserve for all the hard work attention to detail and care they have lavished on this property. Its also a lovely part of England too.

Absolute Gem

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here to go to see Jess Glynne at Market Rasen Racecourse. Arrival instructions and directions were spot on. Lovely welcome hamper on arrival. The cottage is immaculate and very well furnished. We had an amazing couple of nights here and will be returning in the near future. Have recommended to family and friends. Thank you Josie and Iain!

5* home in amazing surroundings. Everything we needed to make out trip special.

We have just returned from a 4 day stay at this amazing cottage in the Lincolnshire Wolds with my parents and toddler son.

Before our arrival the communication with owners, Iain and Josie were very easy and we found them most accommodating. Upon our arrival we couldn't believe the high standard and quality of the accommodation we had booked to stay at.

We found the cottage to be decorated to an extremely modern and hi-spec standard but it was also very warm, welcoming and comfortable. The information pack left by the owners said that they had renovated it from a very poor state of repair, if that is the case then they deserve a medal for what they have created- a place which gave us an amazing stay throughout. My mother is still telling people, at every opportunity, about how immaculately clean the place is.

The welcome pack and hamper left by Josie was just one example of how the owners have gone above and beyond our expectations during the stay. We didn't meet Iain or Josie, only spoke briefly on the telephone but I must say I found them very friendly, easy going and a pleasure to deal with.

During our short stay we did not find ourselves in need of anything as the cottage was very well equipped. Josie, being a self-confessed foodie had even gone to the effort of preparing food which was for sale from the freezer. We did not make use of any on this occasion but I'm sure that if our stay had been longer it would have been very useful. It looked and sounded delicious.

The area we found to be quite amazing. We had never visited the Lincolnshire Wolds. I think it's a shame that such a beautiful place is not as well known as it should be as we found it to be just as beautiful as other, more well known, parts of the country. There was always plenty to do for us and the little one and it was only a short drive from the cottage to many attractions (a few of which we visited) as well as the seaside. The cottage is just a short walk from the nearest village which we found had a lovely pub so, of course, we had to visit on Sunday afternoon.

The only negative I can honestly say from the whole trip was that we wished we had booked to stay longer but unfortunately I had to make it back home in time for work.

Thank you Iain and Josie for a truly amazing family break.
