Vault Cottage

One of three newly converted stylish homes converted recently from an ex rural Bank. Entrance via a foyer into spacious Lounge leading into Kitchen and Utility/Storage to the left and access to under stairs cupboard to the right. Stairs lead up to sleeping first floor, with family bathroom with shower over bath, first bedroom has king size bed and new oak furniture and door leading to Roof Top Garden, second bedroom again with new oak furniture.

It has a new Kitchen, Bathroom, furniture & decor, giving a very smart and comfortable home for up to two couples or a family of five (including an infant). Everything in the property is new and the highest quality designed to give our guests a happy and luxurious stay. The Roof Top Garden is a stunning feature, with a sunny and private aspect with lovely scenic views over the surrounding rooftops and neighbouring hills.

No. 3 is just down a Lane off the Market Place, whilst close to amenities it is very quiet and peaceful.

The Counting House

Recently converted from what was once a large well known rural Bank, McLaren Holiday Cottages are three holiday homes offering spacious fully equipped and luxuriously furnished accommodation for up to four adults or family of four plus baby. All have new Kitchens, Bathrooms and furniture & fittings. Everything in each home is new and the highest quality, including luxury bed linen and towels for your stay, the kitchens all have new appliances and new crockery/cutlery and are fully equipped to satisfy any cook. Entertainment is provided by Smart TV/DVD with freeview and wifi.

All bedrooms are spacious with matching oak furniture, choice of single/double/king size beds,luxury bedding and tasteful decor.

Bank View looks out on to the ancient stone cross at the Market Place, set out colourfully with flower tubs.

The Counting House, in the middle, makes a perfect home to relax in after exploring our wonderful countryside.

Vault Cottage has a completely private rooftop garden with views over the rooftops of Belford and surrounding hills, ideal for alfresco dining, enjoying the sunshine or just relaxing, the outdoor furniture is most comfortable. We have a smart TV and wifi. There is also a communal locked storage area, ideal for storing cycles, etc. available to all homes.

Situated just off the Market Place down a quiet lane, McLaren Cottages are ideal for enjoying the hostelry of local restaurants and bars and thanks to the thick stone walls well insulated from any noise outside and our English weather.

We hope to provide our guests with the luxury of a hotel and the freedom of self catering in these delightful homes.

Every guest receives a Welcome Pack on arrival which includes tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and a selection of local products.

We are also flexible on arrival and departure times depending upon how busy we are.

Notes on accommodation: We completed conversion works in January 2015, therefore all furnishings and facilities are brand new, purposely purchased for this property. Outside: Fully private roof top garden furnished with high quality rattan dining set with foot stools/additional seating to a maximum of 8 persons. Gas BBQ Utility Room: Tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and bed linen are provided but not beach towels. The property is cleaned once per week and bed linen changed once per week. Mid-week linen change available on request at extra cost. Other: Safe provided for guest's use. Along with iron and ironing board.

Beautiful appartment in great location

A lovely property, very well equipped with stylish decor. We loved the roof top terrace ! Belford is a great location for exploring this region, there is so much to see and the coastline is stunning. Jacqui the owner was great , nothing was too much trouble and she gave us lots of helpful advice.

Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely, well equipped and spacious accommodation, well situated with 3 pub/restaurants and Co-op on the doorstep. Comfortable bed, decent shower. All you could ask for really !

Great property in ideal location

We had a great time staying in this property. It is centrally located in Belford - ideal for both beaches and travelling inland. The property has a well equipped kitchen, good size living room and two bedrooms upstairs. The property is in good condition throughout. We were very grateful for the welcome pack Jackie left for us. The roof terrace is a great space if the weather allows! We will return again.

Home from home, in a perfect location for exploring Northumberland.

This cottage is an absolute gem of a place in a perfect location. Literally a few minutes away from the A1, but you can't hear traffic noise, even when lounging on the excellent roof terrace at night. Most of the tourist places are under 30 mins away.

The cottage is very well equipped and teenager happy with internet speeds (essential!). No dishwasher but you'll be eating out every night so pot washing not a burden! Every room is exceptionally clean and very well furnished.

There's a co-op close by for all your essentials and The Black Swan and The Salmon are good pub-grub places to eat but special mention for Sunnyhills Farm Shop. A 10 minute stroll through the village will get you to this excellent restaurant. As mentioned in other reviews we had breakfast there on the last day before the long trek home,

The owner Jacqui was very welcoming and easily contactble for any query.

Thoroughly would recommend this cottage but we wouldn't want to find it booked up for our next visit!

Why Jacqui McLaren chose Belford

The vacant Barclays Bank building was purchased in 2013 and has been converted into 3 luxury holiday homes to a very high standard. They are ideally situated for the local amenities and offer any visitor a good base for exploring our County and the immediate area.

What makes this house unique

The properties are convenient for local amenities but in a quiet area. Bank View offers spacious surroundings, peace and quiet whilst still looking out on to the Market Place. The Roof Top Garden in Vault Cottage gives a private sheltered area for dining or just relaxing. It also offers views over the surrounding roof tops and local hills.
