The Counting House
Recently converted from what was once a large well known rural Bank, McLaren Holiday Cottages are three holiday homes offering spacious fully equipped and luxuriously furnished accommodation for up to four adults or family of four plus baby. All have new Kitchens, Bathrooms and furniture & fittings. Everything in each home is new and the highest quality, including luxury bed linen and towels for your stay, the kitchens all have new appliances and new crockery/cutlery and are fully equipped to satisfy any cook. Entertainment is provided by Smart TV/DVD with freeview and wifi.
All bedrooms are spacious with matching oak furniture, choice of single/double/king size beds,luxury bedding and tasteful decor.
Bank View looks out on to the ancient stone cross at the Market Place, set out colourfully with flower tubs.
The Counting House, in the middle, makes a perfect home to relax in after exploring our wonderful countryside.
Vault Cottage has a completely private rooftop garden with views over the rooftops of Belford and surrounding hills, ideal for alfresco dining, enjoying the sunshine or just relaxing, the outdoor furniture is most comfortable. We have a smart TV and wifi. There is also a communal locked storage area, ideal for storing cycles, etc. available to all homes.
Situated just off the Market Place down a quiet lane, McLaren Cottages are ideal for enjoying the hostelry of local restaurants and bars and thanks to the thick stone walls well insulated from any noise outside and our English weather.
We hope to provide our guests with the luxury of a hotel and the freedom of self catering in these delightful homes.
Every guest receives a Welcome Pack on arrival which includes tea, coffee, sugar, biscuits and a selection of local products.
We are also flexible on arrival and departure times depending upon how busy we are.

The vacant Barclays Bank building was purchased in 2013 and has been converted into 3 luxury holiday homes to a very high standard. They are ideally situated for the local amenities and offer any visitor a good base for exploring our County and the immediate area.
What makes this house unique
The properties are convenient for local amenities but in a quiet area. Bank View offers spacious surroundings, peace and quiet whilst still looking out on to the Market Place. The Roof Top Garden in Vault Cottage gives a private sheltered area for dining or just relaxing. It also offers views over the surrounding roof tops and local hills.

Preferred changeover day is a Saturday but may be flexible depending on time of year. The property would be available from 3.00pm on day of arrival and we request guests depart by 10.00am. However we can be flexible depending upon frequency of bookings.

Fabulous apartment in great location
The apartment is located in the centre of Belford village, so easy access to shop, a variety of pubs and a superb fish and chips shop. Despite the central location, there's plenty of parking available right outside the property. The apartment is huge and immaculately clean. It's well furnished with modern appliances and everything you need in the kitchen for your stay. Beds are comfy with quality bedding and mattresses. The roof terrace was an added bonus but December weather meant we couldn't make the most of it! The hosts are friendly and helpful and I'd have no hesitation in recommending this property - we'll likely book again!
Wonderful place to stay
Beautifully equipped and very well decorated - super job Craig! Enjoyed the welcome pack and information book. Everything clean, bathroom shower super, lots of hot water, king size bed, great kitchen, washing machine and dryer, fab place to stay and enjoy the local area, good pubs and eating places within walking distance. Would recommend this property to everyone. Thank you.

Perfect location for discovering the coast of Northumberland. With a home from home feel, we settled very quickly. Alnwick in one direction, Berwick in the other, we found that we were able to see so much in a short time.
We will definitely be back. I will be recommending this place to my friend and family. Thank you for having us, we have had a great week.
Very Good, would definately return
Had a lovely week here at Vault Cottage, unfortunately the weather wasn't very kind to us. Jacqui was there to welcome us and show us around. Lovely welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and the most delicious shortbread, also a couple of tickets for a reduction on entry to Alnwick Gardens which unfortunately we were unable to use. The cottage was ideal, right in the centre of Belford, parking in the square was never a problem. We visited some lovely villages and did a tour right down the coast from Berwick upon Tweed as far as Amble. Even managed a trip into Scotland to Kelso which was very nice. Would love a return visit to see the places that we missed. Great communication from Jacgui at all times by email or mobile phone.

What a great place to stay
We really enjoyed staying in Vault Cottage. The flat is spotless and very well equipped, as well as being tasteful, modern and very agreeably spacious. Highly recommended! Jacqui is a wonderful host. Great location to explore the local area.
Excellent House and Lovely Area
The House we stayed in was excellent, they had thought of everything. The living room is a big size and the sofa is very comfortable. There is a big TV with freeview so in the evenings when our daughter was asleep we could relax downstairs and watch some TV, it also has a built in DVD player so you can bring some DVD's along with you as well to watch.
The kitchen was really nice but being an old bank it's unfortunately not got any windows so it you can never tell what time of day it is when you are in there.
The bedrooms were fantastic and the beds were very soft and we all slept very well on them. The bathroom was very clean and comfortable.
Overall a fantastic holiday and we were very lucky with the weather!

Award winning Northumbrian Coastline 10 minutes away by car. Award winning sandy beaches ideal for long walks, swimming and water sports. Also Northumberland Coastal Path.
Newcastle International Airport 50 miliels and Edinburg International Airport 7050 miles. Newcastle Port of Tyne is approx. 50 miles. East Coast Mainline station at Berwick upon Tweed is 15 miles. Local direct bus service between Berwick upon Tweed and Newcastle upon Tyne hourly both directions.
Use of a car is recommended but not essential.

Outside: Fully private roof top garden furnished with high quality rattan dining set with foot stools/additional seating to a maximum of 8 persons. Gas BBQ Utility Room: Tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and bed linen are provided but not beach towels. The property is cleaned once per week and bed linen changed once per week. Mid-week linen change available on request at extra cost. Other: Safe provided for guest's use. Along with iron and ironing board.
