About Karan

My husband and I have owned Irton Manor for approximately 10 years, we have spent a lot of time bringing the estate up to the standard it is today and we would love to share it with you. Our gardens are beautiful and the house is comfy and spacious and with so much to do on the estate you could spend all your time here.

Karan purchased this chateau / country house in 2007

Why Karan chose Scarborough

We have lived in the area for most of our lives and when the property came up for sale we had to buy it even though we had to spend 2 years renovating it to the standard it is today, entering the gates you feel that at the end of the drive there is a special house. The peace and quite at Irton is very relaxing but it is just a short drive into Scarborough.

What makes this chateau / country house unique

Irton Manor has 6 spacious bedrooms (5 south facing with 4 ensuites, 1 bedroom West facing with ensuite shower room), 3 further bedrooms are situated in the Annex which has an indoor corridor linking it to the Manor which means we can accommodate up to 18 guests. Irton Manor is very convenient to the town, beaches and moors yet with all the facilities we have on site you may wish to stay within our 35 acres and enjoy the estate.

first class!

  • 5 of 5

Our third Easter Break to Irton Manor and it has just been as amazing as the first!

We were expecting a wet 10 days, however have been extremely lucky with the weather.

The Manor is just as we remember and left it last year and the upkeep of the house and grounds always being immaculate which is a credit to Karen and The Team.

While revisiting old favourites like Flamingo Land and Scarborough Arcades we have also managed to find new places to explore and things to do – The beautiful village of Thornton Le Dale and the fantastic cafe + Ice cream parlour to the NYMR from Pickering to Whitby, through Heartbeat country + Harry Potter World!

A fantastic stay all round… again we will be back!!

Thank you Karan, Paul, Karen and The Team.

Most amazing house we have ever stayed in.....!

  • 5 of 5

We have just arrived back from a Bank Holiday surprise 40th Birthday weekend for my wife.

Where to was incredibly easy with loads of contact from Karen throughout.

On arrival the house is simply stunning. Walking down the central corridor, it's as if all the carpets and decor are all brand new, there wasn't a dirty mark or speck of dust anywhere, the cleaners deserve an award. The attention to detail is remarkable, every utensil or item we wanted was provided and not just cheap items they were all top quality.

The bedrooms oozed luxury too, we stayed in the master bedroom, with adjustable firmness mattress, pop up T.V., Dressing room, TV in the bath, rainfall shower etc the list goes on..!

The swimming pool is amazing too, very warm and welcoming, with two sets of changing rooms and toilets no less...!

The gardens are to die for, our children loved running around in the sun (we had a lucky 26 degree weekend). Everyone played golf at the private 5 hole course and a few dabbled with tennis too in the great private court, we passed on the croquet as we didn't know the rules.

Behind the tennis court there is another secret sunken garden with two mini waterfalls, it is so beautiful.........!

If you want luxury and attention to detail this place is well worth the money...!

Thank you to Karen and the owners who left some birthday presents for my wife. Chocolates and bubbly are always a good start to the weekend.....!

Absolutely Beautiful 5*+ Property

  • 5 of 5

I can only reiterate what others say about this beautiful property. It is stunning. We were 3 generations of family, from 2 to 60, on a short break to celebrate our various birthdays. The only time we left the house was to walk a few yards down the road to the Garden Centre. There was so much to entertain everyone in the house from the games room to the large indoor pool. The house was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. The stunning kitchen had every conceivable item you could think of for both adults and children, even down to a children's thermometer to check our granddaughters temperature when she was unwell. Outdoor gardens were beautiful with lots to investigate. Karen was extremely helpful before and during our stay. We also received a thoughtful gift on arrival. As lovely as they are, the pictures of the property on the website cannot do it enough justice, the house in reality is better and we would love to return again. It is the most beautiful home we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. Thank you to all at Irton Manor for a lovely weekend in a 5* plus home.

Excellent house, ideal for family gatherings

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay as an extended family over the New Year period. The house and facilities are 5 star. The helpful and hospitable owners and staff have thought of everything. The house is beautiful and so well equipped. The kids loved the pool, games room and exploring in the grounds. The house is very large providing enough space for people to relax alone or be together. We loved our time relaxing here and we will most certainly be returning. Thank you!

Stunning property!

  • 5 of 5

Family holiday (3 generations) to celebrate a special birthday. We hardly left the property as there was so much to entertain everyone. Facilities were all brand new and immaculately clean. Every room was decorated beautifully. Outdoor gardens were stunning and so many parts to investigate. Location was excellent for visiting the area. Shops and supermarkets very close. Karen was extremely helpful before our stay and was available throughout if we needed anything. Welcome gift on arrival was really thoughtful. The property was even better than the pictures and description on the website. Would definitely return - best place we have stayed!

Five Star Plus

  • 5 of 5

The award of 5 gold stars plus the Gold Award from Visit England is a well earned and a more than justified reflection of the standards set at Irton Manor. Had I been able to select a star rating of higher than five for this review I would have done so.

The excellent web site illustrates the rooms, facilities and grounds at Irton Manor and Courtyard Cottage. However, when we initially walked around the property and grounds our high expectations were exceeded. The reality is even better than the photographs.

The properties are immaculately clean and are furnished to an extremely high standard. The attention to detail is amazing and the owners and staff are welcoming, friendly and supportive. A special thanks to Karen for her assistance in helping us make our stay so special.

My family of fourteen plus my eight week old great granddaughter stayed for a week and had a fabulous time. We used the swimming pool, golf course, tennis court, games room and karaoke and went for walks through the intriguing woods and beautiful gardens. There is so much on offer at Irton Manor and we all felt so comfortable and relaxed that we were not inclined to visit the many other attractions in the immediate vicinity.

Having stayed at many large properties for family holidays in the UK, I have no hesitation in stating that this is the best. We shall return next year and I have recommended Irton Manor to friends who will also visit in the near future.

It was a privilege to stay at Irton Manor and I would recommend anyone who appreciates quality and is looking for the wow factor to book it.
