Why Peter Groom and Claire Webster chose La Cala de Mijas

We walked into this apartment and was immediately struck by the view. It is on the top floor so the vista is pretty spectacular. It is about 40m from the beach and the complex has a gate straight onto the beach.

There are a couple of bars nearby and La Cala town centre is about a 10 minute walk along on the beach. The local council have laid a walkway so you don't have to walk on the sand if you don't want to.

La Cala town has lots of bars and restaurants, serving all kinds of cuisines. We like the area because it does not have skyscrapers or office blocks so the place is relaxed and the people are really friendly.

What makes this apartment unique

Apart from the view (have I mentioned that it is fantastic?) just in front of the apartment is one of two private pools for the complex and there is parking (behind gates) in the basement.

We have put in a new kitchen, new lighting, Internet, Wifi, digital TV etc.

A 2 minute walk away in Torre Nueva is a small supermarket, and a few excellent restaurants (including an Indian).

Outside: Shared pool visible from balcony and another is around the back of the block. Private secure parking. Shared gardens. Balcony furniture (table and chairs)provided. Overhead awning fitted to give shade over the balcony, if desired. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The apartment is cleaned and the bedding changed before each new tenant arrives. There is a washing machine so tenants can do laundry if they wish.

Amazing location

Pros - The apartment is in an ideal location about 10 minutes walk from most of the bars and restaurants.

You could hear the sea from the balcony of the apartment, gardens were very well maintained although lacked available sun beds. Out of the garden onto the beach, beautiful

Cons - a little tired inside, could do with a better range of bedding/tableware and a resolution to the incessant ant issue.

All in all we had a very enjoyable vacation.

Well equipped & spacious apartment with great sea views

We spent a week in this lovely apartment, great front line location with easy access along the broad walk to the centre of La Cala de Mijas and other resorts to the west. The apartment has two spacious bedrooms and two fully fitted bathrooms with great showers. The kitchen is fully fitted with all the appliances you would need. Wi Fi worked well from the go and we loved spending time on the balcony with a glass of wine! The heated pool area was clean and well maintained. There are bus stops very close to the resort so we didn't need a car to get around. The area has loads of really nice restaurants and tapas bars to choose from. The only slight downside is that the main road runs close to the beach so there is some road noise, however being front line more than compensates for this. Overall we had a great time and would not hesitate to book the apartment again when we return to La Cala de Mijas. Paul & Shirley

La Cala Mijas Costa

Lovely apartment and great location. Beach by the apartment beautiful. Ate well, good restaurants. Spanish prices now comparable with UK, used to be much cheaper. Main resort now very busy, couldn't park anywhere, locally though no problem. Gardens and public areas very well maintained. Only minor downsides were lack of info regarding directions to apartment, took us ages to locate our apartment. We did report broken loungers provided in apartment to agent- only one usable and there were 4 adults but no action was taken.

Unfortunately, although we do attempt to remedy concerns immediately, we were unable to find suitable replacement sun loungers during your visit. Apologise for any inconvienence that this may have caused. With regards to parking, there is private parking available within the complex. It is unfortunate that you were not made aware of this during your stay. I have reminded the agent to ask whether visitors do have a car upon their arrival, so that she can provide them with the access fob for the gate. Thank you for drawing this to our attention. With regards to the location of the office, I will review the information we currently provide to our guests prior to arrival, to ensure that locating the office is made easier for future visitors. Stunning views and location

We have just returned from a 10 night stay at this apartment and it was absolutely fantastic. The views from the balcony are absolutely stunning and it is just literally a 2 minute walk to the beach. It is a leisurely 10 - 15 minute walk into La Cala centre (which has some fantastic bars and restaurants). The apartment complex is very secure and this apartment has it's own parking space - we were golfing whilst here so this was a must for us. The apartment itself is very spacious and has everything you need. We will definitely be visiting again

superb location with lovely sea views

Just returned from a two week family holiday at this lovely apartment with fantastic sea and pool views, in a great location directly onto the boardwalk which takes you into La Cala town centre where there are many restaurants and bars, apartment was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed for our two week stay , we have stayed many times in La Cala and this is one of the best apartments we have stayed in. We would definitely recommend it.

As can be seen from the photographs, the property is about 40m from the beach, accessible via a gate. The beach has a walkway so you can walk into La Cala town.


The nearest airport is Malaga and a taxi takes about 25 minutes (we usually pay about 45 euros). In case the taxi driver does not know, tell them to take the Torre Nueva exit off of the A7. An alternate route is to take the train to Fuengirola (about 7 euros each) and then a taxi (10 minutes) from just outside Fuengirola station to the property which costs around 15 euros .


La Cala town is a 10 minute walk, Calahonda and Fuengirola are about 10 minutes by taxi and you can take a train to Malaga city centre (via the airport) from Fuengirola. Playa Mayor is an outlet shopping centre that is on the same train line and a short walk from its own station. There are a number of towns along the coast that you can visit via the train e.g. Benalmedina, Torremolinos etc.

Further Details:

There is a café at the front of the apartment block, run by Paco, who delights in trying to teach us Spanish. Local amenities are 2 minutes walk away (in Torre Nueva) and La Cala town is 10 min walk. La Cala has banks, supermarkets, local shops & restaurants.

Booking Notes:
30% non-refundable deposit secures the booking with the remainder to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival. For reservations made within 8 weeks of arrival, full payment is required at time of booking.

3 weeks no refund.

Changeover Day:
The rental period starts on a Saturday for the weekly tenants. There is flexibility with regards to monthly or longer period tenants. Energy/electricity is not included for monthly or longer period tenants. Access from 3pm departure by 10am.

Greater than 8 weeks in advance, a 30% non-refundable deposit and a signed contract, secures the booking. Then 8 weeks prior to arrival the balance is due. If the arrival date is less than 8 weeks away then the full amount is due, together with the signed contract, to secure the booking.
