Delightful, tastefully decorated and newly furnished 3 bedroom cottage. Located in a very quiet, pleasant cul de sac close to the Feversham Arms and a stone's throw from the historic centre of Helmsley, a delightful market town nestling in the foothills of the North Yorkshire Moors. Helmsley has excellent shops, cafes, restuarants and a weekly market. The local attractions of Rievaulx Abbey, Duncombe Park with the International Centre for Birds of Prey, Helmsley castle and walled gardens are all within walking distance of the property. This is a perfect location for visiting the surrounding areas of, Ryedale, York and the attractive North Yorkshire coastline including Robins Hood Bay and Whitby. In the summer months Helmsley benefits from an open air, heated swimming pool, just a 5 minute walk away from the property. At Kirbymoorside there is an 18 hole champion standard golf course. There are also Riding Schools located within Helmsley, Sinnington and further afield. The famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway is located in Pickering, 13 miles away, with regular steam trains to Whitby.

Fabulous property in a great area to explore

Really impressed by the quality and cleanliness of this property in Helmsley. It has everything you would need and is located less than 2 minutes walk from the centre of Helmsley which is itself a lovely village with plenty of great places to eat and drink. The enclosed rear garden was a real bonus. We will definately be staying again!

Great location, great place.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this very clean and comfortable cottage. A very well-equipped kitchen was the perfect place to return to after days spent buying beautiful produce from the lovely delis and bakeries in the area. Helmsley is a wonderful village with everything you need: shops, restaurants, a castle and even a spa. Would definitely bring my family here again.

Absolutely first class.

Very well appointed with plenty of appliances and utensils. Spotlessly clean. Comfortable beds. just a few minutes walk from the centre of the lovely old town of Helmsley which itself is ideally situated for exploring the North Yorks Moors and within easy reach of York (use the park and ride) and other towns.

Would thoroughly recommend.

Super cottage for holiday break

The cottage was spotlessly clean, comfortable and well-equipped, and in a very quiet location yet only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre. Helmsley itself is quaint with lovely shops, good cafes and restaurants and is located in stunning countryside. An ideal holiday let for country lovers.

The International Centre for Birds of Prey is situated in Duncombe Park only a short walking distance from the house. This is open daily from 1st February to 24 December 10am to 5.30pm (or dusk if earlier) There is the Helmsley Heated Open Air Swimming Pool also a short walk away. Helmsley Art Centre shows films and hosts Art Exhibitions. Slightly further afield is the Ryedale Folk Museum, Castle Howard, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Yorkshire Lavender, (open March to October 10am-5pm) and countless other attractions too numerous to mention. It goes without saying, that this is the most perfect spot to start out for the day walking close by from the house or up on the Yorkshire Moors . Stop for a relaxing lunch at the many pubs situated in the villages or take a picnic. A great way to unwind!

  • Notes on accommodation: Well behaved medium sized dogs are accepted (Max of 2) The furnishings in the house are all new and although we accept well behaved dogs, we expect them to be kept in the kitchen and utility room until they are completely dry and clean. It goes without saying that no dog may go on the furniture. No dog may go upstairs and no dog may be left in the house while you are out (Car please!) Any damage caused by your dogs will automatically come off your deposit! I am a dog lover and would hate to go on holiday without my dog, so please respect my wishes or dogs may not be allowed in the cottage in the future. Please inform us if you are bringing dogs. Outside: Easily maintained private garden with outdoor furniture, 2-3 car parking spaces in driveway. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble dryer, large freestanding fridge/freezer, wash baskets, iron and ironing board, hoover etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are provided, changed on a weekly basis unless requested otherwise Other: Dining Room, separate from Sitting Room with dining table and 6 chairs. There is a small tub chair in this room which may be moved into the sitting room if further seating is required.
