Once again, Mary and Drew made our week in Skye a truly memorable one! I cannot now imagine staying anywhere else on the island as their cottages are just amazing. If you are thinking of taking a trip to Skye don't continue looking for a lovely place to stay as you have found the best on the island right here. Thank you Mary and Drew once again for a wonderful holiday! See you next year!
“11/10 for pure magic!!”

A very big 'Thank You' to Drew, Mary and your family for giving us an opportunity to spend a week in such wonderful surroundings.
We have enjoyed some wonderful places to stay, and Mary's Cottages have to be in the highest category possible. They are exquisite.
We always travel up to Waternish, but this time we wanted to explore Elgol too. So began the search for quality accommodation. The website for these cottages is beautifully crafted, but it still doesn't compare with the feeling one gets upon arrival. Driving up to the stylish gates, and on to the cottages is an experience to be forever stored in one's memory.
The setting is stunning, with all four cottages having outstanding views down to Elgol and across to the Isles of Rum and Eigg. Not to mention the amazing drive from Broadford that takes you there.
We stayed in Tigh Phudraig (first on the right). If the location was amazing....see the cottage. It was impeccably clean and beautifully furnished with a taste that perfectly married the traditional with the contemporary. It was delightfully evocative of a time gone by. It was a privilege to be there...and we had a whole week!!!
Mary and Drew have made their dream come true by creating this heaven and choosing to share it with us. Hopefully, there will be another time when we can return to Mary's Cottages and delight in that dream.
“A dream come true.”

I had an amazing stay.not only do you drive 15 miles into dramatic scenery with breath taking views you then arrive at Mary's Cottages and it is a dream come true There was a fire lit and the underfloor heating was on which made us feel comfy straight away. There were flowers and a bottle of wine also waiting. Everything was spotless and very well presented Mary and Drew have impeccable taste. We were made to feel very welcome. They are such a lovely couple who we took to straight away. Thank you Mary and Drew for your kind hospitality in your own home also. I have never had such a heavy heart leaving a holiday. Both my husband and myself felt so sad to leave but that is the price for having an amazing holiday. Mary's Cottages feel good for the soul. A must is Coruisk House Opposite for that lovely touch for making you feel special.
From the Owner
“Over the years many people have asked us why we decided to rebuild the old ruins. The truth is that it goes all the way back to the point where Mary and I first met. Mary had some holidays from her nursing in Glasgow and headed home to South Uist to see her parents (to tell them all about this wonderful new boyfriend!). A few days later I received a postcard from Uist with a picture of a thatched cottage and a message saying that the small window was her room (I knew fine well they did not live in a thatched cottage but Mary will have you believe that I fell for her nonsense). Anyhow, upon Mary’s return I mentioned that there were ruined cottages on my Grandparents croft in Elgol on Skye and wouldn’t it be a novel idea to rebuild them. Well that was back in 1990.”
