Overview

Description

Garden Cottage Sleeps 2

This pretty cottage attached to a beautiful 17th century manor farmhouse has its own sheltered terrace and extensive informal garden with apple trees, old stone walls and pretty seating areas. The comfortable living room has wooden floors and a woodburner, and opens through to a dining area with French doors to the terrace. Steps lead down to a sunny galley kitchen which overlooks the owner's garden. Upstairs is a pretty attic bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

About the property

Fig Cottage & Garden Cottage

Fig Cottage and Garden Cottage are set in the beautiful grounds of a secluded 17th Century manor farmhouse hidden away at the end of its own lane and at the centre of 20 acres of farmland. Completely hidden from the road, the property is set in a small valley with a stream winding through the gardens, and consists of a group of beautiful old stone farm buildings around one of the prettiest houses in the area. The stunning North Devon coast and the Southwest Coast Path are a mile's walk away through fields and lanes and we are ideally placed for exploring North Devon and North Cornwall - Clovelly, Bude, Exmoor and the beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe are within easy reach, while the glorious beach at Westward Ho!, the pretty fishing village of Appledore and the historic port town of Bideford are on our doorstep. There are two pubs within walking distance

Guestbook comments from the owner

The perfect get away. This little gem is placed deep in a very peaceful part of the world. It is the perfect place to visit to recharge the batteries and enjoy the coast. There is so much to do, the coastal walks, the nearby beaches and the many little seaside towns in the area must be seen. The apartment itself is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The garden is a real treat, there is a little stream that runs through it. It catches so much sunshine. It really is a very idyllic place. Kate, you are an excellent host. Thank you.
