About Mrs Amanda Weller

,,Hello, just a small introduction, we are David and Amanda and we were married in 2008, we have 5 children and 5 grandchildren between us. When the last of them left home (in Hertfordshire) we decided to move to North Devon and start a new life, this is where we found our dream home: We did escape to the countryside! We live in the main house so we are nearby if you need anything (but out of the way if you don't :-) ). Phone us to have a chat, ask questions, book your escape 01805601606

We have now opened a small plants nursery which is open Sat & Sun 1pm - 5pm (only)

Mrs Amanda Weller purchased this barn in 2013

Why Mrs Amanda Weller chose Langtree

Hammas Farm is set in 10 acres of beautiful countryside. The main house was built around the 18th century although called a farm there are no animals at present. Hammas Farm and Barn are tucked away down a tree-lined winding tarmac drive, this is the ideal relaxing place you want to be. Your secluded get away is right here. Surrounded by nature, peace and quiet whether you are a dog walker, hiker, a sightseer or just want some tranquillity.

Hammas Barn is a detached 1 bedroom self contained dwelling with a little stream running close by, your patio and garden area are next to it. Set in a very quiet rural setting (no near neighbours.) Although situated in the depths of the countryside we have easy access to local towns, facilities and the beautiful coast.

What makes this barn unique

The Barn is an amazing place to be (with only one holiday-let, there are no other holiday makers, or complex etc here) with wildlife very close, deer, birds and bats, no noise, air or light pollution, to be able to gaze up at a black sky with millions of stars or see a deer sunning itself in the afternoon sun is quite special. Although tucked away in the countryside we have our local pub just a mile away. Great Torrington is only 3 miles away, an old market town with shops, takeaways, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The Plough Art Centre with Theatre, Cinema, Music, Exhibitions, Café and Bar. A Museum. Dartington Crystal, RHS Rosemoor and much more. The Tarka Trail for walks or cycling is just under a mile away. Easy access to Dartmoor, Exmoor, and the North Devon coastline, Westward Ho, Clovelly and Bude to name just a few. Plenty of local history and walks.

Absolutely fantastic!!

  • 5 of 5

A perfect holiday in the perfect location. The cottage has everything that you could possibly want and is beautifully clean and welcoming.

A brilliant location to explore the local area and links to main roads if you want to go further afield. Lots of guides and maps provided for you to help you plan your days.

The cottage and surrounding grounds are perfect if you have a dog, with lots of places to walk.

Amanda and David were very welcoming, but in no way intrusive, there if you needed them and very friendly.

Thank you so much for a wonderful week and we will definitely be booking for next year.

Would recommend to anyone.

Very Comfortable Barn in Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

We have a lovely wintery 3 night stay in the cosy barn, perfect for a couple or small family. Our three terriers loved the safe off lead walking on the owners land, including a dip in the brrok. The setting seems quite isolated but is only minutes drive from shops and amenities, or a brisk 45 minute walk along the Tarka Trail into Torrington. We highly recommend this property and hope to return later in the year. Thanks to our hosts who were welcoming and 'on hand' to offer advice, but who respected our privacy.

Peaceful Haven

  • 5 of 5

Total relaxation in a high quality barn conversion. Stayed here for a week but it should have been 2 weeks. Perfect location for us to visit relatives and explore the area. We received a warm welcome from Amanda and David and were made to feel at home immediately. It was total relaxation from start to finish. we even spent the evenings sitting out, on various seats spread around the site sipping wine and enjoying the silence. An idyllic place to stay.

Warm Welcome & Peaceful Break

  • 5 of 5

A week here really refreshes you from city life. We were greeted warmly on arrival, the owners were always on hand if we needed anything and were happy to offer ideas for places to visit. They had supplied the property with plenty of books and DVDs to borrow and made our dog as welcome as we were. There were leaflets for just about everywhere in the area to visit and we had plenty of choice.

Very quiet surroundings, it really highlighted how loud my partner snores; and we could listed to the owls all night.

Have already recommended to all of our friends and we are planning our next visit.
