Pretty Barn Set In Beautiful Coutryside, secluded, very quiet no near neighbours 1 dbl bed

The Barn at Hammas Farm is a Self catering, detached 1 double bedroomed dwelling, with an en-suite toilet/shower (cubicle) room upstairs and an open plan fully equipped kitchen/diner and lounge downstairs (it has it's own central heating system). The barn comes with its own patio and an enclosed garden next to it.

Set in 10 acres of beautiful countryside for you to walk, tucked away down a long tree lined winding tarmac drive. A pretty stream runs close by. It is a very quiet and peaceful setting ideal for unwinding and relaxing whether it be summer or winter. The barn has its own parking, BBQ & washing line.

There is a welcome sheet and instructions for all the appliances close to hand for you. We live in the Farm house which is situated close by if you have any problems and where you collect your key on arrival.

Previous guests have ordered and had delivered their groceries to the barn so if you are short of space in your vehicle this makes life easier. If you are looking for supermarkets we have Lidl in Torrington (with a range of unique little shops.) Morrison, Tesco, Asda in Bideford.

Sorry we do not have mobile reception here but you do have Wi-Fi.

The barn is ideal for star gazers on a clear night, bat watching April to October (please ask) Close to the Tarka Trail for ramblers, cycling and dog walking.

Plenty of dog friendly pubs around and lovely beaches along the coast (nearest 30mins drive away.)

About the Owner

Hello, just a small introduction, we are David and Amanda and we were married in 2008, we have 5 children and 3 grandchildren between us. When the last of them left home (in Hertfordshire) we decided to move to North Devon and start a new life, this is where we found our dream home: We did escape to the countryside! We live in the main house so we are near by if you need anything.

We have now opened a small plants nursery which is open Sat & Sun 1pm - 5pm (only)

Peaceful Haven

  • 5 of 5

Total relaxation in a high quality barn conversion. Stayed here for a week but it should have been 2 weeks. Perfect location for us to visit relatives and explore the area. We received a warm welcome from Amanda and David and were made to feel at home immediately. It was total relaxation from start to finish. we even spent the evenings sitting out, on various seats spread around the site sipping wine and enjoying the silence. An idyllic place to stay.

Warm Welcome & Peaceful Break

  • 5 of 5

A week here really refreshes you from city life. We were greeted warmly on arrival, the owners were always on hand if we needed anything and were happy to offer ideas for places to visit. They had supplied the property with plenty of books and DVDs to borrow and made our dog as welcome as we were. There were leaflets for just about everywhere in the area to visit and we had plenty of choice.

Very quiet surroundings, it really highlighted how loud my partner snores; and we could listed to the owls all night.

Have already recommended to all of our friends and we are planning our next visit.

Excellent second stay.

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I have just returned from a couple of weeks stay in Hammas Farm Barn. This was our second stay here and it did not disappoint. We like what they haven’t got: no traffic, no dog barking and no children. We like what they have got: birdsong, babbling brooks and tranquility.

Great Torrington, the nearby town, is not particularly charming but it has a supermarket and a petrol station, and it is convenient for getting to the host of beauty spots and places of interest in Devon and beyond.

Amanda and David are perfect hosts; friendly and helpful but unintrusive. You’d hardly know they were there until you need something, then they’re quick to help. The Barn is clean, cozy, and very well equipped.

If you don’t feel like driving, there are beautiful walks from the doorstep, including part of the ubiquitous Tarka Trail.
