St Paul de Serre is located in the beautiful Dordogne with access to some of the most beautiful countryside in France. Just south of Perigueux and north of Bergerac it affords access to culture, history, restaurants and most of what the heart may desire.
My wife and I were charmed by the farm complex, which was built by a family fleeing the North of France at the time of the French Revolution. They settled in the vicinity of the old convent, which you can still see opposite the Church of St Paul. The oldest part of the property, the 'Old House', originates from those cruel years, the barn was built in 1832 and contains a Maltese Cross, as a pisé flooring.
