The apartment at 1 Channel View is in the unique position of being within the harbour area and Lyme Regis' famous seafront. This newly refurbished, high spec boutique apartment sits as a gem in Lyme's world heritage coastal site, enjoying 270 degree panoramic views looking out over the historic harbour, The Cobb, and the beach. Over Lyme Bay, to the east, at night the twinkling lights of Weymouth some 20 miles away can be viewed as the eye sweeps across the bay. The flashing lights from the lighthouse on Portland are seen, and most times of the day and night fishing boats and ships can be observed. Lyme is in an ideal position to explore the whole of Dorset either by car or along the South West Coast Path. Local activities in walking distance include excellent crabbing - the sea siders favourite sport, fishing trips, coastal and countryside hike, fossil hunting, diving, seafront pubs, Marine parade and theatre, crazy golf, local shops beside the residence and a number of restaurants. Celebrity chef Mark Hix's Oyster and Fish House fish restaurant is 5 minutes walk or in the summer they run a rickshaw taxi to and from the restaurant. River Cottage Canteen restaurant is 15 minutes drive away in Axminster. Positioned just 30 seconds walk from Lyme's two main beaches, Sandy Beach and Monmouth Beach, this tastefully appointed apartment sleeps five people with the option of an additional two. The London designer-led renovations have both restored the charm of the original building and incorporated modern facilities to ensure the maximum enjoyment and comfort for your stay. The stylish fitted kitchen opens out into the living/dining space. There are plenty of magnificent views over the sea. Each bedroom also has a balcony overlooking the harbour and back towards Monmouth Beach. Lyme's main town is a 6 minutes walk. You will find The Fisherman's Wife below your apartment which serves fabulous hand-dived scallops from Lyme Bay and freshly cut fries which people love!

Kindly note: the apartment is priced at £15.00 per person above 2 persons per night (children under 18 are not charged). If a four-legged friend is coming to stay the price will be charged at £30 a stay. When possible, we aim to greet you at the apartment.

I am a designer and have spent much of this year refurbishing 1 Channel View to a high standard, very boutique, and with many unexpected extras for you to enjoy.

This apartment is owned by myself and my four children, Hector, Louis, Oscar and Freya. My parents lived here for over 30 years and it is somewhere we treasure with our hearts.

The most delightful place- utterly wonderful

Such a wonderful place, a great find by my boyfriend! The location is amazing and the flat itself is beautifully styled and refurbished in great taste. There are many great touches which make a stay here feel very special. It is clearly a well cared for property, spotlessly clean and with plenty of attention to detail. The wine on arrival was much appreciated!

Shower is incredible, bed super comfy and the sofa is the perfect place to watch the sun rise over Golden Cap, spy on people passing by below off to the hunt for fossils and to snuggle up on as night draws in.

Can't rate it highly enough! Hoping to be back to watch the storms too! I imagine there would be a cracking view from the living room as well... THANK YOU

Wonderful location but attention to detail needed

This property is in a great location with wonderful views of Lyme harbour and bay. We are sure that it was lovely when first marketed and the bed was comfortable.. However, it is showing signs of wear you wouldn't expect at the price. It also needed a good clean with much more attention needed in the kitchen area especially: dirt round edges of the hob for instance and lots of grubby marks that came off with a bit of effort. The sofa was very shabby with dog and human hairs evident, which didn't encourage you to relax and watch the world go by outside. Also someone else's hair was in the shower. We are not OCD but this was not acceptable. There is no dedicated parking and the private parking about a hundred yards away is £9 a day. We were initially concerned about the fish and chip shop below but there was no noise and no smell. A comprehensive printed list of instructions would be better than the hand written notes scattered round the place.

What can we see other than fantastic such a prime position our family who we holidayed with were green with envy would recommend this place. We had a 17 year old a 4 and 3 year old and all three loved it

'Fossiling'- Lymes is a world heritage site and people travel from far and wide to fossil here.

Coast/Beach:

There are two beaches within 30 seconds walk from the property. Lyme's main beach 'Sandy Beach' and marine parade is situated a quick walk across the Cobb Square and also Lyme's pebbly Monmouth Beach is just across the road.

Booking Notes:
In high season we only take weekly bookings, Saturday to Saturday.
There is an additional charge of £45 per week for private car parking situated two minutes from our apartment. You can choose to park in the public car park but for ease we recommend to secure a private car parking space, we are happy to organise this for you.
We take fifty per cent deposit to secure the booking and the remainder ten weeks before arrival.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday during peak times - although an alternative changeover day may be possible depending on other bookings. The apartment will usually be ready for your arrival by 3pm. It may be possible to drop luggage off sooner if you need to.
