The village has a lake which is the location for many social activities in summer

Our property is a traditional French house in a traditional French village in cider & Calvados country. It has 3 good sized double bedrooms, one with twin beds & a large kitchen/diner with dishwasher, washing machine, oven & microwave. One bedroom is downstairs & incorporates a sitting area with DVD player, books & games. The lounge is upstairs to take advantage of the access to the west-facing decking area. This is the only outside space as the garden at the back belongs to a neighbour. There’s a shower room with toilet & washbasin & a separate toilet accessed from the lounge. There is no broadband connection but free wifi is available at the bar in the village & the property has UK freesat TV. Please note that the property has an unguarded staircase & may not be suitable for very young children. The lack of a garden also makes it unsuitable for dogs. No smoking is allowed in the house. Saint-Fraimbault is a renowned Village Fleuri & holds a fete every summer in celebration. There is a lake 5 minutes from the property which is very lively in season with pedaloes, mini-golf & a bar. The village has a bar, a boulangerie, a mini-market & post office & a hairdresser, all within minutes of the property. There are more facilities in Passais which is just a few miles away. Passais also has an equestrian centre, providing pony trekking etc. In nearby Torchamp there’s a kayaking centre. Golf (9 holes) is available in Bagnoles de l’Orne, a lovely spa town about 30 minutes from Saint-Fraimbault. Bagnoles de l’Orne has a race course & an open air pool. There are plenty of other easily accessible attractions, details of which are available at the property. Getting there: There are lots of alternative routes but you will need a car as there is no public transport to Saint-Fraimbault. The ferry ports at Saint Malo & Caen are less than 2 hours away & Cherbourg & Le Havre are less than 3 hours away. Dieppe is about 3 hours away. (A discount code is available if you use Brittany Ferries.) There are flights from the UK to Rennes, Caen & Dinard. The nearest railway station is Flers & the station at Argentan is only an hour from Paris. These 2 towns do not have car rental facilities.

Lovely house in beautiful and tranquil village

We have just returned from staying in this property in St-Fraimbault and found it was a great base for our week long holiday. I stayed there with my husband and 5 year old son. It has a large kitchen well-stocked with appliances and utensils, spacious bedrooms and a lovely terrace to sit out on, overlooking a beautiful garden.

The village itself is exceptionally pretty, and we all enjoyed walking to and around the lake, and my son loved the play area. It is a peaceful village, and was a good base for us as we went off in the car most days to explore the area (we to le Mont St Michel/Alligator Bay, Domfront, the zoo at Jurques, Mayenne - all fantastic), however it is quite quiet so may not be for someone who wants lots happening on their doorstep. The roads are easy to navigate and drive on, and we enjoy seeing different places and the area, so this was good for us and we found the property and it's location interesting and friendly.

Great property, and great owners - they answered my questions before booking very quickly and were very friendly. Thank you!

The village was lovely along with the local area

The property was spacious with all the amenities that we needed the sun deck outside was really nice for the evening sun ,

The owners of the property were very quick to respond to any questions or queries we had

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

Beach resorts can be reached in just over an hour, including Mont St Michel and the north east Brittany coast. The Normandy beaches are about 2 hours away.

Travel:

There are lots of alternative routes but you will need a car as there is no public transport to Saint-Fraimbault. The ferry ports at Saint Malo & Caen are less than 2 hours away and Cherbourg and Le Havre are less than 3 hours away. There are flights from the UK to Rennes, Caen and Dinard. The nearest railway station is Flers & the station at Argentan is only an hour from Paris. These 2 towns do not have car rental facilities.

A discount code is available if travelling by Brittany Ferries.

Distances:

The medieval town of Domfront is 20 minutes away and Torchamp, which provides outside activities including a kayak centre is 10 minutes away.

Further Details:

The village has 2 bars/restaurants, a mini-market and a boulangerie. Passais (10 minutes) has more facilities and Domfront (20 minutes) has good supermarkets and a variety of restaurants.
