Lovely place to stay.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage had everything we required, clean and in a quiet and private setting. The cottage is very handy for Harrogate, York and the surrounding county. It is lovely to come back to in the evenings where you can relax in the garden. We really enjoyed our stay and if we are ever in the area again, we will certainly hope the cottage is available

Cosy, well equipped, good location.

  • 5 of 5

We spent days in Knaresborough and Harrogate and a night in the local pub at Staveley which did lovely food. We weren't so lucky with the weather but it didn't stop us enjoying ourselves.

Nice property but dark interior

  • 3 of 5

We did enjoy our stay (7 days) and the cottage was well equipped. Our only criticism was that the interior was dark and it being mid summer this was surprising. We found that if we returned a little earlier from a day out (4 -5pm) and the weather was not warm enough to sit outside then the best place to relax was in the bedroom, a beautifully light space having big windows on two aspects.

In the lounge we moved the little table to underneath a window which helped when enjoying breakfast or a meal as this was a nice view of the garden below.

Unfortunately I am not sure how the dark space could be overcome without major alteration (further velux window? All glass front door?).

Having said all this it was a nice self contained space in a very peaceful area.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback I'm glad to be made aware you found the sitting area dark as this has never been mentioned by any previous guests. May I take this opportunity to say to any future guests that the seating area has 8 spot lights and a table lamp and if anyone finds the area dark please let me know and I will provide additional lighting. I'm glad you liked the cottage and this was your only negative point.
