Casa Amaya is located in the middle of Maryvilla which is considered to have some of the finest panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the Peñon de Ifach. The nearest beach is approximately 800m from the villa and the Puerto Blanco harbour is only 1km away. Nestled at the foot of the Bernia Mountains, this beautiful villa is located a few minutes’ drive from Calpe and its gloriously white sandy beaches. The villa is divided in to 2 parts, 4 bedroom villa with a 2 bedroom self contained studio, recently refurbished large heated swimming pool , enclosed courtyard with pool table. There is private off street parking on the property for several cars. The main house has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, large dining/living room with TV-sat, and fast WIFI , fully-fitted kitchen, covered terrace, BBQ, and a large roof terrace with outstanding views of the Mediterranean sea and Mountings. This villa also has a self contained studio with 2 bedrooms, a very large bathroom, dining/living room with TV-sat, and WIFI the fully-fitted kitchen, and a covered terrace, BBQ and another large roof terrace with spectacular views of the Peñon de Ifach.

Both are fully equipped and finished to a really high standard.

This property is ideal for two families.

Excellent fully equipped luxury villa.

Superb holiday. Villa very clean, fully equipped with everything you need to make a brilliant holiday. Lovely views to the sea from the pool and sun terraces. Situated in a very pleasant area within walking distance to a couple of bars and restaurants. English owners who couldn't do enough to make our stay special. Calpe is a very nice place where everyone is friendly and welcoming.

We would definatley recommend staying in this luxury villa.

Best Family Holiday Ever

We loved it here and genuinely had the best holiday we'd ever had. It was perfect for us.

You definitely need a car as there is very little to walk to. The villa is also unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. However the upside of all the steps (49 from pool to car) and various levels in the villa is we are all much fitter.

The pool is sublime. The diving board provided much fun. Plenty of sunbeds. Just gorgeous.

There are plentiful bedrooms all of which have air conditioned units.

The enclosed courtyard was used all the time and the furniture outside was all lovely. There's a ping pong table in there, an outside fridge and bbq area.

If you want to eat out we highly recommend Oscars. Gormet food and first class service if that's your thing.

I could go on and on but will end by saying the host, Trevor, was very attentive, communication was excellent and nothing was too much trouble.

Lovely quiet location, wonderful views

Just been for a week’s stay. If you’re looking for a getaway, this is a brilliant home from home location. Everything you need and more with a spacious feel.

Owners description very accurate and excellent customer service!

We hired a car from Alicante airport and drove ourselves to the villa which took approximately an hour. The route was very easy but make sure you have a bit of money to pay for the toll road if you choose that direct route!

You approach the property through lockable gates with parking for 2 cars. You can walk straight down to the pool area or enter the main building which has four bedrooms. There is a separate two bedroom area which has it’s own kitchen, bathroom and sitting area/tv room. Although separate, it is easily accessed through a central enclosed courtyard.

First impressions don’t do it justice as the space and rooms just go on and on.

The main kitchen area is well equipped with everything you need, including a large fridge should you wish to cater for yourselves.

It comfortably sleeps 12 and the bathroom locations means every 2 rooms have their own space and privacy. There is plenty of wardrobe and shelving space which is always a bonus! The main bedroom is especially lovely and has a light, airy feel.

The central courtyard is lovely. Everybody can sit together and enjoy this relaxing space which includes a built in BBQ, beer fridge and music. There is wi-fi throughout with very good connectivity in the building and the pool area.

The pool area is also very relaxing with lovely views over the valley and the ‘tumbling’ villas around. There are sunbeds for all, some on the scenic roof terraces, ideal if you want your own space. These terraces have the added bonus of spectacular views over Calpe, great to sit up there, have a drink and take it all in.

There are a few bars and restaurants within walking distance and Calpe is only a short taxi ride away. It costs approximately 10 euros each way. Calpe has lots of bars and restaurants, a lovely beach and marina, it not too ‘touristy’ and has a lovely welcoming atmosphere. It is possible to walk into Calpe (which some of our party did) but this does involve some walking over rocks. Not a problem if you have decent footwear and are mobile.

A lovely relaxing stay. I would definitely recommend it and would not hesitate to go back and visit again!

Special interest holidays:

Nature: The Peñon de Ifach (Rock of Ifach) nature reserve. If you're feeling fit there's a path to the summit. The Salinas: A natural salt lake with Flamingos and Herons. Calpe has a wonderful modern marina that sits alongside the old fishing port. From here it is possible to take boat rides around the rock and to the nearby resort of Benidorm. The port has a nautical club and facilities for yachting, windsurfing and water skiing. If its dry-land sports you want then the rock of Ifach offers climbing facilities. One of the best ways to glimps the local coastline is by means of the narrow gauge railway that runs from Alicante to Denia, stopping at Calpe. Calpe has several tourist information centres, all of which are very helpful and will provide you with information about the whole of the region.

Coast/Beach:

The best beaches of Calpe are a 5 minute drive from the villa. The closest beach is 800m from the villa.

Travel:

From Alicante Airport 45 minutes drive (approx 70km). From Valencia Airport 1 hours drive. We always recommend that our guests hire a car as the area is hilly and although there is a kiosk which sells milk/bread etc. within 600m of the villa the bigger supermarkets and the town of Calpe are a 5 minute drive away.

Distances:

2 restaurants with bars (one with pool and tennis club) 600m from villa. Main town, supermarkets and main beaches 5 mins by car.

Further Details:

At the heart of the Costa Blanca, within the region of Valencia lies an ancient fishing village, now a tourist magnet by the name of Calpe. Calpe sits in an ideal location, easily accessed by the A7 motorway and the N332 that runs from Valencia to Alicante. Calpe is dominated by the towering rock of Ifach which reaches to an impressive 332m and is now a nature reserve. The summit of the rock is reached by means of a tunnel through the rock. From here, magnificent panoramic views can be had. On a clear day, the island of Ibiza is visible.

Calpe has a wonderful mixture of old Valencian culture and modern tourist trappings, perfectly harmonising providing an ideal base from which to explore the local area or enjoy on the many beaches. Calpe alone has three of the most beautiful sandy beaches on the coast.

Calpe is a town rich in history and culture and its strategic position on the coast has attracted many voyagers and settlers throughout history.

Remains of Iberian tribes have been found around the town and later, the Romans founded a prosperous colony whose main activity was dried, salted fish. Christians and Moors lived peacefully for a time but were subjected to attacks by pirates during the 14th-17th centuries. The peace of the 18th century enabled Calpe to regenerate and form the current tourist location. When it comes to sightseeing, the ancient town centre, next to the Moorish quarter is a good place to start. The old town walls and the church known as Iglesia Vieja are well worth seeing. This church is the only remaining example of Mudejar-Gothic architecture within Valencia. Alongside the modern Paseo Maritimo are the recently discovered remains of a Roman villa, once forming part of the Roman fish factory, known as the Banys de la Reina (Queens Bath). Overlooking the Mascarat ravine are the ruins of the Moorish Castle of Calpe and all over the local countryside are the typical rui-rau country houses, with arched porticos for raisin drying.
