About michelle dawn croft

We live in the Northwest of England with our daughter and Jack Russell, we purchased Crud Yr Awel 12 years ago after holidaying in Abersoch for many years, we love the area and have never got tired of the magnificent views and stunning beaches this peninsula has to offer we are still finding new places to visit even after almost 20 years it is sometimes worth getting off the beaten track. Crud Yr Awel is a real home from home with a well equipped kitchen, beautiful bed linen and fittings making it feel that little bit more special. This is our first year at letting and I'm quite excited that we are sharing what we think is a beautiful place with others.

michelle dawn croft purchased this bungalow in 2003

Lovely stay: fantastic views, very peaceful

  • 4 of 5

The cottage (bungalow) is gorgeous, and has amazing views over the peninsula. The conservatory is perfectly appointed to take advantage of the views of the sea, and were treated to some gorgeous sunsets whilst we were there. The bungalow is immaculately kept and very clean, and is lovely and warm. The wifi is great - more than enough to watch movies in the evenings whilst sat by the fire. Having said that, there is a collection of DVDs and games in the cottage, so we certainly weren’t stuck for something to do when the weather wasn’t great. We had our dog with us, so eating out wasn’t really an option, but the kitchen is so well equipped, we felt right at home. We actually took our slow cooker to prepare our evening meals, but we didn’t have to. There was one at the bungalow! Along with a rice cooker, a electric hand whisk/mixer and all the cooking/baking dishes you could ever want.

There are loads of walks in the area, with varying degrees of difficulty. I’m sure anyone would be able to find a walk matched to their ability. Our border collie was certainly well exercised during the week! There are some lovely beaches a short drive away, some of which are dog friendly. The local village had a couple of shops, and Nefyn (about 10-15 mins drive away) had a few more for those essentials. It also has a lovely brewery - Cwrw Llyn Cyf - with its own cafe and shop so we could sample some locally brewed beers, but there is a pub within walking distance of the house. There is a large supermarket in Pwllheli for a larger shopping trip.

Honestly, this is the best holiday cottage booking we’ve been on, and whilst it was our first visit, I’m sure it won’t be the last. It is in such a beautiful area of Wales, and with so much to do in the local vicinity, its a no-brainer! :)

Stunning Views

  • 5 of 5

The cottage certainly deserves its 5 stars. It was immaculately presented with everything you could possibly want - apart from the weather - but hey, it was Wales at the end of October! It was clean and extremely comfortable and the views both to the front and back are marvellous. The welcome basket was most appreciated as were all the little touches which show how much attention to detail Michelle has put into her cottage.

There is plenty to do in the area, even when the weather is inclement. We found art galleries and bookshops to browse in and tea shops for that all important afternoon cake. We managed the walk up behind the cottage, although we didn't climb to the top of Yr Eifl as rain was on its way, but the views from the lower slopes to both sides of the peninsula are worth the effort. The old village Nant Gwrtheyrn is also worth a wander round, although we drove down - it's a very steep walk back up. We also discovered that even if Lithfaen is in thick mist, quite often the coast was clear and even occasionally sunny!

It goes without saying that the scenery is just stunning, from the mountains to the beautiful beaches. We would love to go again, possibly when the weather is likely to be better, but having said that the cottage is so cosy, you would be happy there in a snow storm.

A holiday gem

  • 5 of 5

Having just returned from our 3 night stay in this beautiful rural bungalow I can confirm that the reviews are spot on.

Set in a quiet village but close enough to the fantastic beaches, mountains and resorts of this friendly unspoilt region it is ideally located.

With quality appliances and facilities with just about everything you could ever need provided and mesmeric rural views from every window you cannot possibly fail to enjoy yourself.

Do not hesitate, book it now, you will not regret it.

Thanks again Michelle, we loved it and will be back.

A Lovely, homely cottage with fabulous views

  • 5 of 5

The property is immaculate and superbly equipped with all facilities and essentials such as wifi. The weather was not good during our stay but spending time in the property is no hardship from sitting in the conservatory to playing games or collating next to the log fire. You can't stay here and not relax, its impossible.

Everything and more

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for five nights with our dog, Indy. We were after somewhere cosy, dog friendly, close to the beach and with wifi. We were not disappointed at all and would definitely return for a holiday.

The property had everything we needed plus lots of extras. Michelle and Paul have really went out there way to include everything. The welcome pack includes local sites and tourist destinations, contact details, tips for using facilities and much more. The bungalow was well maintained, clean and fresh.

What we really loved was the log burning fire. After a day out walking, the fire was so cosy and welcoming. The property did have central heating but the bungalow was never cold.

The wifi performed excellently and has the speed to watch movies and do general internet tasks.

We had mixed weather but mostly dry which meant we could enjoy an evening sitting out on the decking.

The photos do not do the property justice.

If you are interested in a not so strenuous walk you have Yr Eifl which is directly behind the cottage. There are two beaches roughly 5 miles from the bungalow, Traeth Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn, they essentially connect together. The two beaches are dog friendly but at times dogs are asked to be kept on specific sides of the beach. At Morfa Nefyn you will find one of the worlds top beach pubs, Ty Coch Inn. There is also a fuel station in Morfa Nefyn.

We visited Beddgelert which was lovely and boosts an ice cream shop. Whilst here we also did the Fisherman's Path and Cwm Bychan.

Do not hesitate to book Crud Yr Awel.
