A Charming Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Our group of three couples arrived in late September to this wonderful, charming restored farmhouse in the beautiful countryside in Montignac Le Coq. It was so quiet and peaceful and picturesque. In front of us was a sea of sunflowers and, while they were no longer blooming, they were still stunning. During our stay, we were able to see them be harvested which was so amazing. The location was perfect and we did many day trips to all the little towns in the area. Such a beautiful place to stay. The gite itself was very comfortable and well equipped with lots of room for everyone. We spent much of our time out by the pool having our meats and cheeses and wine gazing out at the surroundings. It really does take your breath away. I would highly recommend staying here. It has it all.

It doesn't get any better than this!!

  • 5 of 5

In late September we spent 10 glorious days and nights at this spot!!! Three couples celebrating a very special birthday (that the three of us gals all shared!!). We could not have asked for a better location!!! And we could not have asked for better accommodation!!! We rented a couple of cars and that was perfect. You do need a car for this area. A couple of km’s away is a lovely little town with a couple of great restaurants. Our days were spent shopping at the Friday market in Riberac, visiting St Emilion, just puttering around the countryside and enjoying the beautiful scenery of sunflowers, maze or grapes, enjoying 2 or 3 hours lunches at restaurants located in towns that were highly recommended by the owners (and they were RIGHT ON with EVERY recommendation!!! They KNOW their stuff!!)…….and returning to our ‘home’ in time for cocktails around the pool. Even had the incredible experience of having a fighter jet fly directly over us while we were at the pool — I will NEVER forget the sound!!! The accommodations worked great for the 6 of us. We cooked a lot of meals and found the kitchen to work very well - good size fridge for all our cheeses and meats and other goodies we picked up along the way. Oh and by the way, that ‘lovely little town’ also has an awesome patisserie!!! Having a dishwasher and a washing machine for clothes was a time saver. Even had pretty good WiFi service. Lovely neighbours to chat with and they were just wonderful to us!! We can’t wait to return!!!!!!

May in Montignac-le-coq

  • 5 of 5

Our initial impression of the property was of peacefulness and tranquility. The gite is extremely well equiped and large enough for 6 people. The location is fantastic, surrounded by fields(sunflowers in the summer) we were there in May and enjoyed the blossom on the trees and lovely countryside. We felt very relaxed in the property and spent many happy days sitting outside drinking fantastic local champagne. The property is in close vicinity to a number of beautiful historic villages with affordable restaurants and also very easily accessible to the Dordogne river and Bordeaux wine regions. When we were not travelling around we enjoyed cooking delicious food in the well equiped kitchen and generally enjoying being in the very atmospheric property. We stayed in the property for 2 weeks in May and are hoping to go again.

Fantastic Les Fosses

  • 5 of 5

Les Fosses is a delightful house in a lovely part of France. We had a wonderful time on the two occasions we stayed there .From the minute we walked through the door the whole house felt magical. It was very clean, and well equipped with all the facilities we needed. It had lots of books games and activities for all ages. It could easily hold 6 people. The swimming pool was fantastic, we had it all to ourselves. There were also many interesting places around to visit if you feel the need to tear yourself away from such a tranquil location. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family.Sheila and Gordon Ramsdale
