About Michelle Proctor

Michelle Proctor purchased this cottage in 2013

Why Michelle Proctor chose Kent

We fell in love Whitstable after staying in this beautiful coastal town during 2013. We enjoy wandering through the quaint high street, with it's independent shops and fantastic restaurants.

What makes this cottage unique

We bought Sherbet Cottage in 2013. The location of the cottage is perfect, 2 minutes walk to the harbour, beach and high street. With it's own parking space at the cottage, this relieves any parking stress during high season.

Beautiful, cosy cottage with all mod cons and great location

  • 5 of 5

The owners thought of everything, with lots of special touches (penny sweets, boats games and red wine!). They were really responsive when we thought the heating wasn't working, nothing was a problem. Would highly recommend.

An amazing find....will be back for sure.

  • 5 of 5

Sherbet cottage is wonderful. First class decor a great location....we didn't use the car all weekend. The cottage is cosy with a great wood burner and comfortable lounge area. Well equipped kitchen and a good size dining room. All bedrooms well furnished and a good size, with lovely little homely touches and great little extras. As for the mini sweet shop what a fab idea such fun. Nice little garden area with seating however it was -2 most of our weekend so we didn't use this area !

We found parking easy with one space at the rear of the property the other two cars easily found parking in the next street and as there is no need to move cars as everything is within walking distance this worked for the whole weekend.

Wonderful restaurants and bars and great independent shops and of course the sea all on your doorstep.

We are normally pretty difficult to please but there was really nothing we could fault.

Thank you again Sherbet cottage for a wonderful weekend.....see you soon.

Beautiful, quiet and close to everything you need

A really beautiful, well presented house with everything you need for a relaxing time. The wood burner is very simple to use making the house very toasty. The house is very close to the front so drop the car off and enjoy whitstable

Lovely house in ideal location

  • 5 of 5

Sherbet Cottage is a warm, friendly and inviting house, beautifully and tastefully decorated, and with everything you could want for a stay in Whitstable. Although it looks quite small from the outside there was plenty of room for the six of us. There's a cosy sitting room, big dining room and well-equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are a good size and the beds are deliciously comfortable. The parking space at the back of the house is a bonus. It's just a few minutes walk to the harbour, the beach or the High Street. I can wholeheartedly recommend Sherbet Cottage.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Quite simply, Whitstable is unlike any other town you will visit by the sea and it manages to offer something for everyone. It is best known for its native oysters and its annual Whitstable Oyster Festival but it also benefits from a strong arts culture embodied by the numerous independent Whitstable galleries and craft shops and has a rich maritime history. Whitstable boasts spectacular sunsets and miles of beaches and its distinctive character and ambience is all within easy reach of the city (60 miles east of London).

As you're by the sea, why not take a beginners course in sailing, windsurfing or kitesurfing? Whitstable has excellent conditions for water sports and Whitstable Yacht Club is a good place to start. If you are looking to buy suitable clothing and accessories for anything and everything marine related, there's no better place to go than the Dinghy Store. Whitstable Marine just next door, can provide everything from kayaks to water-ski equipment.

Coast/Beach:

Walking distance to the harbour and beach.

Travel:

Whitstable has a direct fast train service from London which takes just over an hour, there are services from train stations including Victoria and St. Pancras.

Travelling to Whitstable by road is also easy with the M2 motorway only moments away from the town.
