Details for holiday home Ty Mawr, 4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8, 3 Bathrooms, 1 Separate WC

Ty Mawr is a large comfortable 18th century house. It has its own garden and is surrounded by farmland and enjoys magnificent views. This is a house full of charm and character and is ideal for larger groups, families or friends.

The ground floor has a drawing room, a sitting room with TV, a dining room, a small games room and a kitchen with breakfast table. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms, both with en-suite shower rooms. There are two twin bedded rooms, both with wash basin. There is a separate wc downstairs and a family bathroom with over bath shower.

Ty Mawr is ideal for the larger party, and can be booked together with the property Bwthyn Bach nearby, which can accommodate a further 2, and is ideal for grandparents.

Good....................but could be better.

Overall our group of 8 found the property to be pretty much in line with the description. The house had plenty of room for everybody, it was generally comfortable and warm, the kitchen was nice and the views were lovely. However there were some problems. The double en suite bedroom had no working shower or bath and this was not resolved, despite the reporting of this disappointing aspect. The double bed mattress felt like it was constructed from welsh slate and the 'games room' was a real disappointment. There were numerous other problems that detracted from what could so easily be a fabulous holiday home and we felt that more effort should have gone into ensuring the house lived up to it's 4 star rating and not inconsiderable price. A great pity really as there is such potential. We actually left a day early following a ceiling leak and although we made sure we enjoyed the New Year at Ty Mawr there was certainly an overall feeling of disappointment that would prevent us coming again. I contacted the owner on our return but there was no genuine acknowledgement or apology that all was not well.
