About the property

Detached Farmhouse near Fossombrone, Pesaro-Urbino Province - For Your Exclusive Use Of House, Garden & Pool.

There are two comfortable bedrooms - both have superb views . The master bedroom has a fantastic double aspect and a large four poster bed. There is also a high quality folding bed, available as an optional extra, which can be placed in the large master bedroom. A cot of of Italian design is also available - for which there is no charge, but we ask you to bring your own bed linen for this cot. Bedroom 2 has two single beds.

The shower room is of very high standard.

There is a large farmhouse kitchen / dining room and lovely lounge with French doors which open onto the superb veranda where you can wine, dine and enjoy fabulous views of the valley and the mountains and the beautiful pool (kidney shape 10 m x 5 m) (open beginning of May until mid October) from which there are more breathtaking views. There are about 20 restaurants within a 15 minute drive and the nearest one (which has excellent food) is at 2.3 km.

The local village is 8 minutes away. There are two general stores, a bar, newsagent, pharmacy, post office, bank + ATM, bakery, hairdresser, and laundry.

The local town of Fossombrone has everything. The Blue Flag beaches of Fano are 30 minutes away by car. Fano has 140+ restaurants !

All rooms in the house have great character because all have restored beams. In the lounge there is a DVD / VCR/ FM system and a movie library of about 250 classic and top rated films. There are many board games etc. There is a superb new professional table tennis table in the large covered portico - so you can play all day, in all weather. There is a boxed set of Boules by Jaques of London. And don't forget the beautiful pool ! We have a new stone barbecue with a unique charcoal burning system which allows you to cook within 10 minutes of lighting. It really is simple to light and very efficient for cooking at different levels. We have a one acre garden which is surrounded by our 7 acre corn-field. It is located in a spectacular rural position but close to our local village and to the towns of Fossombrone, Urbino and Fano.

We have recently installed Mi-Fi (mobile Wi-Fi) which will give you free access to emails and to limited use of the internet.

This Province of Pesaro-Urbino has masses of culture, superb countryside and lots of places to visit and things to do for children. Fano - for great beaches in a beautiful town go to Fano . It is only 30 minutes by car to Fano's Blue Flag beaches and the town of Fano is a gorgeous part Roman and Renaissance town rich in art and architecture. There are many lovely shops, bars, about 140 restaurants, several beautiful squares, big street market every Wednesday and Saturday and a superb fish market every day. There is a busy fishing port and a huge modern marina. The beach areas are particularly appealing to children because there is everything there for them to do. There can be no better place to eat ice cream than in Fano, which has so many ice cream bars! A very elegant town, with restaurants everywhere - you will undoubtedly fall in love with Fano -so will the children. Caves of Frasassi - Our visitors’ No 1 place of interest, including its popularity with children. A stupendous cave system with multi-lingual guides to escort you along its many well constructed pathways which lead through the incredible caverns. Urbino -The Renaissance jewel, equal in importance to Florence at that time. This is the home town of Rafael (you can visit his house) and the Court of Duke Federico da Montefeltro. A beautiful town and architectural gem - a 'must do' for lovers of culture! Aquafan - a fantastic water fun-park for all ages - voted 'tops' by families with children, but also fun for adults. Walking - immediately you leave the house you have a choice of lovely walks with spectacular scenery. Eating out - This is a truly gastronomic Province with so many good places to eat that you are forever spoilt for choice! There are about 20 restaurants within a 15 minute drive. The nearest restaurant (excellent pasta and meats) is 2.3 km away. Fano has 140+ restaurants! Roast meats and home-made pasta are a speciality of this Province, and because there are a number of commercial fishing ports on the Adriatic coast, including in particular Fano, there are many restaurants specialising in fish, serving the most wonderful dishes (grilled, fried, baked, risotto, pasta). This area is renowned for its Brodetto (fish soup). In Fano and surrounding towns and villages (including our local area) the annual International Brodetto & Fish Soup festival is held from 12 September to 12 October. Excellent places for pasta and pizza are to be found everywhere so you can eat well without spending a lot and all within easy reach by car! All restaurants welcome children and make a special effort to ensure that their needs are looked after. You can eat truffles in many restaurants because nearby Acqualagna is the truffle centre of Italy. There is a White Truffle Festival in October / November every year when many Italian and International gourmets attend this important gastronomic event. There are cookery demonstrations by top chefs and you can buy produce from all over the Le Marche Region. There is also a special marquee where Sommeliers advise you of the best wines to taste. Best known Le Marche wines: Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico and the superb Lacrima di Morro D'Alba (the vineyard is located to the north of Ancona). Other wines from the Region are Rosso Conero, Sangiovese, Bianchello del Metauro. There are vineyards all over this beautiful Region, many of which are within a 30 minute drive and open to the public and where you can buy their wines. There are two vineyards within a 10 minute drive of the farmhouse. You can also buy Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the many local producers.

Bird life is amazing, with Redstarts, Warblers, Red backed shrike, Green woodpeckers and Golden Orioles, also jays and buzzards. There are binoculars and a tripod to view all these from the veranda and reference books of birds in Europe. In the Gola del Furlo (about 30 minutes away by car) you can see Golden Eagles and many other bird species.

Excellent Old Farmhouse with Stunning Views

  • 5 of 5

A beautifully maintained and appointed property. The views were an absolute delight.

Lovely pool which we used every day, even in October!

Very well equipped kitchen that was put to use with new Italian inspiration.

An ideal location away from it all.

Highly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous!

We had a lovely time at Casa Rosa and were absolutely delighted to be stay in such a beautiful house in such a beautiful location. Our enjoyment of the house and area was greatly enhanced by the wealth of detailed information that was provided by the owners about local attractions, where to eat, scenic drives to take, etc. The thought that has clearly been put into making the guest's stay as relaxing, easy and enjoyable as possible was hugely appreciated.

Beautiful,isolated villa

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at Casa Rosa. The image of the sun setting behind the mountains while sipping a glass of prosecco on the veranda will live long in the memory. The nearest neighbours are miles away. There is a great pool and a table tennis table to keep the kids entertained. There is lots to see and do nearby and great restaurants.

The house is well equipped. The only slight downside is the lack of a second bathroom.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest. We are very pleased to hear that you had a wonderful holiday. Next year we hope to buy a Garlando table football so that will provide extra entertainment for the kids and for adults - it will be a 'serious' model ( of professional standard, like out table tennis table !) You probably missed seeing our tiny village (about 1.5 km away from our house) because the road isn't easy to spot. But there are 85 houses in the village and all within 1.5 km of its centre, including ours. We think the views from the house may appear uninterrupted, but there are in fact 12 houses within 0.7 km and we have two lots of Italian neighbours about 500 m away. It also seems that you may not have eaten at our nearby hotel and restaurant (excellent food and accommodation) - about 2.5 km away (walking distance - but some inclines!). So the house isn't isolated at all, but it is in a quiet rural location and within a very friendly farming community. We buy fruit, veg, honey, logs and olive oil from our various neighbours. We hope you will spend another holiday at our house.

Natur pur

  • 5 of 5

~Near the jewel Renaissance town of Urbino (same status as Florence during the Renaissance) The house is located in the superb Region of Le Marche, with countryside equivalent in beauty to its two neighbouring Regions of Tuscany and Umbria - the difference is that it is relatively unspoilt - because it hasn't yet been 'discovered'.

~Le Marche has 5 Provinces - all beautiful - but our Province of Pesaro-Urbino is spectacular for its scenery, culture, attractions and gastronomy.
