Why John and Nina Gibbins chose Perigord Vert

We have spent many years enjoying holidays in France, but always seemed to be drawn back to this region with the sunflowers, the fine wine, food and beautiful scenery. The local markets are just a joy to visit. Aubeterre-sur-Dronne and Brantome are just some of the wonderful places to visit.

What makes this cottage unique

Our cottage is ideally located in the hilltop village of Montagrier, above the valley of the River Dronne. The south-west facing property enjoys Dronne valley views, yet is within minutes from shops and river walks, a restaurant is just a short appetising walk away from the cottage.

A private swimming pool is adjacent to the house and the secluded sun terrace. Sunset dining is a must on the terrace after an evening swim. The ever changing landscape views of orchards, sunflower and maize fields below the cottage are a pleasant reminder of French rural life

Had a fabulous stay in this charming and well equipped cottage. Montagrier is just stunning and the perfect place to wander and unwind. The cottage has a lovely 'feel' to it and we would recommend it, but not in September as we plan to return then. Charleigh Johnson and family

September can be very beautiful in France, and we were lucky this year; stunning weather and a charming house in an area which, though not so well-known, is well worth visiting and exploring; Bergerac, Aubeterre, Brantome and Perigueux all made delightful excursions.



The house is attractive, clean and well-maintained. It has a cosy lounge which is ideal for TV if you want, but we spent most of our time in the huge, comfortable and very French kitchen (with all mod. cons, however) except when drinking wine on the pretty sun terrace. Local restaurant is good and friendly. All in all, a marvellous holiday. Denise A

The village itself while quiet had a very good auberge which we enjoyed eating and drinking at most days. The surrounding villages were pretty and interesting.

We would be more than happy to book again for future holidays.

Booking Notes:
If you wish to book the property, the owners will send you a booking form which sets out the dates, rates and payment details. A 25% deposit is required upon booking and the full balance is due 8 weeks prior to the holiday. We accept payments by bank transfer in GBP or Euros. We are open all year round - please enquire.

Changeover Day:
The changeover day, particularly in high season is Saturday. However, out of high season the owners can be flexible, so please make enquiries. Arrival time is 4p.m. Departure time is 10.00a.m.

Notes on prices:
A 25% non refundable deposit is required when booking to secure the property, the balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to arriving. For reservations within 8 weeks of the holiday, full payment will be required upon confirmation. We accept payments by bank transfer in GBP or Euros. A £200, security deposit is required with the balance of payment. There will be a fuel surcharge of £40.00 per week from 28th October 2017 – 31st March 2018. We accept payments by bank transfer in GBP or Euros

Outside: The small garden is overlooked by a sun terrace and pergola in the shade of the Banana trees. The sun terrace gives direct access to the in-ground 10 x 5 metre in ground pool. which is open from April until October. Complies with current French pool safety legislation with childproof fence and gate. The garden is currently undergoing landscaping (March 2015) After which new photographs will be displayed. Utility Room: The utility room is equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bedlinen, bathroom towels and pool towels are provided to guests and are changed weekly.
