About the property

Cottage in Broomhill, Nr. Wimborne, Dorset, England - South facing sun trap sports two patio areas with outstanding views of rural Dorset.

Rural and peaceful countryside setting with direct access to A31 which is a few minutes away. Listed walks, mountain bike routes, coarse fishing lakes & garden centre, all within walking distance. Two local Public Houses within 10 minutes walking distance, one showing open air films during the summer months. The modern garden room with both bifold and patio doors at either end make the room an open air living space leading onto both patio sun traps. Great for entertaining and star gazing which is fantastic as there is little/no light pollution.

Beautiful property in an idyllic setting.

  • 5 of 5

We found the property to be more than clean and comfortable, with everything that you would ever need. Set in an idyllic location in the countryside and only ever 25-30 drive to the coast.

We would recommend The Stocks Inn (5 mins drive), which we ate at a few times during our stay. Home cooked food and decent portion sizes.

We found Alum Chine and Boscombe beaches the nicest beaches we have been too. Very clean. Kids loved it.

Would highly recommend and would definitely return.

Gorgeous cottage with all mod cons.

  • 5 of 5

3 night stay (3 adults and 2 kids). Plenty of space and room to breath. Cottage was immaculate. Beautifully appointed with all the things you might need for a stay and more! (Dishwasher, washing machine, WiFI, Netflix etc.) Lovely garden with ancient apple tree and swings for the kids. Overlooking a field with reindeer. Super relaxing weekend. Pubs and garden centre with cafe within walking distance. Waitrose a 7 minute drive away. Will be back. Thank you Tonya!

Stunning Cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage from the outside looks quite small, but once inside you are amazed by the amount of space and the number of rooms. A beautifully furnished cottage catering for all.

Two evenings we stayed in for dinner using the fully equipped kitchen, followed by relaxing in the double aspect conservatory. The other two evenings we enjoyed meals in local pubs, both relatively close to the cottage.

We visited Poole Quay, Wareham, Wimborne and Kingston Lacy, a stately home just around the corner.

We would highly recommend staying in this cottage. Thank you Tonya for letting us stay in your cottage and for the Welcome Pack, it was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated.

Absolutely fabulous

  • 5 of 5

Sunny Cottage is furbished to a very high standard and strikes the perfect balance between being a rental and being a home. The living rooms are very spacious and the we used the outdoor spaces every day. We did several walks from the Cottage including a walk to the local pub. I can't recommend this enough and we would definitely stay again.

5 Stars is insufficient

  • 5 of 5

Six of us arrived at Sunny Cottage for a two night stay, not too sure about what we would find. Turned out that the word 'cottage' is a bit of a misnomer, this was a veritable Tardis. A beautifully reconfigured dwelling with much obvious love and care taken in the decoration and furnishing.

If you like to cook for others, bring the ingredients of your favourite meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner, the kitchen is a wonderful space in which to work. The plenitude and quality of the accessories is a real surprise...

but - maybe you don't want to cook? A ten minute stroll past the red telephone box and a right turn will lead you to the Barley Mow where you can enjoy good food from a choice menu.

The bathroom is luxurious and the bath trapped all of us for longer than the normal soak. Felt slightly guilty about the forest of logs that we burnt, but we did stay up late playing daft games, and the fire really drew in the atmosphere of lazy indulgence - something we all need now and again.

Only one regret - that I couldn't fix the flying goose which we found clapped out in the morning.

Many, many thanks for providing us with such a pleasant stay.

Wonderful holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! What an amazing week. I was looking to book a holiday for my children over the Easter Break. I wanted a week full of activities for them. I thought of going to a Centre Parc but was worried about the crowding & volumes of people (& the prices!) so I decided to build my own Centre Parc week & I'm so glad I did!

I stayed at this beautiful, peaceful house. It was quiet, so comfortable, fully equipped & I felt totally relaxed with the kids running free in the garden. To top it off there was a surprise in the field next to the cottage - the children were so excited!

The property couldn't have been in a better location for us. We loved Wimborne & went wondering through the town for coffees, brunch & looking in all the unusual shops. But the best part was being a short drive away from so much to do, yet coming home to complete peace.

We all loved Moors Valley, which is just an amazing place, miles of woodland, a small steam train & wooden climbing frames scattered through the woods & the kids got to climb the trees & use zip wires with Go Ape. We've been bike riding, horse riding, walking, tree climbing, zip wiring, picnicking, swimming at Splashdown Poole. We've been to Honey Brook Farm & Monkey World. We all went to see Kingston Lacy, which is a magnificent stately home right on your doorstep. (More for me than the kids!!)

I would highly recommend this property. It is a beautiful house & I'm definitely coming back next summer as there's so much more to see! I took a risk doing something a bit different with the kids & it's just so much better to be independent. Now I'll never look back. I wanted to write this review because firstly, Tonya & the house were just amazing & secondly, to help other parents who are looking to create a great week for their kids & not sure (like me) where to go to do it. Thank you Tonya for all your helpful advise & suggestions!
