Apartment in Val d'lsere, Savoie, Rhone Alpes, France - 5 Minutes Walk To Slopes Or Take The Free Shuttle Bus From Outside If You Are Lazy Which Takes 6 Min

Ski the best of Val d'Isere from our centrally located 2 bed apartment with fantastic views of the slopes. The apartment is large by French standards (50 square meters) and has been completely refurbished. The flat is ideally suited to a family of four, but can sleep up to five people. There is one sunny double room and one bunk room with large comfortable bunks for 2 people but very limited standing room and no window! (Best to be honest!). There is a sofa bed in the living room which sleeps 1. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher/washing machine, electric oven, ceramic hob and microwave. There is a cute bathroom with unlimited hot water and separate loo. Free Wi-Fi - although be warned that it can be temperamental in the mountains - or is it France! There is free underground parking below the building with an internal entrance to the block. However there is a height restriction - saloon cars only - and you may need snow chains to get out if is snows as there is a very steep ramp!

My name is Jane and I have been skiing in Val D'Isere for over 30 years! I met Mike my partner there on St Patrick's day in 1987 at the bus stop opposite our flat!

We have skied in various locations around the world - mainly off piste and sometimes in helicopters - but quite often we just trek up the mountain on our skins! However we love Val D' Isere - it is the best place to ski in the world!

We live in West Berkshire and run our own property company although I am still a qualified solicitor and Mike was a petroleum engineer. We now have lots of horses to pay for - so we need to rent our lovely little pad in Val to pay for them!

"Stayed here couple of times and looking to our next time. This place has all you can think about for a self catered stay (very well furnished kitchen, great beds, large living room and balcony). Forget your car once parked, all amenities are within a short walking distance from the flat. A supermarket is 2 mn door to door walk (I am not making that up!), French bakery is across the street (you can see it from the living room window!), bus stops are located by the flat's building main door (free buses!), restaurants and bars all around the flat (also visible from the window!). And what better start to the day eating breakfast at the table looking out that window getting totally excited imagining skiing down the peaks you can almost hand reach through the steam of your morning Earl Grey!!!"

Unbeatable location that allows you to maximise your holiday time skiing and relaxing rather than slogging to lifts or the shops. Good homely feel. Inevitably for the location there is some evening noise from the occasional late night holidaymakers but the bedrooms are set back and so insulated from that. Plenty of storage space. We've stayed about four times in recent years and wouldn't consider any where else at this resort!

  • There is a cute bathroom with unlimited hot water and separate loo. The bath has a good shower above it with a glass screen door separating it from the rest of the bathroom. A large hot electric heater so you can have warm bath towels.

  • Description of sleeping capacity: Sleeps 5 (2 Bedrooms) Notes on bedrooms: The flat is ideally suited to a family of four, but can sleep up to five people. Outside: Long Sunny terrace facing the Solaise and Belevarde slopes. Utility Room: No separate Utility room but there is a large ski locker in the ground floor communal hallway - a key for the locker is left in the flat. Please leave the key behind on departure! All skis and sticks should be left here and not brought up to the flat. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen not included. You are free to bring your own or you can hire in the resort from Val Service who will deliver and collect your linen/towel order to our apartment. We have an exceptional French cleaner called Patricia who cleans 1 per week.

Excellent location!

Out to visit our daughter - who is doing a season in Val - fantastic location, bus stop outside - so no walking! Supermarket next door, resatauants close by! And to top it all the weather was fantastic! The apartment is well equipped with everything you need for self catering. Lots of hot water and the luxury of a bath after a hard day on the slopes!!!

Lovely apartment with great central location.

A great apartment with lovely south facing views of the slopes and perfect central location. Plenty of room for all of us as a family of 4 with comfortable living and cooking area. Would definitely like to return soon.

Comfortable apartment, superb location.

The apartment was functional, compact, comfortable and superbly located. It was a great spot to return to after a days skiing. The easy walk to the lifts made getting to and from the ski field very manageable. The lovely view of the mountain and the ski fields out the window was a real bonus. Jane was very helpful and responsive to any inquiries. Highly recommend.

Owner's Response: The apartment is never knowingly let for 6 people - max 5 at a push - and the description specifically says how small spare room is and that there is only one loo.

Excellent Location with amazing views. Deceptively spacious interior with plenty of storage.

The property was in a great location close to all the local amenities,including supermarkets, plenty of restaurants & shops. The Ski bus stop is right outside which takes you all over the resort.

The property was very clean & well maintained and was as described in the description. The view of The famous 'Face Black Run' was truly amazing both in the day & when lit up at night. The instructions from the owner on how to enter the property and find the car park etc were great and very easy to follow.

We had a great week and besides recommending it to our friends we will certainly be going back ourselves.

Travel:

You can fly to any of the following Chambery (1.5 hours) Grenoble (2 hours) Geneva or Lyon (2.5 hours) - these are fastest times for car hire. You can also get a scheduled bus from each of these resorts to Val via Bourg St Maurice. The bus will drop you off opposite the flat - so no hauling of suitcases miles! Alternatively you can get a train from London to Bourg St Maurice and taxi or train up to Val. Finally you can drive from the UK using the Channel Tunnel or Ferry.

Distances:

You are in the centre of Val D'Isere! You don't need to go anywhere else - just ski!

To reserve your stay we require a non-refundable amount of 20% of the booking. The balance of the full amount due (including deposit as per below) is then due on or before 90 days of your arrival date.

A refundable deposit is required of £500 to cover breakage and damage - this will be returned within 28 days of your stay
