A great base to explore the awesome surroundings of Exmoor or a peaceful relaxing holiday surrounded by beautiful countryside a walkers paradise.

The Cottage is within walking distance of the beach and town centre.

The cottage has 2 bedrooms 1 with en-suite shower room, and sleeps 4 people. Main bedroom with double bed, fitted wardrobe and en-suite and feature fireplace.

Bedroom 2 has twin single beds and fitted wardrobe.

Open plan sitting/dining room with smart TV, WIFI, comfortable seating area, dining room with seating for 4 people, books and games.

Hand crafted fitted kitchen with intergrated fridge with freezer compartment, cooker, ceramic hob, belfast sink, microwave and oak worktops.

Downstairs bathroom with bath/shower mixer tap, WC, Sink.

At the rear of the property is an enclosed patio with outdoor seating for 4 and cottage garden.

Hi my name is Verity and my husband is called Lee we have two children Josh aged 14, Kezia aged 12 and Macy the dog.

Lee has lived in Minehead all his life and I was brought up on Exmoor with my family who ran a successful Holiday Cottage business with 4 holiday cottages.

When we found 1 The Cross we knew instantly with a bit of love it would make the perfect holiday cottage for people to enjoy all year round.

We have made every effort to make the cottage the perfect base for your stay and we hope you love it as much as we do.

We know that when you go on holiday you don't want to be taking the essentials with you! so provided for your stay are all the boring basic essentials that you will need for your stay so you can get on with having fun! x

Third return visit still as magical

A very big thank you to Verity and family. Your cottage is outstanding. Your welcome is genuine and warm. This was our third visit and the cottage was as magical as our first visit. We feel at home straight away and didnt want to

leave. The dogs enjoyed the garden and loved running on the beach. We loved the comfy bed and enjoyed a restful sleep. We will be back in 2017.

Fabulous Cottage

We had a really lovely stay in 1 The Cross, the Cottage had everything we needed.

It was exceptionally well presented with lovely décor. The fitting out and use of the space was very well done,

The garden is a lovely retreat.

It had a lovely 'welcome' basket. We were able to park on the road just outside.

The town is a short walk down the hill. The views from the cottage are fabulous. Also, go further up the hill to the vantage point overlooking Porlock Harbour.

Verity checked that we were ok and asked us to just let her know if we needed anything else.

We plan to return to this welcoming, comfortable, lovely retreat for our next getaway.

A little bit of magic

From the moment we crossed the threshold we new that this cottage was a great find. From previous reviews (by others) and talking to Verity prior to booking, we were fairly confident of our choice. The attention to detail in the presentation of this cottage together with its cleanliness made it have a lovely warm homely feel and so we were not disappointed. The added bonus of the totally enclosed garden gave the added sense of security when allowing the other member of our family -Amber (our dog) to roam freely. Fresh flowers and the welcome basket were also a nice touch for when we arrived. Having not been to Minehead previously we found it to have something for all - beaches, wooded walks and lots of dog friendly establishments. Finally, we would like to thank Verity for her warm welcome and hopefully will return in the not to distant future - Lesley, Mike and Amber

We fell in love with this pretty cottage !

We really enjoyed our stay at Verity's cottage. Very pretty and romantic, yet we had everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The garden is a plus point, full enclosed and safe for the dogs. There are also some nice walks from the cottage that you can do without having to get in the car. There is no parking but we always managed to find a space very close to the cottage.

The cottage is immaculately clean and has a lovely feel to it.

We can't wait to come back in the summer and sit in the lovely garden.

OOOOOH...what a lovely cottage....

What a wonderful cottage No 1 The Cross, Minehead is. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would return again definitely. Everything has been well thought out for the visitor without exception and we were even able to take advantage of the lovely patio area in the garden due to the pleasant weather we had in October. It is a wonderful base for exploring the area, even the walk back up the hill from the centre of Minehead wasn't as daunting as we first thought it might be. We did feel a lot fitter by the end of the week!! We would certainly recommend this cottage to our friends and family and anyone else looking for a lovely comfortable and warm cottage in the Minehead area.

A welcoming cottage with good amenities close to the town but in a quiet location

The cottage is well equipped and spotlessly clean. It has been very sympathetically modernised / restored and has every amenity needed for a holiday. The owner is very keen to please and to be helpful. The location is quiet although the Town Centre and sea front are only about 10 minutes walk from the cottage. Visitors should be aware that the walk is very steep to the town and sea, and that available parking is on the road. The road facing out of the cottage is wide and we did not have any problem finding a parking space. Would highly recommend this cottage and location.

Location

We live just down the road and think its such a beautiful part of Minehead to live, we enjoy taking our dog Macy for long walks around North Hill.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

A short 5-10 min walk or 2 min drive to the beach and harbour with enjoyable views on the way.

Distances:

Within walking distance of pubs, restaurants, takeaways, shops, Banks, bus stations , taxis, a short drive to major supermarkets.

Further Details:

Dunster, A short drive, Dunster is a mediaeval village with Dunster castle situated in the middle of the village is a must see. Lovely restaurants and

quirky shops, Humming bird is my favourite shop and is worth a visit.

Butlins, a must if you have children!

Tropiquaria, nr Washford a 10 min drive is fab for young children.

Blenheim gardens café, go and see sue and relax in the mature gardens.

West Somerset railway a heritage railway is a great day out, located on the seafront.

The cottage is located within easy distance for you to explore the amazing woodland of north hill ( you just need to step out the front door!) relax on the beach or discover Exmoor a short drive away.

Lynton & Lynmouth is a 30 min drive along the beautiful coastline, the cliff railway is not to be missed.
