Beautiful cosy cottage in a perfect location

  • 4 of 5

I stayed at the cottage with my Mam and daughter aged 2. We had a lovely relaxing weekend in the lovely Town of Pickering. All of the locals were so friendly and it was great for my daughter with Ann and Martin providing a great travel cot, high chair and safety gate. The cottage is only a couple of minutes walk from Pickering and a lovely friendly pub across the road which had a really good child friendly beer garden. I would highly recommend a stay. Has to be one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed.

Barrow in furness

Lovely little cottage in great location.

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is lovely and a short walk to the village centre with nice pubs and restaurants! The cottage has been recently renovated and both kitchen and bathroom are in excellent condition. The towels and bedding were also very good quality. The only thing to bear in mind are that the stairs are very steep, there is a rope bannister which is a great aid but it is not suitable for anyone who struggles at all with stairs. That said we had a wonderful weekend and will definitely return to the cottage and Pickering area (Thornton le Dale is particularly lovely). Thanks Anne and Martin for a very enjoyable stay!

Owner's Response: Sorry to hear you had difficulty with the oven, you need to have the timer switched on so the oven works. I think it is a manufacturers safety measure so the oven can't accidentally be left on. The instructions are at the end of the work top next to the bread bin.

RIvendell is a beautiful little cottage just a stones throw from the centre of Pickering. The property was extremely well equipped clean and comfortable. Lovely outside area to peacefully have a glass of wine whilst the sun goes down. One thing to be aware of is the steep stairs and the bathroom on the ground floor for anyone who might have mobility problems and a need to visit the WC in the night time. We will definitely return.
