Trowan Farm, having been substantially refurbished, is now a holiday cottage available for lets. Trowan is in Strathearn, Central Scotland, and the house is in a peaceful location facing south with views of Torlum Hill. Behind, to the North, rises Tom na Chastle, ancient seat of The Earls of Strathearn and the site of Sir David Baird’s Monument. The house is at the western end of Trowan Farm which runs about one mile along the River Earn towards Crieff "the gateway to the Highlands". The farmhouse sleeps up to 8 people in 4 double bedrooms: there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs and one bedroom and a loo downstairs. The sitting room has comfortable sofas and a wood burning stove (plenty of cut firewood available) and there is central heating throughout. There is a great selection of books and board games, Wi-Fi and TV for evening entertainment. For summer time there is a barbeque and garden furniture for dining alfresco. The Farmhouse is located at the foot of Tom na Chastle: with Baird's Monument at its top, rising through the trees and only 200 yards from the beautiful River Earn. The Drawing Room, including three comfy sofas (one a sofa bed), Roll-top desk, TV/DVD and open fireplace. The Kitchen, includes electric hob and oven, microwave and dishwasher. There is also a Utility Room next to the kitchen, with a washing machine, tumble dryer and towel wardrobe. The Dining Area, adjacent to the kitchen, with side-board, table, chairs and piano. Main bedroom. Has a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers, and has lovely views both south and east across the farm. The main bathroom with bath and overhead shower. The Second bedroom, with double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and sink unit. With views south. The Second Bathroom, next to the main bedroom, with bath and power shower. Third "boys' bedroom" has two single beds, wardrobe and also looks south. Fourth bedroom that doubles as a games room.

I was born at Trowan Farm and enjoyed a very happy childhood: canoeing, swimming and fishing in the river, exploring the woods, cycling and walking on the farm, playing golf on the many local courses and sailing and water skiing at Loch Earn nearby. It is a beautiful peaceful place where the only sounds are natural and yet the pretty market towns of Crieff and Comrie are only 4 miles away. Local attractions include The Famous Grouse Whisky Distillery, Auchingarrich Wildlife Park, Loch Earn and The Trossachs National Park. There are 3 Munroes within a few miles for the serious walker and many glorious gentler walks: Lady Mary's Walk is one of the prettiest in Scotland: a few minutes walk from the house.
The Farmhouse has plenty of space for car parking and secure storage for bicycles. It is ideal for cycling, walking, fishing and golfing holidays while the Scottish Ski resorts are close by (Aviemore 2 hrs, Glen Shee, Glen Coe 1.5 hrs) My website gives details of cycle hire locally, fishing tariffs and local walks as well as the best local restaurants and cafes.
We all had a lovely time here the house was very comfortable ,warm, and inviting they even put up a Christmas tree. We had a great few days ,very peaceful .
Fabulous historic farmhouse. Pheasant and deer just outside in front pasture. Home is warm, welcoming, more than cozy. It has been updated with everything. House is very adequately heated in the winter. The kitchen is complete and well stocked. The owners even had a Christmas Tree decorated for us. Games for the family and a comfy sitting room for loafing. Crieff is a cute town and Crieff Market is fabulous local food. River close by for summer swimming. Lots of hikes from front door. Stay here!!!!!
We had a lovely family break (8 Adults) and your farm house was just perfect for our needs right down to the milk in the fridge when we arrived (we left ours behind). Warm and cosy when we arrived quite late. Clean and well equipped. Beautiful, quiet and peaceful countryside with lovely easy walking, weather was fresh and dry too.
We absolutely loved our stay at Trowan farmhouse, it's such a fab location - beautifully secluded but not far from Crieff and close to the mountain bike trails at Comrie. We had a wonderful few days and would love to come back for a full week sometime! House itself was very clean and full of character with a fully equipped and spacious modern kitchen. Love!!
A wonderful place. Thank you for sharing it.
House is fantastic, spacious and splendidly isolated.
A wonderful place in a beautiful area.
Thank you John.
