18th Century Town House in Monpazier,Beautifully Restored, Dordogne, France

Updated: 16-Nov-2016
House in Monpazier, Bergerac, Aquitaine / Dordogne, France

The property is situated just 2 minutes walk from the main Monpazier square, which has a good choice of restaurants, two pizzerias, bistro's and the number one on trip advisor restaurant Eleanor. Two supermarkets, bank, cash point, library, tabac, chemist, variety of shops selling locals produce, two butchers, three boulangeries and a market day every Thursday all year round, excelling in spring and summer time and smaller in the winter, selling all fresh produce and a variety of wares. This very quaint town house which was built in 1822 has been beautifully and lovingly restored to a very high standard and everything in it is new.

Petite maison très chaleureuse ultra propre à 2 pas de la bastide de Monpazier, de charmantes attentions. Parfait pour un couple qui cherche un petit nid douillet.

Very comfortable, nicely decorated small house in Monpazier

  • 5 of 5

We had a really enjoyable time staying at this property in Monpazier. It had everything we needed for our short stay in France. Although on a fairly busy road the traffic was never a problem at night (we were out and about during the day anyway and upstairs you can hardly hear it). Parking turned out not to be a problem as we were able to park just a couple of meters further along the road. Very close to the centre of what must be one one of the nicest small towns in Dordogne - bundles of character. Fantastic!

Great location and lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic place in which to stay to discover the Dordogne. Cottage is very well furnished and equipped. Monpazier town is a delight and only minutes away, lots going on, with the market on Thursday and several very good restaurants. We would recommend this cottage very highly.

Good location, nice layout

  • 3 of 5

The village of Montpazier is fantastic. The apartment is nicely laid out with a lot space in the main floor and bedroom. There are a few gaps: cofee maker and vegatable peeler. The unit also opens onto a main road which is a bit of a concern and somewhat noisy at times. Parking is a bit of a distance, not quite next to the unit. We ended parking in the village lot two minutes away. Recommend bistro2 for dinner and cafes on main square for coffee and aperos.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for you review and your comments will be taken on board, however there is a knife block in the house which the smallest of knives can be used for vegetables, but I will get a vegetable peeler in house, for the coffee machine, there isnt one available at this moment in time and it does state that in the information on the website. For the Car parking, I'm amaised that you couldn't get parked in the large public car park almost adjacent to the property, please see photo on the website For the noise, I can not do anything about that, but the photo of the property clearly shows the house on the main road..... Glad you enjoyed the village...

Beautiful cottage, excellent location

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful cottage that is perfectly location in the wonderful medieval town of Monpazier. It is situated just outside the gates into the town. The welcome pack and quality of the finish in the cottage are outstanding. There are a large number of wonderful restaurants within a short walk. It's a short stroll into the town square with its fantastic architecture and delightful pavement cafes. In our view, the perfect place for a Dordogne holiday.
