About The Villa Forfori Team

We are a married couple of 35+ years and have enjoyed visiting the Algarve for most of those years. We have 3, now grown up, children who have loved coming here for their holidays from when they were very young to this day.

We love the climate, the outdoor way of life, the sports facilities especially golf, the beaches, the food, the local people and the relaxed family orientated way of life.

During one of our early visits we got involved with building a property near Almancil which we kept for over 15 years. More recently we acquired a building plot at Vila Sol and built Villa Forfori which we use as often as we can during the winter months. It has all the creature comforts of home which our guests will enjoy during the summer months.

The property and gardens are on split levels so there are some steps both interior and exterior. There is strictly no smoking in the house and sorry no pets are allowed. OUTSIDE: Set in beautifully landscaped gardens and orchard, the terraces and swimming pool benefit from the sun's rays from early morning until sunset. The upper terrace has lounge furniture together with comfortable sunbeds and parasol. The lower, grassed terrace has a large shade sail with comfortable sunbeds adjacent to the swimming pool overflow. The large infinity edge swimming is solar heated and has stone steps in the shallow end but does not have a fence around it. There is a comfortable, illuminated dining area with seating for 8 and a Dancook charcoal BBQ. LAUNDRY ROOM: Laundry room with stainless steel sink, washing machine, tumble drier, clothes airer and ironing facilities. MAID SERVICE / LINEN / TOWELS: All bed linen and towels are provided including bathing towels. We provide a full clean, bed linen & towels change weekly PLUS a mid-week mini clean and towels change. OTHER: Dining area with Sonos music and comfortable leather seating for 8 people. A travel cot and high chair are provided but, please note, cot bedding is NOT provided.

Car: recommended


The Algarve has countless beautiful, uncrowded, clean sandy beaches which stretch for miles. The nearest beach is a 5 minute drive away.


The nearest airport is Faro which is a 20 minute drive away. There are numerous, relatively inexpensive car hire companies operating from there and we feel that car hire is highly recommended to enjoy the many attractions that the Algarve has to offer.


The villa is located within easy reach of Vilamoura, Almancil, Loule and Faro.

Further Details:

The Vila Sol resort has a luxurious 5* hotel, restaurants, golf clubhouse, wine bar, a pub, café, tennis, golf driving range with tuition.

Within a short drive there are numerous large supermarkets including Pingo Doce, Continente, Lidl, Apolonia and Aldi. Further excellent shopping facilities can be found at Quinta do Lago (20 minutes) and Faro shopping (30 minutes). There are also plenty of good restaurants within the local area.

Local attractions include a large waterslide park only 5 minutes away and a go-karting centre in Almancil.

The excellent Vilamoura resort, which is a 5 minutes drive away, has a large marina and numerous first class facilities including tennis, golf courses, electric cycle hire, shopping, numerous restaurants and bars, boat trips and family entertainment etc.

Worth a visit are:-

Faro with its historical military centre, harbour, restaurants and shopping.

The market town of Loule is well worth a visit. It has an historic, recently restored bustling market hall trading wonderful fish and vegetable produce. It is open every day and there is a general market every Saturday. A walk along the Avenue is very pleasant.

The fishing town of Quarteira offers a busy fish and vegetable market, a pleasant waterfront promenade with lots of bars and restaurants. Although it can get very busy during the summer months with its predominantly Portuguese holiday makers, it is always colourful and interesting with an abundance of good restaurants and café bars. It is in stark contrast to the pristine Vilamoura resort which is situated literally next door.

Other towns worthy of note are Tavira, Olhao, Portimao and the mountain towns of Monchique and Sao Bras del Aportel.
