Apartment in Duquesa Village, Costa del Sol, Spain - Peaceful Location but Only 3 Mins By Car To Puerto La Duquesa Or Duquesa Golf Course.Shops Nearby

A lovely 1st floor apartment overlooking one of 5 swimming pools, it is situated only a 3 minute drive from Puerto de la Duquesa a very pretty marina with many restaurants and bars. Light and airy it leads onto a large furnished terrace with sea views. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the view with a glass of local wine!. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms (1 en suite). A spacious living/dinning area and a fully fitted kitchen with a utility room off the kitchen. There is also full reversible air conditioning, patio doors giving onto the terrace from both the living room and master bedroom,it has marble flooring throughout and both bathrooms are tiled with marble too. The apartment is set in mature well maintained gardens. There is 24/7 security as well as a secure parking place in the underground car park. Just minutes from the apartment is La Duquesa Golf Course and of course the bustling Marina. There are many shops nearby in Sabinillas including a very good supermarket ( Super Sol ) which has fresh baked bread. Banks, pharmacies and other amenities are all within a 5 minute drive. Duquesa village is well placed for exploring there are many sandy beaches and rocky coves all along the 150 miles of coastline we are only 25 minutes from Gibraltar from where you can catch a ferry to Morocco. Or just two hours away is the stunning town of Ronda. For those that like skiing we are 2 hours away from the Sierra Nevada mountains, and of course there are many excellent golf courses all along the coast.

Notes on accommodation: No smoking apartment and a welcome bottle of complimentary wine. Please remember to turn off air conditioning and close all patio doors and windows when going out. Outside: Set within mature gardens with 5 swimming pools ( 1 for children). The gardens and the outside areas are well maintained and there is a private security barrier with a 24/7 security guard. Patio private and calm. with a table and 4 chairs giving the option for alfresco dinning, also rattan sofas and table. Utility Room: Washing machine, clothes horse, ironing board, iron, bucket & mop, brooms (indoor/outdoor) hot water tank (100 l). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, beach towels and bed linen provided changed if staying more than 1 week. Other: 2 patios. 1 side with mosaic table & 4 chairs, olive tree, Moroccan lantern + uplight over patio door, view over the swimming pool. other side with rattan corner sofa with table, lemon tree, uplight over patio door, view of swimming pool and the sea.

Beautiful Apartment

Very spacious, well equipped apartment, which is beautifully decorated. The apartment was clean and there was a nice bottle of wine waiting for us. Only downside was the housekeeper didn't show up to let us in, but that was sorted by a very helpful security personnel stationed at the entrance barrier. The apartment is located some 1.5 miles from Duquesa Port, we had hired a car which made things easier. Worth a visit.

We stayed here for one week myself and my two sons aged 15 and 9.

I wanted somewhere walking distance to shops/restaurants and good wifi. This apt seemed to tick the boxes but to make sure I emailed the owner to check and he confirmed 300 m to shops and restaurants and good wifi.

This turned out to be completely untrue.

You need a car for this apt, it is in the middle of nowhere on a massive estate. The nearest shop and restaurant are 1km away down a steep hill. A further 1.5 km gets you to the marina and beach. They are nice with lots of restaurants but not possible to walk. However parking was easy enough and there seemed to be plenty of taxis around if you wanted to get taxis.

The wifi was rubbish. It was a small dongle connected to vodaphone 3G signal. It over heated if you left it on more than 10 min and there was only 1 bar of signal the whole time we stayed.

The apartment is nice, spacious and was lovely and clean. However I found it rather basic. The towels were threadbare, the beds were cheap with thin mattresses and pillows.

The apt overlooks the pool. The sea view is a little misleading. You can only see it if you stand at a certain angle on the terrace. The rest of the view is of the pool.

The pool area is nice with plenty of loungers and very clean.

There is an underground car park which is handy for keeping car secure and cool.

The local tapas cafe 2 min drive away 1km from apt is very friendly and does a nice cappuccino and fresh baguettes every morning which is nice.

The other disappointing aspect of my stay was that it took over 3 weeks to get my deposit money back which I found unacceptable given the apt was left clean and tidy.

Overall it was OK but I doubt I would go and stay again and I felt I had been misled by the owner on my questions which meant when I arrived I was really disappointed which is never a great start to a holiday.

Owner's Response: Hi Becky, Firstly, it was on the site,you need a car for this apartment and we bought a good quality matresses and sheets and nobody complain, new towels, secondly, concerning the Wifi, during july and august, the signal was very bad in Spain and Manilva has not 4G yet and about the deposit, I apologyse, I simply forgot!!! As we speak now, the apartment is spot on and we hope you come back in our apartment as soon as possible. Sincerely. Antoine.

The apartment is absolutely wonderful. It's the kind of holiday home I dream about owning.

From booking to arriving back home our trip was made so easy. The owner replied promptly to all our queries and she couldn't have been more helpful.

I stayed with my seven year old and my two year old .The apartment is beautiful. It was clean and well equips.

As I don't drive I was happy that the super market, beach and port were all in easy reach.

I would definitely rebook and stay here again.

We had a short break of 5 days in this lovely apartment. Everything that you would need was catered for here. You do need a car to get about as it is uphill all the way from the port or taxis are cheap enough.

Very nice apartment

Great apartment in nice area. Well equiped, clean and spacious. Quiet area with large swimming pool. Only downside is that it is situate so far from the Marina area Certainly recommend.

Beautiful apartment in sunny Spain

Lovely place to stay in Spain, the apartment was perfectly situated with a pool view and a shaded terrace perfect for eating outside. We were in the perfect place to explore the coastline which has excellent beaches and the beautiful hills. We would highly recommend Antoine's apartment, it's easy, comfortable and beautifully decorated.

Lovely sandy beaches 5 mins drive from the apartment. "The sunshine coast" has more than 300 days of sunshine a year and the coastline extends more than 150 km with a choice of sandy stretches or secluded rocky coves.

Average temperature in summer 32/35 degrees.


Nearest Airports are Malaga (1 hour). Gibraltar ( 35mins ). Car hire recommended.


Closest town is Sabinillas 3km, Manilva 4km, Estepona 16km, San Pedro de Alcantara 30/40km, Marbella 40/50km, Malaga 98 km. Nearest supermarket (Supersol) at Sabinillas. There are small shops, bars and restaurants at "Puerto La Duquesa" just at the bottom of the hill. We are only 30/35 mins from Gibraltar where ferries are available to go to Morocco. The Sierra Nevada is within a couple oh hours driving also the village of Ronda is a must see.

Further Details:

The marina at "Puerto La Duquesa" only a 3 mins drive away is excellent for dining with a large choice from tapas to steak, via indian, Chinese and Moroccan. Sabinillas, the more Spanish town, has good restaurants & bars all along the seafront. There is a weekly market each sunday in Manilva and a Friday market in Sabinillas. San Pedro de Alcantara, only 30km away has a superb beach with a selection of "chirringitos" (beach bar/restaurant) plus a lively town centre for shopping. Those that like star spotting can be in Marbella in under 30 mins.
