Great location in secure gated community, 3 pools; 10mins from Murcia airport

Our two-bedroom, one-bathroom air-conditioned penthouse apartment with free Wi-Fi is right at the front of the Puerto Marina gated community. It is south-east facing and has sea views from the Juliet balconies in both bedrooms, and from the large, south-facing terrace, which keeps the sun on it all day. It also has panoramic views from our private rooftop solarium, which is beautifully furnished with easy chairs and sunbeds.

Our apartment is perfectly-located for all the essential ingredients of a beach holiday. Everything is within a 15-minute walk on flat terrain, and it's close to Murcia airport, so a car is not needed. Within a 5-minute walk are Lidl and Mercadona supermarkets and a pedestrianised parade of cafes, restaurants, bars and local shops.

Puerto Marina is the most recently-built, secure gated community in Los Alcazares. It is beautifully maintained and pushchair/wheelchair-accessible throughout. It has 3 swimming pools, each with adjacent shallow children's pool, and a high level of security - key access is required to enter through the community's perimeter gates, as well as to each block of apartments.

Within a 10-15 minute walk, at the end of the parade, is an amazing stretch of beach with fine golden sand and the shallow, calm sea water of the Mar Menor lagoon. This is reputed to be up to 5C warmer than the Mediterranean Sea. It is safe for toddlers and its shallow depth means it is home to a wide range of water sports in the summer months. The beach stretches for miles and is flanked by a 4-mile long beachfront promenade which is a year-round home to cyclists, runners, strollers and dog walkers. There are small beach bars/cafes and children's playgrounds at regular intervals.

Good Holiday Apartment

We stayed here for 4 weeks, the apartment had everything you would need to self cater. The complex was beautifully maintained and very safe. The location was great with shops and restaurants within a few minutes. Certainly recommend hiring cycles.

Fabulous apartment with perfect location

This was our first trip to Murcia and it will certainly not be our last. This apartment is in a fantastic location, 5 minutes walk from 3 supermarkets, practically across 2 roads to the main strip which is full of restaurants and bars. And the bonus, less than 10 minutes from the beach and that's walking with 5 year olds. The apartment itself has all the amenities you would need including air con. It's spotlessly clean and has beautiful views from the balcony if you are looking for a quiet night in sitting with a glass of wine or two. The complex pools are beautiful and the kids had hours of fun. Steve, the apartment owner was really helpful and provides plenty of advice on the area and booked us a taxi to and from the airport. 100% recommend this apartment and we will be booking for next year again.

fab apartment Eleanor and Geoff from Scotland

Fab apartment everything you could possibly need and more for a holiday home, spotlessly clean and great complex, Steve made everything so easy and always answered our emails quickly. We have been to the area may times before but this by far the best apartment we have stayed in. So close to the great restaurants and bars never had a bad meal yet, something for everyone from Chinese Indian Italian Mexican even a fab chippy. would definitely recommend the apartment for couples or young families.

Relaxing, stress free and comfortable

This property is one of the best we have stayed in! From first enquiry to returning home, Steve's communication has been quick, thorough and helpful. The property itself is very clean and equipment and furniture is of excellent quality. The transfer with his agent was quick and she was extremely friendly and helpful too. We had 5 adults staying in the property and there was more than enough room for us all with plenty of seating inside and outside on the balcony and roof terrace. We have been coming to Los Alcazares for 10 years and will continue to do so, as the town and facilities have everything we need just a stroll away. We did have access to a car this year and went on a few trips up and down the coast which added to make this year's holiday fantastic. We didn't want to come home and will be definitely be booking again. Tricia, David and family, near Leeds.

Perfect

This was our 4th visit to the area and this lovely apartment has been the best for location and comfort. Everything is there right down to ice lolly moulds for my 4yr old! Plastic bowls, plates and cutlery for her too! The beds are very comfortable .....a real plus when on holiday. Free WIFI is great.and the Aircon when needed is quiet . Ceiling fans are enough to keep cool during the night. The view from the balcony is perfect for breakfast as well as a glass of Cava after dinner!!. Utility/solarium upstairs is good as keeps washing out of the apartment/balcony , brilliant for slipping away for sunbathing in peace! Pools are spotless and not too heavy with chlorine. The complex is not too busy , and more family orientated than others in the area but still quiet enough. We have booked to go back!

Another Fab Holiday In Los Alcazares

Fab apt. Stayed at this complex numerous times, but this is definitely 1 I'll be recommending - very modern, spacious and the roof terrace and balcony are fab places 2 unwind. Ideally located for lots of lovely restaurants and a short walk to the beach.

We viewed properties up and down the Costa Calida and southern Costa Blanca and found Los Alcazares was the location that had everything we were looking for within walking distance, and close to the airport. We believe Puerto Marina is the best secure community in the town.

Our apartment is ideal for cyclists, walkers, runners or triathletes looking for gentle year-round exercise or warm-weather training. We can recommend local cycle hire shops.

Coast/Beach:

Within a 10-15 minute walk is an amazing stretch of beach with fine golden sand and the shallow, calm sea water of the Mar Menor lagoon. This is reputed to be up to 5C warmer than the Mediterranean Sea. It is safe for toddlers and its shallow depth means it is home to a wide range of water sports in the summer months.

The beach stretches for miles and is flanked by a 4-mile long beachfront promenade. There are small beach bars/cafes and children's playgrounds at regular intervals.

Travel:

A 5-10 minute car/taxi journey from Murcia/San Javier airport or a 50-60 minute transfer from Alicante.

Everything is within a 15-minute walk on flat terrain so a car is not needed.

The Murcia region has possibly the best climate in Spain, with monthly average temperatures of over 20C from April to November, and rain on only 40 days per year on average.

Within a 5-minute walk are supermarkets and a pedestrianised parade of cafes, restaurants, bars and local shops. The restaurant selection is high quality but well-priced and includes Chinese, Indian, Italian, Bistro-style, Mexican, American, traditional Spanish and English foods (there is one fish and chip shop and a pasty shop)! There is a wide choice for vegetarians. The Spanish tapas are wonderful.

Nearby:

Golf - wide selection of high-quality courses nearby including Roda, Mar Menor and La Serena golf resorts in Los Alcazares itself. The Golf 525 shop, a 5-minute walk from our apartment, will book tee times at 21 local courses

Golf Delux – the “biggest artificial grass adventure golf course in continental Europe”!

Kitesurfing - surf schools along the beach in Los Alcazares through the summer months

Cycling - there are a number of nearby cycle hire shops, whether you want to take a leisurely ride along the beachfront promenade or get some warm weather training in. Tour de France cyclist Alejandro Valverde is from the area and has been known to lead off an occasional ride!

Boat trips to La Manga - day trips are available from Los Alcazares in high season, and from San Javier/Santiago de la Ribera (around 10 mins away by car) at other times

A wide range of other beaches up and down the Costa Calida and southern Costa Blanca

The beautiful cities of Cartagena (20 mins away) or Murcia (40 mins)

Decent range of shops and a ten-screen cinema at the Dos Mares shopping centre (10 mins)

Booking Notes:
All bookings require a deposit of £100/€125 to secure the booking. This will not normally be refundable. Balance of booking fees is due six weeks before arrival date. Additionally required at this time is a £150/€175 security deposit which will be refunded in full after departure unless required to fund damages, lost keys or excess cleaning.

There is a small supplement of £6/€8 on parties of five to cover the additional laundry costs we incur.

Winter season long-term stays (at least one month) prices negotiable. Stays of less than one week will be considered upon request.

Prices quoted above include cleaning, bath and hand towels, use of internet and a safe and, where required, high chair and travel cot.

Air conditioning is on a meter (€10 per week provided free). We have installed the meter reluctantly due to the high costs of running air conditioning and is only a contribution to the actual electricity costs. We have installed ceiling fans to reduce A/C need.

  • Notes on accommodation: Our apartment was bought in March 2015 and refurbished early April 2015. No smoking inside the apartment but allowable in outside areas.
