Belvedere provides the perfect coastal and rural retreat. Situated in a private lane, in the picturesque village of Mortehoe, in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With simply spectacular, uninterrupted sea views. Walk through the gate at the bottom of the garden directly onto National Trust land and the coastal path leading to the fabulous local beaches.

Rockham and Grunta are our favourite local beaches for rock-pooling and building beach BBQs.

Woolacombe Beach offers an expansive 3 miles of golden sand with a back drop of un-spoilt sand dunes. A favourite family holiday destination and a water-sports paradise. Voted best beach in the UK in 2016 and 5th best beach in Europe 2016. (Traveller's Choice Awards 2016).

Mortehoe is a charming, peaceful, picturesque village with 2 pubs, a post-office, a village store, a tea shop, a cafe, a fish and chip shop, a home-cooked food take-away, a church, a museum and a children's play park.

Belvedere is a detached, spacious, luxurious, contemporary family holiday home with a classically 'sea-side' interior. Perfectly set up to luxuriously accommodate 10 people. Whether you are a large family, two families sharing or a group of friends sharing, you can stay in style and comfort.

Belvedere is uniquely located for many types of holiday throughout the year. Whether you are interested in a beach holiday, country and coastal walks, excellent local pubs, water-sports, horse-riding, golf, cycling, clay pigeon shooting, or simply a 'get away from it all' type of holiday, Belvedere is perfectly located for all.

Outside:

At the front of the property there is a courtyard garden and ample parking on the driveway for 3-4 cars.

At the rear of the property there is a large patio area, steps down to a hot tub, steps down to terraced flower beds, steps down to the lawn. Gated access to National Trust land and coastal path / beaches.

The entrance hall leads to all downstairs rooms and an oak stair case leading upstairs.

Kitchen/Diner/Family Room: This very large room has a 'classically sea-side' feel with slate grey floor tiles, white wooden kitchen units and oak worktops. The centre piece of the kitchen is the fabulous table made from re-claimed oak beams, it seats 10 people with space at each end for high chairs if needed.

The table is strategically located perpendicular to the bi-fold doors enabling all diners to enjoy the sea view. The bi-fold doors open out to the patio.

At the other end of the kitchen is a family area with a big comfortable sofa, wall mounted t.v and a large oak window seat strewn with rugs and cushions. If you are staying in the winter months, you will appreciate the warmth from the under-floor heating.

Off the kitchen there is a separate utility room.

Lounge: The large lounge has spectacular sea views and bi-fold doors out onto the patio. 2 large comfortable sofas, footstool, log burning stove, t.v, DVD player, coffee tables.

The large coffee table is a treasure trove of games, books, DVDs, help yourself, sit back and relax!

Downstairs w/c with toilet and basin.

Large hall cupboard to store coats and shoes.

Bedroom 5: A spacious ground floor bedroom with a view of the country lane. This bedroom offers flexible sleeping options. Choose from one single bed, two single beds or one king-size bed. Bedside tables with reading lamps, chest of drawers, clothes rail.

Upstairs:

Bedroom 1: The Master suite includes a very large luxurious bedroom, separate dressing room and an en-suite bathroom. The bedroom has large French windows opening to a Juliette balcony and spectacular sea views. There is a super-king size bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, dressing table with mirror and hair-dryer.

The generous en-suite bathroom has a large shower cubicle, toilet, sink with vanity unit and mirror.

The floor tiles are anti-slip and there is under-floor heating and a heated towel rail.

The dressing room is large and has ample storage space for suitcases. There are shelves and hanging rails for clothes.

Bedroom 2: A very large, luxurious bedroom with an en-suite bathroom and built in wardrobe. This bedroom has large French windows opening to a Juliette balcony and spectacular sea views.

King size bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, dressing table with mirror and hair-dryer.

The en-suite bathroom has a shower cubicle, toilet, sink in a vanity unit and a mirror. The floor tiles are anti-slip and there is under-floor heating and a heated towel rail.

Fantastic property in an idyllic location.

The owner Andrea provided all of the information to make the holiday easy to organise.From travel directions to days out & the best restaurants.

The property is spotless with 2/3 parking spaces.Very comfortable underfloor heating ,unrestricted sea views,huge kitchen with all appliances you could possibly need.Large 10 seater Dinning table with views across the Atlantic.

Master bedroom with walk in wardrobe & en suite with tri fold doors onto the balcony that has sea views & 2 other bedrooms with sea views.The garden is stunning & the jacuzzi a real joy to relax with sea views once more.I thoroughly recommend Belvedere. Regards Nick & Michele Smith

Stunning house in a beautiful location, as close to perfection as you can get!

1st impressions as you enter the house is "wow what a view!" Absolutely breathtaking viewpoint of the North Devon coastline. The house is beautifully decorated with plenty of space for our family of 11 (6 adults, 2 teenagers, 2 children and a toddler) oh and not forgetting the dog! The huge kitchen/diner easily catered for family meals - I want that table!! And the hot tub gave hours of fun for both old and young.

The most precious memory of our holiday was made at Rockham beach, an almost secret, secluded spot which is accessible by following the coastal path at the bottom of the garden for a 10/15 minute walk - great for making beach fires and toasting marshmallows.

I'd highly recommend this property and can't wait to book a return visit.

Exceptional property, location and views

Choosing to stay at Belvedere turned out to be the best decision we could have made to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary with our family group comprising 6 adults & 4 children (aged 14 months to 12 years). Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac, clean, tastefully decorated and close to many of North Devon's beautiful beaches. The kitchen was well equipped with lots is space. The dining table seated us all easily. The impressive view from the rear of the property overlooked the sea. The garden was stunning, filled with colour and attracting lots of butterflies on the buddleia. The huge patio provided excellent space for relaxing and enjoying the views, with the large hot tub a favourite, especially night time star gazing. There is plenty of opportunity for walking starting from the property. The pretty village of Mortehoe Is a short walk away providing access to pubs, post office, small shop and tea rooms. Andrea was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The welcome basket and card an unexpected and lovely touch. We would thoroughly recommend this luxury property for a family holiday/celebration.

Belvedere,beautifully situated and presented.

Our family gathering was well served by being in this property,we appreciated Andrea's helpfulness and thoughtful welcome.We enjoyed the stunning situation and easy access to the coastal path. Everyday groceries and newspapers available a few minutes walk away.

We found the large kitchen/dining area with room to sit as well very practical for us all,as well as a lounge we could all relax in.The games both indoor and outdoor were used,and the hot tub enjoyed.

The house was clean,with the kitchen well equipped.

Thank you for sharing your property for the 10 of us to enjoy a happy and memorable week .

Incrediable house and setting!

Wow, we had such an amazing time at Belvedere. The house was amazing!! It was immaculate with more than enough equipment. The views were just breath taking. We can't rave about this property enough!

The property owner Andrea was so friendly and helpful. She really couldn't do enough to help and make sure we had a brilliant time.

We will defiantly be returning and would highly recommend this house to our friends and family.

1st Class

First class through and through. It was a pleasure dealing with the owner Andrea, the attention to detail was outstanding. The house was perfect and suited needs of the three generations of our family. It had everything you could need and the welcome basket was a lovely touch. The village was very quite and well serviced with local store, post office, take away and two pubs although not all opened in the winter. The views from property were stunning and it is in a perfect location to start some lovely walks. Overall a perfect stay for New Year and we are hoping to return in the summer. Would highly recommend.

Coast/Beach:

Fabulous local beaches within easy walking distance:

Rockham beach 10 min walk down coastal path (not accessible by car). Great for rock-pooling and beach BBQ's. See if you can spot the rusted remains of the ship wreck!

Grunta beach 15 min walk down coastal path (not accessible by car)

Woolacombe beach 25 min walk down road, slightly longer if you take the coastal path or why not try the cross country path via Mortehoe village car park? 5 min drive, ample parking at beach.

Distances:

Belvedere is located in the village of Mortehoe.

25 minute walk to Woolacombe, 5 mins drive.

15 minute drive to Illfracombe.

1.4 miles to Bull Point Lighthouse.

Easy access to the Tarka Trail and local bike hire.

Further Details:

Guests with young children are advised that while the roads into Mortehoe and Woolacombe are easily accessible with pushchairs, the coastal route is rather rugged and there are lots of steps. We advise using a baby carrier rather than a pushchair.
