Villa in Mons, Var, Provence-Alpes-Cote DAzur, France - Beautiful, Peaceful Location Close To Villages And Beaches

Our house sits on a private estate in the hills above Fayence close to the villages of Callians and Mons. It has grounds of around 1.5 acres and benefits from a heated pool and extensive outside living space. Inside there are 4 double bedrooms plus an annexe with another double bed and day bed with space for 2 children The annexe also has a separate kitchen and bathroom and can be fully self contained. the main house is open plan, it has high ceilings and lends itself to large parties. It has a large open fire with guard and the entire length of the house has views over the garden and pool areas. The gravel driveway has electric gates and parking for numerous cars. There is a main lawn that boasts olive trees and extensive landscaped gardens that have feature lighting and a timed irrigation system. The house is fully air-conditioned and also has outside air-conditioning over the dining area. A further Indonesian Dining house is great fun for Al-fresco dining by the pool. Ps New for 2017. The pool has a new alarm system, there is now Apple TV, a nespresso machine with capsules and super fast Wi-Fi.

Why simon hamilton chose Mons

We bought this house in December 2014 as we love the area and have been on holiday here a few times. We have been looking for a holiday home for a while and this was perfect for our requirements.

The area is beautiful with beaches and skiing within an hour ! depending on the time of year of course. You cant beat the restaurants and wine here. If your looking to spend time with the family there's loads to do. Our first official holiday to the house was in February when we stayed for 7 nights with 8 friends and our 2 children. We visited the ski resorts and L'Audiberge and Greolieres Les Neige. We had a fantastic week and learned the house lends itself to large parties very well indeed.

What makes this villa unique

There is plenty of outdoor space at the house. Every bedroom has a terrace so if you have a large party you can have some seclusion outside your bedroom. The pool benefits from a shallow end where children can play. There is numerous outdoor dining options including a bespoke Indonesian style dining hut which is great fun in the sun. There is also out door air conditioning which squirts tiny streams of water which keeps you cool whilst sun-bathing. The garden is completely secluded and is extensive with feature planting and an olive tree on the main lawn.

Notes on accommodation: There are 2 double bedroom downstairs plus an annexe that can sleep 2 adults and 2 children. It has its own kitchen and bathroom. Upstairs are 2 further double bedrooms with a main bathroom and WC. There is also storage space upstairs. Outside: There are extensive outsive living areas including a heated pool and an Indonesian Dining House. There are various loungers and feature lit shrubbery and an olive tree sits on the main lawn. There is a purpose built BBQ and outside kitchen/ storage area. Utility Room: washing machine/ tumble. Ironing utilities. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All towels and linen are provided and a cleaning service is available on request. Other: The dining are has a very social feel with a large round table with views overlooking the garden.

September 2017 Mons Holiday

Perfect villa with plenty of space and rooms for a group gentlemen on a motorcycle exploration of the Magnificent Alps. The Villa was perfect for our requirements, very well presented and comfortable with everything we should need included. Set in a quiet peaceful location it is a lovely place to just relax and soak up some sun, evenings outside by the BBQ which cooked beautifully are a must and the pool is heated to make getting in a pleasure!

The Hamiltons are easily contactable in case of any issues but we had no need to trouble them, it is their holiday home too so everything was in order.

The garage was very useful to us to store all the motorbikes and carry out general maintenance. The property is very safe and secure with electric gates and garage door, it is always nice to know that they are locked up safe and secure.

Highly recommended villa in a beautiful area, we hope to return next year.

Peaceful location. Excellent property with great facilities.

My family and I had a wonderful week at this property. It is located in the hillside and is so peaceful. We did not hear another human the whole time we were there :-). The villa is nice inside, and the annexe is a great addition to the living space. The outside space is brilliant and the pool heater worked great and kept the chill off the water. In fact we had to lower the temperature as the water wasn't cool enough! The pool alarms are good and work really well. The owner is very responsive and the local 'house manager' is very friendly and speaks many different languages. I travelled with 3 young children and the outside space and garden is great for them to wander and explore when they are not in the pool. There are a number of small towns within 10 minutes driving time but nothing within walking distance. The views from Mons are spectacular and well worth a visit. We also made a day trip to Gorge Du Verdon, which is amazing and the water park in Frejus with the little ones. If you want to stay somewhere that feels like it is in the "middle of nowhere" but in reality is only 10 minutes from "somewhere" then this is the place for you!

The pool heater is new for 2017 and has been very well received by all of our guests this year, particularly those with younger children. We are adding some exciting features for 2018 including an outside bar/BBQ area with extended seating and feature lighting. We enjoy the location as we are a very busy family while in the UK and this was one of the key attributes on our list when we purchased the property. Thanks again.

A fantastic villa located near Callian on a quiet private estate

We spent a wonderful week in this fantastic villa, fully equipped, spacious with heated swimming pool. Located in a secluded neighbourhood. You could not wish for anything better.

Amazing villa the photos do not do it justice

We had a wonderful family holiday in the villa Chesnaye there were 7 adults and 3 children. The pool and outside area was amazing, clean and well maintained. Every thing had been thought of by the owners, all those little extras that you don't normally get in a rental property. Highly recommend and would stay there again.

Car: necessary


Cannes, Frejus and St Raphael beaches are within 40 minutes.

St Tropez is about an hour.

Monaco is about an hour.

The lakes at Fayence are 20 minutes and are fantastic fun in the summer.


Flying-Nice Airport (Easyjet, BA, Monarch) - 45 minutes (car hire recommended to fully explore the region)

Driving - Approximately 750 miles from Calais.

Train - Eurostar - St Pancras to Paris/ Paris to frejus/ St Raphael.


The villages -

Callians - about 8 minutes

Mons - about 10 minutes

Fayence - 20 minutes

The location of the house is perfect for any typre of holiday required. Its within easy reach for beaches, bustling markets and water fun in the summer and less than an hour from 2 great ski resorts in the winter.

We chose this house as we love enjoying time away with family and friends and thought it was one of the most beautiful places we had seen.
