Villa With Private Pool In The Midst Of The Beautiful Umbrian Countryside

Overview

Property

Updated: 24-Oct-2016
Villa in Pietralunga, Umbria, Italy - It Is A Haven Of Peace And Tranquility Within Easy Reach Of Some Of Italy's Great Cultural Centres

The property has been lovingly restored by its present owners. It was originally a 17th century farmhouse that has now, certainly inside, the feel of a 'palazzo'.All rooms are large and the property is very light. There are 4 very generous bedrooms,3 ensuite, with 3 double beds and 2 singles. There is also a seperate shower on the ground floor. There is wifi, satellite TV and the pool can be heated at a small additional fee.The pool is 12mx6m.The villa is set in 117 acres of land that consists of meadows, woodland and rolling hills. It is very private and yet very close to some incredibly beautiful towns like Assissi, Arezzo, Cortona, Perugia, Todi and many more. The beautiful hilltop town of Montone is a 10 minute drive.

About the Owner

Both my wife and I are involved in the arts.My wife was,for many years a ballerina performing with some of the most prestigious companies and choreographers in the world.I am an actor who has worked extensively in the USA,the UK and Europe. My wife is also an interior designer and we both created the design for our property. When we found Col di Casale it was a total ruin with no roof and the floors had fallen in.It took a tremendous amount of work, dedication and love to create our special retreat from the world. In September 2014 the house featured in a 14 page spread in Ville & Casale one of Italys top interior design magazines

Absolutely stunning

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had our four daughters (25, 23, 19 and 15) and two nieces (20 and 16) for a chill-out holiday in the Umbrian hills. Villa Col Di Casale was just perfect; it is stunningly beautiful, wonderfully equipped and set in an unbelievably peaceful location a few minutes drive from the beautiful village of Montone.

When not enjoying the peace and serenity of the poolside we spent time walking in the local hills, both on horseback and on foot, and visiting several historic towns.

I couldn't recommend this villa more highly.

Absolutely fantastic accommodation and location

  • 5 of 5

The description and photos of the property and location are accurate but does not do the property justice, you need to see it to believe it, it exceeded our expectation on all levels.

The decoration of the villa is exquisite, all the facilities that you would expect and need were available and to a very high standard, I would suggest that no expense has been spared, but it is more than this a lot of thought has been put in to making this a home from home experience.

The property was immaculate and cleaned two times a week inside and out, the property manager was approachable, very helpful and accessible at any time for helpful tip on what to see and where to go.

The mountain top village of Monotone is approx. 4 km away and has to be seen to believed, it has a good atmosphere and lots of good restaurant. During our stay we visited Rome, Lucca, Pizza, and Florence which are all within driving distance.

I would certainly recommend this property to friends and relatives. Our reason for going was for a once in a lifetime family occasion and we were no disappointed, I just hope we have an excuse to revisit in the future.
