Buddlestone is set in a peaceful farm location on the Lands End Penisula, 1/4 mile from village amenities and within a few miles of beaches and coves & pretty Lamorna Valley

Set at the end of the owners’ private drive approximately ¼ mile from the traditional Cornish village of St Buryan. Buddlestone originally formed part of the owners’ grade 2 listed traditional period farmhouse (adjoining) and offers a peaceful setting from which to explore the many magnificent beaches, gardens and historical countryside West Cornwall has to offer. Buddlestone, at Bosliven Farm, is set in the middle of the scenic Lands End Penisula, half way between Lands End itself and the harbour town of Penzance and close to the famed artists retreat of Lamorna Valley/Cove and the pretty wooded cove of St Loy.

Buddlestone offers spacious accommodation inside and out and is perfect for families or those looking for somewhere to holiday with their dogs. Although spacious enough for a family of 6 (plus cots), Buddlestone also offers the perfect retreat for couples with its homely feel, due in part to its cosy wood burner set inside the impressive granite fireplace. A real feature of the property is its large private garden, laid mainly to lawn with established and young fruit trees (guests are welcome to make use of the abundant apples when ripe). The perfect place in the country to get away from the rat race and to explore the beauty of Cornwall, be it by foot, bicycle, car or just soaking up the sun on our gorgeous local beaches, yet close enough to everyday amenities or the bustling market and harbour towns of Penzance and St Ives with all their culture history.

On arrival you will find wine chilling in the fridge and a traditional Cornish Cream Tea laid out for you to enjoy around the farmhouse kitchen table. We welcome well behaved dogs (2) who can enjoy the enclosed garden or local dog friendly beaches by day and stretch out in front of the fire by night.

Outside you can relax in the large private garden and enjoy a glass on the patio or in the relaxing conservatory while the children play. On cooler evenings light the wood burner and snuggle up under a cosy throw on one of the sofas.

Located in the far west of Cornwall, the historic parish of St Buryan dates from the 6th century and lies at the heart of the Land's End peninsula amidst green fields. The impressive tower of St Buryan Church is a famous landmark, visible from far out to sea. Here you will find local amenities including dog friendly pub, shop, garage, post office. An area of outstanding natural beauty, it is ideally placed to explore the many fascinating sites and beautiful coasts of West Cornwall.

The beautiful coves and white sandy beaches of both coasts on the Land's End Peninsula are all within 10 minutes drive of Buddlestone. The coastal path can be accessed a few minutes drive away, or walk the inland field paths to the coast. A 12 minute drive will take you back to Penzance where you will find a variety of shops and most of the major supermarkets. For those looking for cultural inspiration Penzance has numerous galleries that reflect West Cornwall's distinguished reputation in the international art world, along with The Tate, St Ives. While in Penzance why not sample some of the award winning cuisine on offer in and around the town. For those wishing to explore the beautiful gardens of Cornwall, Trewidden and Trengwainton are within 10 minutes drive of Buddlestone, further afield Trebah, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and The Eden Project are all within an hour to an hour a half, to name but a few.

Buddlestone offers a real home from home to relax and enjoy the surrounding countryside, a great base from which to explore the Land's End Peninsula offering one of the most treasured landscapes in Europe, famed for its scenic beauty and for the richness of its prehistoric and industrial archaeology, idyllic beaches, golden granite cliffs and lonely moorland. Fabulous for a family stay

We've just returned from Buddlestone. I would wholeheartedly agree with the other reviewers - the cottage exceeded our expectations in every way. We have 5 children and a dog, and it was spacious enough inside and out for us to be totally comfortable.

Vicky provided a great welcome and some lovely added extras - including a bottle of wine for us and an Easter egg hunt kit for the children.

The location was great for a week exploring this wonderful county.

Beautiful, tranquil, and comfortable

We would highly recommend this holiday let to anybody.

Our family (2 adults 3 children and a dog!) had a wonderful time in this spacious and comfortable cottage. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and worked hard to provide great hospitality, while the cottage itself was lovely and well kept.

The cottage is a perfect place for a family - comfortable enough to stay in even on days when we didn't go out, and with enough space for us to be comfortable indoors and out.

The location is also perfect - close to so many local attractions and areas of sheer beauty ..... if you;re going to stay at Buddlestone you may want to book it for a month .... you're not going to want to leave

Highly recommend!

Highly recommend a stay at Buddlestone cottage! Fantastic place with everything you can think of. As for the owners wow they go above and beyond! We have just come back from spending Christmas there and Vicki thought of everything and really made us feel special even down to sprinkle Christmas glitter to our door to make it look like Santa had really been! My nephews loved it! Thank you so much! X

Beautiful Countryside Retreat

We had a wonderful stay at Buddlestone Cottage. Huge garden for the kids to run and play in, lovely cosy cottage with plenty of space and very peaceful! Vicki was so welcoming and had a cream tea waiting for us upon our arrival. Great location, near to loads of beautiful beaches and coves and the stunning scenery that Cornwall has to offer. Would love to return for another holiday!

Buddlestone, our perfect holiday home!

Buddlestone as a holiday home can be recommended by us full heartedly. It is a luxuriös, beautifully equipped and well maintained property. The Listing Description was very accurate and we even were given a to exercise our dog in Addition to our Garden. Doggie and whole family inclusive Kids and Teens were made feel at home and well Carey for by owner Vicky. She was very kind to us, helped with every question, booked Restaurants via her phone and provided everything we needed.

We all can fully recommend Buddlestone. We will Love to spend another holiday there ourselves.

Our favourite activity was bathing at dog friendly Gwinver Beach near Sennen Cove and seeing the Dolphins Jump there.

Once again thanks to Vicky and her lovely family!

St Buryan is a friendly village to bring up a family, it is where my husband is from and many of the family still live in and around the village. Lying at the heart of the Lands End Peninsula in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is everything you could wish for within a short drive. We are within 10 minutes of all the town amenities of Penzance, including it's shopping centre, galleries, fine eateries, night life and even the vineyard. We have all the beauty of West Cornwall right on our doorstep, from sheltered wooded valleys to lonely and wild heathland. Some of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall on both coasts are all within a few miles, as is the coastal path with its breath taking views. Why would you want to live anywhere else!

Parking/facilities; Porthchapel 4.4ml Beautiful small beach but not easily accessible to pushchairs etc.; Porthgwarra 5.5ml Small fishing village, small beach in deep narrow inlet. Parking/facilities (seen in Poldark); Whitesand Bay 4.6ml mile of white sand from Sennen to Gwenver (dogs), popular with families & surfers. Parking/facilities, lifeguard.

Travel:

Rail & Coach - Penzance Station is approx. 6.1mls from Buddlestone and is the terminus of national rail and bus services from London and from major centres in the rest of Britain.

For basic provisions, there is a Londis and a Premier store in St Buryan village, as well as a fortnightly farmers market.

West Cornwall offers some amazing cuisine, with a growing number of award winning eateries. A personal family favourite is the lovely little family run 2 Fore Street restaurant in the pretty old fishing village of Mousehole (4.5mls).

For something really special, why not take a trip to the beautiful sub tropical Isles of Scilly, 28 miles off the coast of West Cornwall. Flights from Lands End Airport (4 miles) via Skybus, or catch the ferry from Penzance, The Steamship Company.

We gladly welcome well behaved dogs (max.2) at an additional charge of £15 per dog (for the total stay). N.B. dogs are not to be left unattended at the property and any damage caused must be paid for.

Changeover Day:
For 7 or 14 night stays we operate a Saturday changeover. Guests may arrive from 3pm and depart by 10am. Between 2nd week in October and April we can offer shorter stays (min. 2 nights) and can often be flexible on changeover day. Open all year.

Notes on prices:
For 7 & 14 night stays, we operate a Saturday change over. You may arrive from 3pm & depart no later than 10am. Outside of peak season we offer short stays (min 2 nights) with flexible change over.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking, with the remaining total balance due no later than 5 weeks prior to arrival date. Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: No smoking policy inside the property. WiFi access. Initial fuel for wood burner provided, available locally thereafter. BBQ available, however, we do ask that it is left cleaned! Up to 2 dogs welcome (additional charge). We operate a Saturday changeover. Flexible start for short stays from 2nd week Oct to April, (excluding holidays) are available. Where a minimum of 7 nights is indicated, we may at our discretion, offer shorter stays if the week has not been booked 2 weeks prior to the start date, so it is always worth giving us a call for last minute short stays/flexible start. Utility Room: In the utility room, assessed from the kitchen, you will find a washing machine, freezer, iron, ironing board, clothes horse/airer, washing basket & pegs, hoover & cleaning equipment. There is also a high chair, stair gates, barbeque utensils and torch. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen is provided (except cot linen), along with 2 bath towels & 1 hand towel pp. Beach towels available to hire. The property is fully cleaned before your arrival & usually for 1 hour during the week. For 2 week stays a fresh set of linen is provided. Other: Large sunny conservatory overlooking the garden. Tiled floor, large sofa and chairs, leads onto garden. There is also a porch off the kitchen for muddy boots leading directly onto the patio and garden. Sun loungers, parasol, cricket set, garden skittles. Outside: Large enclosed private garden, laid mainly to lawn with established and young fruit trees. Parking for 2 cars (additional parking by arrangement). Well behaved dogs welcome, max 2 (additional charge £15 per dog).
