About the Owner

This has been our second home for 12 years and we have loved spending time here and have got to know the area well. Work commitments mean we can’t be there as often as we would like so we share our home as a holiday let.

Marvellous stay in this beautiful cottage

  • 5 of 5

The location is quite lovely. The house is accessed either by the parking spot on the road or by steps up from the woods. Inside, it's really comfortable. The kitchen is really well equipped, the beds comfy. Our (many) children loved playing in the heated pool and watching the DVDs provided. The house was immaculately clean and very nicely presented.

Close by, the Kingswood Bar and Restaurant is a short walk and serves good food. The Polgooth Inn is close by and serves fantastic food. It's also very dog friendly and has a nice beer garden. Pentewan Sands is either a drive or a walk away. We walked by the river and along the trail.

Loved our time here. We were close enough to everything but away from any hustle and bustle.

Wonderful cottage set in beautiful countryside

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a lovely week at Sunny Corner, a brilliant base for exploring Cornwall. We visited Port Isaac, Fowey, Polperro, Looe, The Lizard, Boscastle, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and not forgetting the lovely nearby Mevagissey. Would recommend a visit to them all. We also walked the Pentewan Trail and enjoyed a tasty lunch at The Ship Inn in Pentewan. We found the cottage to be superb, well equipped and homely. The owner Steph has thought of everything needed (what a collection of DVDs and books to choose from). A very helpful approachable lady too. We made use of the heated swimming pool everyday and spent many an hour watching the squirrels and birds feeding. (Lots of nuthatches and jays) Would thoroughly recommend this quirky cottage but please remember some doorways are low!!!!!

Beautful and totally relaxing

  • 5 of 5

My family and myself really enjoyed our holiday at Sunny Corner in Cornwall. It was a beautiful cottage and the garden and grounds were exquisite. The heated pool was perfect - all the children and adults alike really had a wonderful time. It was extremely relaxing and as the weather was excellent we just enjoyed being there. The Owner, Steph, did everything she could to help make our stay comfortable and we were made very welcome. It was a privilege for us to share her lovely home for the week.

There was plenty to do around that beautiful area. There was a lovely walk by the river to Pentewan which was great if you had a dog too. The main road was quite busy but once across that there were some great walks around the hills. The area is devastingly lovely around that part of Cornwall and to be honest I didn't want to leave. There are many places of interest to visit, like Caerhays Castle where you can visit the magnificent gardens and which is flanked by Porthluney Beach which is great for children and to take the dog. Mevagissey is a busy picturesque little town with a very busy and interesting harbour and good pubs, restaurants etc. One of our favourite pubs was The Polgooth Inn. That was on the opposite side of the road to the cottage and up a hill if you wished to walk. That was a lovely walk as at this time of the year (early June) the hedgerows in Cornwall are glorious. We found The Polgooth Inn extremely friendly, childfren friendly, excellent food and a very pleasant ambrience.

Altogether a lovely holiday.

Good family holiday home

  • 4 of 5

House was easy to find courtesy of the directions from the owner. Plenty of off road parking despite being on a busy road. House is well equipped and the outdoor heated pool was a real bonus. We were a party of 10, with ages ranging from 10 years old to senior citizens and the house accommodated us all very well. Just one minor point to consider… Be prepared to duck through doors if you are taller than 6’.

From the house it is a level walk to Pentewan beach and for the more energetic you can carry along the coastal path to Mevagissey.

Communication with the owner was excellent.
