About John Newman

Originally from Carmarthenshire we decided on retirement to purchase a property in the region so that we could retain close contact with family and friends.

Over the past months we have realised how fortunate we were in finding this location - more by accident than design I have to admit!

Easily reached from the M4, we are a 2 minute walk from the coastal path and a mile from the Machynys golf club.

The house is so convenient for exploring the surrounding area and there seems to be so much to do within a short travelling distance.

The Gower peninsula is just a 15 minute drive away - where we hope to re-live the many sunny days spent on Llangennith beach during the 60s.

Laugharne, Tenby and Saundersfoot can be easliy visited on a day trip.

What makes this house unique

So much to do and see within a few miles.

Walking, cycling, country park, wetland centre, award winning golf club, spa and restaurants and retail park!

An excellent holiday home in a lovely area.

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Driftwood and will most definitely return. It was very well placed to visit Gower and Mumbles and the great restaurants there. We also visited Tenby and Saundersfoot and even managed a trip to Skomer Island in Pembrokeshire where we saw the Puffin colony. Locally there are plenty of supermarkets within a mile and an out of town shopping centre. From the property it is just two minutes to the coastal path and you can easily walk or cycle to the discovery centre and a little further will take you to the Wetlands Centre. The house has a patio and back garden which is private and quiet. Five stars *

Perfect place for coastal walks, eating and exploring the Gower and West Wales..

  • 5 of 5

The house has been perfect for us - couple with 2 daughters. We have loved exploring the area, thoroughly recommend Rhossili Bay, Oxwich Bay and Caswell Bay. Wonderful walks along the millennium coastal path just 2 minutes from the house. Recommend eating at Machynys Golf Club and Ali's curry house. Easy to access the Gower and further West - Pembrey country Park and Tenby. Excellent accommodation. We shall return.

A great base to explore the area

  • 5 of 5

This house is on a lovely quiet estate right by the coast. A beautiful area, we loved it. The house has everything you need, a few creaky floorboards, but nothing is wanting, its comfortable, with a fantastic master bedroom and ensuite.

We will definitely stay there again if we go back to that area.

We usually go to Tenerife as we have a property there ,but were unable to travel at short notice this time, so we were looking for somewhere equally as nice to go and we found this house.

Highly recommended as long as you have a car.

Perfect for walks or cycling too.

Thanks for letting us stay there
