Home from home, probably cleaner though!

Bryony Cottage was exactly what we wanted, cosy but not small, plenty of room for two with a huge super king size bed from where you can look out over the town to the wonderful countryside. It a great location, stones throw from a great pub and short walk to a wide variety of restaurants. The cottage has everything you need, is very well maintained and very clean. They are pet friendly but glad to say I saw no evidence of previous furry guests! The owners are both friendly and accomodating- thank you, I expect we will be back.

Excellent Accommodation

  • 5 of 5

We always look forward to our yearly visit to Bryony Cottage (whatever the weather throws at us), it is always immaculate, with a very comfy bed. Helen & Steve are always very welcoming & accommodating. The location could not be better, being a very short walk to Ambleside centre, from where many beautiful walks can be taken. It is also a great centre for seeing other parts of the Lake District, with good roads and buses. If you want a lovely self catering cottage in Ambleside, try this one, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic cottage and owners very accommodating

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Bryony cottage for the third time and it's beautiful, traditional, warm, cozy and exceptionally clean. Central to everything - walks, lakes and other small surrounding towns.

We arrived to some lovely Easter eggs, biscuits, milk and a display of tulips - very welcoming.

Beds really comfortable and kitchen has everything you need. This cottage will meet all your expectations - we are fussy and have stayed here three times and will be back - that says it all.

Thank you Helen and Steve

Warm, spotless and inviting 😃

  • 5 of 5

We were very impressed with Bryony Cottage in Ambleside. The situation is perfect being seconds walk from the centre of Ambleside and we didn't have to move our car all week. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean and warm. The owners had gone to considerable trouble providing a high chair and the offer of a new travel cot. They had also made room in the smaller second bedroom for our own cot and there was a very welcome packet of biscuits and milk for our first cuppa...hugely welcome after travelling with a toddler! Our bed was huge..which was ideal with a husband at 6ft 4 and a 26 week pregnant me! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we could wish for. A fantastic place to stay in a beautiful town. We will be back.
