Villa in Duquesa, Costa del Sol, Spain - 10 Mins Walk To Beach, Restaurants, Bars & Shops. Golf Course And Vineyards Only 200m Away

This delightful Andalucian style villa is surrounded by mature gardens containing palm, orange and lemon trees. Relax in or by the recently refurbished heated swimming pool with easy and safe access for the young and not so young (!) via the Roman steps into the shallow end. The villa is situated in a quiet location but only 10 minutes walk from the unspoiled old coastal village of Castillo de la Duquesa with its traditional Spanish restaurants, bars and beach bars (known as 'Chiringuitos'). A further 5 minutes walk along the promenade or the beach will take you into the lively marina of Duquesa with an excellent variety of restaurants, bars shops and ice cream parlour for the children! The villa is spacious and furnished and decorated to a very high standard providing a sense of comfortable opulence. The accommodation is ideal for families, large groups, from the young to the old, golfers and for people with mobility problems who would be comfortable in the ground floor bedroom and bathroom. On the first floor is the Master En-suite bedroom with a super king sized bed that can be converted into 2 single beds. The en-site bathroom is spacious and marbled throughout. French windows open out onto a large balcony with a sea view, ideal for a slow lazy breakfast or an aperitif before dinner. A twin bedroom also has French windows opening out onto the balcony. There is a further twin bedroom and marbled family bathroom to complete the first floor. A further 2 folding beds are available on request as are cots and high chairs. On the ground floor is a twin bedroom with its own bathroom ideal for guests with mobility issues. The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker/hob/oven; fridge freezer; dishwasher; microwave; washing machine; tumble drier and blender. There is a large lounge with a dining area and a traditional Spanish fireplace. You will also find in here Satellite TV, Blue-Ray DVD player, WiFi and a selection of DVD's, games and books. There is full air conditioning and heating on both floors. Leading off the lounge is a large conservatory. This maybe converted into an open terrace by pulling back the glass curtains. Relax out here on the Ratten sofas with a cool beer. There are further comfortable outside recliners and sunbeds to use in the lovely gardens or by the pool. The garden is walled and has electric gates to enable secure parking for your cars under a shaded carport.

A fantastic villa, situated a pleasant 10 min walk from the great little port of Duquesa. The villa is very well equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The heated pool Is a fantastic addition to the villa, providing the kids with hours of fun! Highly recommended!

Simply Perfect in Every Way!

This villa was everything it promised to be & lots more, for me. It was cool inside even on the days it reached 30 degs. The bedrooms are all comfy & cool, too. Dining at the villa was a joy (inside or out) The glass curtains to the garden really open up the space for dining. The BBQ is awesome! The pool is a welcome place to cool off & relax after busy days touring around. The Roman Baths are worth a visit & en-route to Casares White Mountain Village ~ be sure to take your camera because there are some really pretty pictures to be taken. At the bottom of the village in a traditional village square with plenty of bars & cafes. We went to Castellar & did a woodland walk & we saw the most exquisite large, orange & red butterflies (& cooled off along the way under the sprinklers that were watering the mangroves!) From the walk, we headed up to Castellar de la Frontera old castle which was really fascinating with stunning photograph opportunities. If you appreciate art, this is a must. Artist live & work in the newer part of the castle. There are opportunities to buy unique handmade costume jewellery & ceramics, too. Estepona market is fantastic! Have a few hours in the market & then head into the old town & enjoy the sleepy pace of life amongst the local folks who are so friendly. Catch the train to Ronda & enjoy all that it offers & that is PLENTY! I can highly recommend a relaxing tapas lunch with a glass of red at the El Morabito, Terraza bar restaurante. The terrace over looks the vast gorge & again, it's a great photo opportunity. Some restaurants in Duquesa that I recommend are: La Traviata who offer a little bit of everything. The Flame, for a great Indian feast. Casablanca offers Moroccan food & the lamb tagine was really good! There are plenty of places around the marina for light breakfasts & lunches in addition to great evening meals. & just so that know... there is free & unlimited access to the internet ~ it's a winner & thank you to Paul & Julie for their flexibility.

Great Villa

Had a fantastic 11 day stay at the Villa. We had a couple of minor issues but Julie sorted them out immediately. Good communication throughout the process. Great internet speeds, pool was fantastic, although next time in September, I'd maybe pay for the pool to be heated. Kitchen had everything required. I would recommend this villa to others. Thaks again Julie.

Spacious house in the sun

We had a lovely holiday in the Villa. The house is very spacious and is as shown on the pictures. Everything was well explained and the villa is very complete in terms of furnishing. We loved the heated pool. Our daughters didn't want to come out. The villa is a short drive from the beach and a marina with restaurants.

The villa is situated at the edge of a golf estate, which is not completely up to scratch. Is is not something you would see from the villa though.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

It is a 10 minutes walk to the local beaches and marina or a 2 minutes drive. All the beaches are Blue Flag and a long promenade runs adjacent for several miles. The beaches are sandy and have a wide choice of beach bars (known as 'Chiringuitos') and restaurants, ideal for afternoon Tapas while sipping a Sangria or maybe a Mojito. There are several play areas for the kids with swings, slides and climbing frames along the beach. Sun loungers maybe hired for around 5 Euros each.

Travel:

The nearest airport: Gibraltar 21miles, 35km. 30 minutes drive; Malaga 62 miles, 100km. 1 hour drive.

Nearest railway station: San Roque/La Linea 15 miles, 25 km.

Car hire is recommended but not essential. Good local bus service.

The nearest ferry port is at Algeciras 20 minutes drive away. There you can get a high speed ferry to exotic Morocco, North Africa in 35 minutes.

There is a Tourist Office in Duquesa providing information on public transport, local attractions and amenities.

Distances:

SOTOGRANDE (15 min. drive) is one of the most luxurious sports and residential developments in Europe with unspoilt beaches, a world class marina, incredible bars and restaurants, polo and golf clubs. GIBRALTAR (a further 15 min. drive) is a shoppers paradise, no VAT, Gibraltar pound is the currency, many British shops.. Take the cable car to the top of the Rock for one of the best views in the world. The world famous resorts of MARBELLA, PUERTO BANUS and ESTEPONA are less than 30 mins drive

ALHAMBRA (2 hours drive) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the best preserved medieval Arab Palace in the world and with nearly 2 million visitors annually it is also the most popular monument in Spain. It dates back to the 11th century. Nearby is the SIERRA NEVADA Europe's second highest mountain range after the Alps. It offers the continent's southernmost ski resort with a season that stretches from November until late April.

RONDA (less than 1 hours drive) provides a spectacular setting in the mountains with its old bridges that straddle the 100m gorge. It is also home to the first ever bull ring in the world which may be visited along with its museum. The town can also be reached by a wonderful train journey from Algeciras.

MANILVA & CASARES less than 30 minutes drive into the hills is the beautiful authentic village of Manilva with its much visited Roman Baths and the white-washed hillside houses of Casares.

The historical cities of Cadiz (84 miles 136km) and Seville (132 miles 212km) are both worthy of a visit.

SABINILLAS (5 minutes drive) provides more shops than Duquesa. Banks and Supermarkets are also located here.

The conservatory glass curtains can be folded away to create a lovely terraced area over looking the pool. Relax on one of the many reclining chairs or luxurious sun beds. Fancy something more energetic ? There are several outdoor games to play like a game of Boules on the extensive lawns. Make use of the barbecue as the sun goes down then switch on the garden and pool lights to create a spectacular setting. Electric gates provide secure parking for your cars.
