Villa in Duquesa, Costa del Sol, Spain - 10 Mins Walk To Beach, Restaurants, Bars & Shops. Golf Course And Vineyards Only 200m Away

This delightful Andalucian style villa is surrounded by mature gardens containing palm, orange and lemon trees. Relax in or by the recently refurbished heated swimming pool with easy and safe access for the young and not so young (!) via the Roman steps into the shallow end. If you require the pool to be heated please advise us as there will be an additional charge. The villa is situated in a quiet location but only 10 minutes walk from the unspoiled old coastal village of Castillo de la Duquesa with its traditional Spanish restaurants, bars and beach bars (known as 'Chiringuitos'). A further 5 minutes walk along the promenade or the beach will take you into the lively marina of Duquesa with an excellent variety of restaurants, bars shops and ice cream parlour for the children! The villa is spacious and furnished and decorated to a very high standard providing a sense of comfortable opulence. The accommodation is ideal for families, large groups, from the young to the old, golfers and for people with mobility problems who would be comfortable in the ground floor bedroom and bathroom. On the first floor is the Master En-suite bedroom with a super king sized bed that can be converted into 2 single beds. The en-site bathroom is spacious and marbled throughout. French windows open out onto a large balcony with a sea view, ideal for a slow lazy breakfast or an aperitif before dinner. A twin bedroom also has French windows opening out onto the balcony. There is a further twin bedroom and marbled family bathroom to complete the first floor. A further 2 folding beds are available on request as are cots and high chairs. On the ground floor is a twin bedroom with its own bathroom ideal for guests with mobility issues. The kitchen is well equipped with a cooker/hob/oven; fridge freezer; dishwasher; microwave; washing machine; tumble drier and blender. There is a large lounge with a dining area and a traditional Spanish fireplace. You will also find in here Satellite TV, Blue-Ray DVD player, WiFi and a selection of DVD's, games and books. There is full air conditioning and heating on both floors. Leading off the lounge is a large conservatory. This maybe converted into an open terrace by pulling back the glass curtains. Relax out here on the Ratten sofas with a cool beer. There are further comfortable outside recliners and sunbeds to use in the lovely gardens or by the pool. The garden is walled and has electric gates to enable secure parking for your cars under a shaded carport.

Refurbishment of the interior and the swimming pool was completed to a high standard in February 2015.

Location

Coast/Beach:

It is a 10 minutes walk to the local beaches and marina or a 2 minutes drive. All the beaches are Blue Flag and a long promenade runs adjacent for several miles. The beaches are sandy and have a wide choice of beach bars (known as 'Chiringuitos') and restaurants, ideal for afternoon Tapas while sipping a Sangria or maybe a Mojito. There are several play areas for the kids with swings, slides and climbing frames along the beach. Sun loungers maybe hired for around 5 Euros each.

Travel:

The nearest airport: Gibraltar 21miles, 35km. 30 minutes drive; Malaga 62 miles, 100km. 1 hour drive.

Nearest railway station: San Roque/La Linea 15 miles, 25 km.

Car hire is recommended but not essential. Good local bus service.

The nearest ferry port is at Algeciras 20 minutes drive away. There you can get a high speed ferry to exotic Morocco, North Africa in 35 minutes.

There is a Tourist Office in Duquesa providing information on public transport, local attractions and amenities.

Distances:

SOTOGRANDE (15 min. drive) is one of the most luxurious sports and residential developments in Europe with unspoilt beaches, a world class marina, incredible bars and restaurants, polo and golf clubs. GIBRALTAR (a further 15 min. drive) is a shoppers paradise, no VAT, Gibraltar pound is the currency, many British shops.. Take the cable car to the top of the Rock for one of the best views in the world. The world famous resorts of MARBELLA, PUERTO BANUS and ESTEPONA are less than 30 mins drive

Further Details:

ALHAMBRA (2 hours drive) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the best preserved medieval Arab Palace in the world and with nearly 2 million visitors annually it is also the most popular monument in Spain. It dates back to the 11th century. Nearby is the SIERRA NEVADA Europe's second highest mountain range after the Alps. It offers the continent's southernmost ski resort with a season that stretches from November until late April.

RONDA (less than 1 hours drive) provides a spectacular setting in the mountains with its old bridges that straddle the 100m gorge. It is also home to the first ever bull ring in the world which may be visited along with its museum. The town can also be reached by a wonderful train journey from Algeciras.

MANILVA & CASARES less than 30 minutes drive into the hills is the beautiful authentic village of Manilva with its much visited Roman Baths and the white-washed hillside houses of Casares.

The historical cities of Cadiz (84 miles 136km) and Seville (132 miles 212km) are both worthy of a visit.

SABINILLAS (5 minutes drive) provides more shops than Duquesa. Banks and Supermarkets are also located here.

Outside: The mature gardens surround 3 sides of the villa and contain palm, orange and lemon trees. The swimming pool has recently been refurbished and now includes Roman steps, a safety handle and a shallow end to help younger children and guests with mobility issues. The pool has a powerful heater allowing use during the winter. Please make a request if you wish the pool to be heated, we can switch it on before your arrival to bring it up to a nice warm temperature (a daily additional charge will be made). The conservatory glass curtains can be folded away to create a lovely terraced area over looking the pool. Relax on one of the many reclining chairs or luxurious sun beds. Fancy something more energetic ? There are several outdoor games to play like a game of Boules on the extensive lawns. Make use of the barbecue as the sun goes down then switch on the garden and pool lights to create a spectacular setting. Electric gates provide secure parking for your cars. Utility Room: 2 Sets of Golf Clubs may be used by our Guests. Iron. Ironing Board. Vacuum Cleaner. Mops. Brooms. Dust Pan and Brush. Buckets. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and Linen are provided and changed weekly. Cleaning is done every week. A fantastic villa, situated a pleasant 10 min walk from the great little port of Duquesa. The villa is very well equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The heated pool Is a fantastic addition to the villa, providing the kids with hours of fun! Highly recommended!

Beautiful villa in good estate

Lovely villa with plenty of room within easy reach of Duquesa. The house and estate it is on, is nice and clean. The house has plenty of room, comfortable furniture, all the facilities you need, and I particularly enjoyed the heated swimming pool.

The house is an easy walk into Duquesa which has plenty of bars and restaurants and the house is a good base for travelling further along the coast.

Had a great time and found it very relaxing.

Reluctant Traveller

I do not enjoy flying but flight into Gibraltar airport was excellent the airport is quiet and not too busy. Car hire was straight forward pick up and drop off no problems ! Maps and details given by owners fantastic ! Owners could not have been more helpful !

On arrival at the villa (which was at night and in the dark) set in quiet location the first thing I saw was the lovely swimming pool.

Didn`t want to move from the pool and garden area it was so relaxing.

Villa was first class you must stay here and experience it for yourself.

Last Family Holiday

Probably last family holiday with Mom and Dad. It was a beautiful styled house proper get away from everything holiday. Loved the pool. Surrounding area was beautiful. Duquesa was a great place to explore without parents very safe and friendly.

Would definetly go back again with/without Mom and Dad.

Family Holiday

Very surprised by the standard of the house. Just loved being in the pool and catching some sun. Loved sitting on my own private balcony. Would love to go back again with friends rather than Mom and Dad !

Absolutely delightful villa

We were couldn`t believe the high standard of the villa. Just home from home. Pool was a delight the children didn`t want to leave so relaxing. My husband was in his element with the outside BBQ and sink ! It was a very peaceful, relaxing and quiet setting, garden was lovely. Plenty of outside furniture to use by the pool.

The standard of the bathrooms was excellent. We have a disabled daughter and the downstairs bathroom/bedroom was perfect ! Duquesa is a wonderful place full of life and very family friendly !

Booking Notes:
A 30% deposit is required when booking and the balance is due 90 days before the start of the holiday. A £300.00 security deposit is also due with this final payment to cover any damages that may occur which are above normal wear and tear. This will be returned once the property has been cleaned and audited by the caretakers.

Changeover Day:
We are quite flexible regarding 'changeover day' although may be restricted during peak periods.

Notes on prices:
No additional mandatory charges.
If you wish the pool to be heated we can arrange to switch it on before your arrival so that it is ready for you to dive into! The heater is powerful enough to enable all year round use. A daily charge will be made.
