About Helen Pracy

The owners live in Birmingham and love escaping down to Ringmore, although this does not happen as much as they would like, thanks to work commitments and 2 teenage sons.

They have a lovely caretaker who has been managing their holiday let for the last 3 years.

Helen Pracy purchased this barn in 2010

Why Helen Pracy chose South Hams

Ringmore is a secluded and really pretty little village - it feels a bit like a closely guarded secret. It is close to the hustle and bustle of places like Salcombe and yet is very peaceful. It is a real bonus to have a pub just a few short steps from the barn, which does very good food.

Unexpected pleasures have been the bird life and fantastic night skies.

What makes this barn unique

Ohope Barn has a wonderful sunny open plan living area. There is plenty of space and at the same time has a comfy, family feel.

There are very pretty views to the sea from the garden.

Beautiful location and plenty of space!

  • 4 of 5

We arrived and definitely had a wow factor allowing lots of space for us all. An easy walk to local cove and pleasant walk to Bigbury with excellent facilities. There was supposed to be a land line as mobile phone signals were bad but the line was dead and a couple of bedrooms had curtains with only half the hooks on which was surprising. We paid for the best and felt more attention needed. We did expect a few cobwebs due to being a barn but in the windows and corners of rooms showers lack of cleaning. Sorry it sounds like our holiday was disappointing when it was amazing just some care and time needed on the property.

A lovely cottage in a lovely setting. Fabulous kitchen. Well equipped with plenty of towels etc.

Excellent for our party of 8 adults and two dogs. Lovely to be able to open the French doors and eat in the garden. Lovely walk through the village down to the very quiet beach.

Excellent, well equipped accommodation.

  • 5 of 5

We have just spent a week in this property and were delighted with the standard of the accommodation. It has everything you need and a bit more! I usually take a bag of kitchen equipment, but you don't need to here (there are even properly sharp knives and a sharpener if they get blunt,. Anyone who has been on a mobile home holiday on the continent will know how pleasing this is.) The bedrooms are all very spacious with lovely furniture and the kitchen is to die for. The barn is in a quiet location with plenty of local walks and great scenery, but you have to drive a fair way for things to do if it is wet. It is ideal for anyone looking for total relaxation - we even saw a Tesco delivery van if you don't want to drive to Kingsbridge for a big shop. We met the caretaker who, like everyone else in Ringmore is very friendly. Sadly the weather was rather poor while we were here, but that's British summer for you. Would definitely recommend this property.

Excellent Property

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my wife, a baby, a 3 year old, and my parents for one week in May. It is an excellent property, furnished to a very high standard. It was very clean, roomy and comfortable. It is in a great location to explore South Devon. The beautiful beaches at Bigbury-On-Sea are very close (walkable but takes about 20 mins down a steep hill, or 30-40 minutes via a public footpath), Aymer Cove is a 20 minute walk, and places like Plymouth, Salcombe, Hope Cove, East Portlemouth, Dartmouth, etc, are within a 30 minute drive. The owner of the property is very nice and helpful, as was the cleaner who we met. Great sea views from the garden. Baby and toddler friendly. Sky TV included Sky Sports which was great for the Test Cricket! Can't recommend highly enough.
