Apartment in Alvor, Western Algarve, Portugal - Brand New Fully Equipped 1 Bedroom Air-Conditioned Apartment Close To Centre Of Alvor

New in 2015 luxury 1 bedroom apartment situated in Albur Village, a secure peaceful complex, close to all Alvor amenities. Our apartment is in one of the best locations in Alvor – situated just a short stroll to the main restaurant and bar area but just far enough away to be quiet and have open views to the countryside. We regularly walk to the beach which comfortably takes less than 15 minutes.

Recently furnished by a specialist interior design company, the fully air-conditioned apartment provides a stylish holiday home allowing you to have the freedom to enjoy the many delights of Alvor. The accommodation is modern and has an open plan kitchen/dining area with the kitchen window looking directly out to the pool area.

Direct access to a large private balcony is from either the lounge or the bedroom and we have provided luxurious outdoor furniture for guests use. There is also a patio area directly outside the front door of the apartment where we have provided a small table and chairs for enjoying the afternoon/evening sun.

Spacious living area providing a comfortable and relaxing environment for up to 4 adults. The sofa can be easily turned into an extremely comfortable double bed and the sideboards provide sufficient storage for clothing. The apartment will sleep four with a flexible bedroom layout – either twin beds or zipped mattress to make a very large super-king bed. High quality bedding is provided to ensure maximum comfort.

The complex is completely secure and has a video entry system as well as allocated underground parking. Lifts are available to all floors but our apartment is on the same level as the pool and can be accessed without having to climb any stairs. The private fresh-water pool is located in the centre of the complex and therefore sheltered from the wind and making it a comfortable area to relax and enjoy the sun all year round.

Albur village is a recently developed complex of apartments which has everything needed for holidaymakers looking for quality modern apartments and facilities. The complex includes the largest and best supermarket in Alvor (Pingo Doce) and means that picking up those holiday essentials is both simple and cost effective. The supermarket even has its own bakery and café area and so breakfast is made simple.

Since then we have introduced many friends and family members who all seem to fall in love with the place just like we did.

This is a fabulous modern apartment to base your stay in Alvor. The apartment is decorated to the highest standard, it's very clean, spacious and also fully equipped with every convenience. Situated in a quiet area of town but still only a few minutes walk to the town center and the wonderful beach. We were one of the first visitors to this apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.... so much we've booked again for Easter. We would highly recommend this apartment to our friends. Everything was just perfect ...

Everything about this rental was fantastic !! Pamela, the host, was always helpful if we needed anything, and the apartment itself is even nicer than you see it in the pictures. The location was great as we didn't have to use the car every time we needed something as it is literally only a 2 minute walk to the well stocked, and well priced local Pingo Doce supermarket.

A 5 minute stroll and your in the very heart of the beautiful Alvor, with it's myriad of shops, bakeries, bars and restaurants.

The pool, and pool area of the apartments, are cleaned and tidied every day, and the relaxed, friendly and quiet ambience was just perfect for our needs.

Oh, and I mustn't forget to add that it's always great to have an apartment that has a brilliant wi-fi connection, essential for keeping in touch with everyone at home, and for downloading some extra books for your Kindle to read either on the balcony or by the pool.

We have found our favourite place in the Algarve, and without hesitation, the next time we are travelling to the area we will be checking this apartments availability before any others.

Fabulous apartment in great location

I stayed here for 9 days with my wife and two children (aged 9 and 10).

Everything was perfect during our stay. The apartment is quite large and it easily accommodated the four of us (1 double bedroom and 1 sofa bed in the large living area).

The location is very central for Alvor, only a few minutes walk from the village centre. The beach is also within 10 to 15 minutes walking distance.

All arrangements were very straightforward and the owner, Pamela, was very accommodating before and after the booking was made.

I would highly recommend this property and would definitely return in the future.

Albur Village Golf Trip

Excellent ground floor property with all amenities provided for enjoyable stay. Apartment was well maintained and clean, sleeping up to four if required. Free wifi access included in secure apartment. Lovely balcony with soft furnishings to watch morning sunrise. Excellent sun lounge area and pool protected away from the main road into Alvor. Having the local supermarket as part of the complex is a bonus catering for everything you could need.

The location is in easy walking distance from town centre where a large range of restaurants and bars can be found. We stayed as part of a golfing trip with a number of courses within a short drive of the apartments. Looking forward to our return in a few weeks.

Wonderful apartment, shame about the noise.

This was our 4th stay in Alvor but the first time at this apartment.

The apartment itself is very good quality. Comfortable sofa bed. Excellent coffee machine. Nice touch with beach towels, books, games & welcome wine provided. Pool area quiet & clean with own 2 sun beds allocated.

Location is a good base for bars/restaurants- 15 minute walk with a 5 year old and 3 year old. The beach took us 20-25 minutes, some nice ice cream parlours en route to stop at. Supermarket very handy & well stocked with good choices.

10 euros in a taxi can take you to praia da rocha marina/beach and from there there is a lovely taxi ferry that runs to Ferragudo for a good day out.

The only downside we found with this property was unfortunately building noise every morning from 7.30-8am start!

Superb apartment

My wife and myself are great fans of Alvor and have stayed there lots of times, however this apartment was very special. The location and the quality of the accommodation is exceptional, not to mention the convenience of the supermarket and the underground parking. One thing which is very rare in rented holiday apartments is the provision of beach towels, a great bonus! All in all a perfect break and we will definitely be returning.

We love Alvor and viewed many apartment complexes before we finally came across the new Albur Village development. We were immediately impressed with the quality of the property and the secure nature of the complex overall. Since the property has only recently been completed, it is in better condition than some of the complexes that have been around for a while and we love the modern look of the apartment. The location is also great - we didn't actually realise that the apartment is so close to the bars and restaurants and we enjoy the stroll down and back home in the evening.

Activity and Interests

Car: not necessary

Special interest holidays:

Fishing trips and boat trips to the caves are available or you can even go out looking for some of the resident dolphins. For the really adventurous, you can now skydive from the airfield just outside Alvor – the views on the way down are supposed to be amazing!

There is a big waterpark nearby at Lagoa – called Slide & Splash it provides great fun for both the kids and the big kids whilst providing plenty of areas to relax and enjoy the sun. Zoomarine is also a fantastic venue for a day trip – includes various marine life shows, theme park rides and 4D cinema.

Within a short distance from the village you can have a try at quad biking, mountain biking, horse riding or gokarting at the new Autodromo Algarve motorbike track which hosts many big events.


The main beach in Alvor is just a short walk away from the apartment and is a long stretch of white sand with lots of sun loungers available for those looking to soak up the sun.

For the more active, there are several watersports companies where you can rent out a pedalo, paddleboard, kayaking, jet ski, kite surfing or ride on an inflatable banana.

The impressive boardwalk stretches for miles across some of the fascinating wildlife habitats at Ria de Alvor Nature Reserve.


Western Algarve is serviced by Faro International Airport. Car hire is relatively low cost and easy to arrange. Transfer time from the Airport is approx 50 mins, using the A22 toll road. Transfer can be arranged.


If you want to explore further out from the village then you can venture to the historic town of Lagos to the West or Portimao to the East. The new Aqua centre at Portimao offers the chance of some retail therapy for those who feel the need. Both can be reached by bus, taxi or by rental car or you could take a boat trip from the riverfront straight over to Lagos!

Further Details:

Alvor is an ideal resort for couples & families and has everything that you need for a relaxing holiday. It has grown substantially since tourists started arriving in the 1960’s but the village has managed to remain unspoilt and the village still retains its own charm. The tight cobbled streets remain with the many bars and restaurants settled between the traditional old houses.

There are lots of things to do or you can just relax and enjoy the fantastic climate.

Within the village itself there is an amazing variety of fantastic restaurants which cater for all tastes and budgets – traditional Portuguese, harbour-front fish restaurants, Italian, Indian, Chinese. There are equally as many bars to choose from, including several Irish bars. Many of the bars will show the major sporting events live and you also have your choice of live entertainment.

The riverfront has undergone a significant transformation over the past few years and now provides a wonderful place to watch the sunset over the estuary. To make it even better you can now relax at one of the bars which will serve you a cocktail, a beer or a jug of sangria to make the moment even more special.

Alvor really is a fantastic base for the keen golf traveller. Within 20 minutes of the village you will find an amazing choice of courses which can satisfy all standards of golfer. The following are just a small selection:

Alto Golf – taken over a few years ago by the Pestana group, the standard at Alto has improved dramatically and it now provides a great challenge including a 600 meter par 5.

Penina – located around the Meridien hotel complex, Penina is widely regarded as the home of Portuguese golf as it was here that Henry Cotton designed the first course in the Algarve. Also includes an Academy course and fantastic practice facilities.

Palmares – recently remodelled by Robert Trent Jones, Palmares now includes three loops of 9 holes which all offer a different challenge in a breathtaking environment.

Morgado – offering two courses which provide very different challenges, Morgado offers a chance to get away from the coast and visit the hills just above Alvor.

Changeover Day:
Our changeover day, if possible, is Saturday however we will try to be flexible. Access to the apartment will be from 4pm on the day of arrival and the apartment should be vacated by 10am at departure - again we will try to be flexible.

Having the best supermarket in the village around the corner from the apartment is really convenient and ideal for guests. Saves walking with heavy bags full of supplies or having to take the car and it is ideal if you need to stock up with replacement drinks or just fancy a delicious rotisserie chicken or freshly baked bread from the bakery.
