Un séjour parfait

  • 5 of 5

Location

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended

Coast/Beach:

Le Buisson boasts the longest river beach in the Dordogne - it's a 10 minute drive from the cottage.

Travel:

The nearest airport is at Bergerac which is 40km away. Le Buisson is on the main rail route from Bergerac to Perigueux / Sarlat and beyond, though it is recommended to have a car to visit the surrounding areas.

Distances:

La Roque Gageac, the Chateau de Beynac and Castelnaud, Lascaux caves and the medieval town of Sarlat are all within 30-40 minutes drive away. Similar distance to Bergerac in the other direction whilst Perigueux is about 50 minutes away.

Further Details:

This is a region renowned for its natural beauty with rivers winding through picturesque countryside, chateaux and rural villages. The many caves contain some of the oldest and finest -prehistoric art in the world and the local cuisine draws visitors from within France and and all over the world.

The village of Le Buisson has several boulangeries, 2 mini-markets, ATM, medical centre, petrol station, a small cinema, cafe/bar, restaurant and probably the longest and best-kept river beach in the Dordogne. Nearby restaurants offer food ranging from good value meals to gourmet cuisine. The village market is every Friday morning and the night market (on the same evening) offers food, drink and dancing. Whilst activities such as golf, canoeing, horse-riding, hot-air ballooning, tennis and fishing can all be found nearby, it’s just as easy to relax, enjoy the beautiful countryside, easy-going way of life and good weather.
