About the Owner

We are a young family and purchased the The Old Barn, Holme, in 2006. We carried out a completed refurbishment and modernisation and continue to make little changes here and there every year. We live near Stamford and travel regularly to The Old Barn to escape work and immerse ourselves in the sheer beauty of all that the North Norfolk coast has to offer.

In 2007 we also bought two properties next to the beach at South Beach, Heacham. We thought these would be perfect for our children to grow up around and play by the beach in the traditional way.

Delightful, well equipped property with a lovely atmosphere.

We are a group of women friends and we have, over the years, stayed in many different properties. This is one of the best. We have found this one to be spacious, convenient, comfortable and charming. Very well situated for the coast, bird watching and lovely walks. The fabulous wood burner was the icing on the cake. We will be back!

Perfect week away.

We stayed here over October half term and picked the The Old Barn because It looked lovely in the pictures and we were able to bring our Cockapoo with us. We weren't disappointed The Old Barn is just beautiful and lots of thought has been put into making it home from home. The lounge with the wood burner was just so cozy in the evenings with plenty of seating for all eight of us to sit down comfortably.

The location was good and there are plenty of walks to be had straight from the cottage. The local pub which served fab food and a good pint of Guinness was just a 10 minute stroll down the road.

Fantastic week away, highly recommend.

Excellent accomodation and location

We had a lovely stay at the old barn, very good quality accomodation and facilities making our stay very comfortable. The oldbarn is in a great location, with lovely walks on your doorstep. We also enjoyed the local village pub. We would definately stay again.

Relaxing holiday

We were a group of 4 ladies who had a very relaxing time. The property exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully presented and the location is great for trips to Sandringham, the coast and seeing the seals.

We were very lucky with the weather and enjoyed the recommendations for places to eat, others had written in the visitors book. I would definitely recommend this property.

A very well maintained and comfortable property, ideally located for exploring this lovely area

Our stay in Norfolk was, on this occasion, all too short but we very much enjoyed our stay at this property. It was precisely as described, well maintained, comfortable and clean as well as being ideally located to explore this part of North Norfolk. The beaches, villages, pubs and restaurants were all delightful - follow the recommendations in the guest guide book and you won't go far wrong. I would just add the nearby Thornham Deli for breakfast and / or lunch - perfect!

Location

We scoured properties for sale from Heacham to Wells, but The Old Barn stood out as having so much light and airy space and a large enclosed garden, that made not buying it very difficult indeed. It is superbly located for children's activities as well as those for adults. The estate agents words to us were 'don't go too far round the coast, as this area is where all the action is.' SOLD!

The Old Barn has four generous bedrooms and enough showers and wc's that two families can share without getting in each others way. But the best bit for us is the huge living spaces and the lovely log burner. As soon as we unpack we walk to the beach for some sea air and then stop off at the local pub on the way back for a real ale. Perfect.

Outside: Large garden with lawned areas, terrace, decked area, BBQ, garden furniture, and parking for several cars. Utility Room: Downstairs cloakroom containing washing machine and tumble drier. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels, bed linen and T towels are provided. The property is cleaned and towels, linen changed weekly. Other: Dining hall comfortably seating 10 on leather chairs with views south over the garden. Leading from the living room and sharing the log burning stove is a delightful oak garden room with doors onto the terrace.
