About r davies

Owner lived at farm for 60 years

r davies purchased this farmhouse in 1956

Why r davies chose Penally

The farm lies in the area known as "the garden of Pembrokeshire"

Being so close to the sea makes the area particularly good for early season crops as it's frost free, sheep love it too !

What makes this farmhouse unique

The wonderful view in all weathers.

Long weekend in Penally

  • 5 of 5

I took my two oldest boys and their families for a long weekend and it was delightful. They both have one year old boys so we were in each evening and the venue needed to be comfortable and good for entertaining. The farmhouse is gorgeous with a beautiful traditional Welsh kitchen big enough for our whole party. Some previous reviewers gave me some concerns about cooking on the Aga.......It was the best bit!! Gave us warmth and cheer when it rained and cooked everything to perfection. A simple guide is provided. We all want one. I have stayed in theTenby area many times over the years but this was the best.

Lovely farmhouse in stunning location

  • 5 of 5

Lovely farmhouse with great facilities and plenty for the kids to do.Lovely views from the patio , spent several evenings having a drink and watching the sunset.

Very nice location for exploring South Wales and there is plenty to do in the immediate area , we were here for a week and barely scratched the surface.

Tenby is a short drive away and there is lots to do there(boat trip to Caldey Island is well worth a look)

All in all an excellent holiday , would definitely stay here again

We liked it

  • 4 of 5

The welcome pack was lacking slightly and as non aga experts we found the length of time to cook anything and lack of instruction on how to maybe speed it up frustrating. However that aside, it is a lovely farmhouse with loads of space both inside and out. The games room was a bonus and frequently used by our 3 boys and they had loads of space outside to play. The location is brilliant, in between Tenby to the left, loads of nice quieter beaches to the right and the coast past just in front. I would recommend and definitely stay here again.

Tenby Farmhouse

  • 2 of 5

Disappointed with a number of things at the Farmhouse. We were told there would be a welcome pack of tea ,coffee and milk. We arrived while cleaners still there, luckily, as they knew nothing of this, but went next door and came back with a very small jug of milk, so we were left with two teabags no coffee and a very small jug of milk between 7 of us, very bad..Also there was only one toilet roll in each toilet, again details state toilet rolls supplied so if anybody out there can manage on three toilet rolls for 7 people for 1 week I salute them. Very stingy indeed for price we paid. We were left a cheap bottle of Rose wine, no substitute I'm afraid .Also there should be instruction left on how to use the Aga again for anybody not used to them who were planning to cook all week GOOD LUCK. Finally the whole place needs a proper deep clean. Cushions dirty, chair covers very dirty, dead flies and insects everywhere (and please do not say it's a farmhouse, these had been there a long time, we even had slugs in the front room!!! Tidy does not mean clean..Very disappointing for price we paid and after a 7 hour drive having to go out shopping for things that were stated would there was not amusing. Also people from nearby campsite calling at house with their problems is not good, should be made clear not to go to Farmhouse. Would not return or recommend.

Owner's Response: There seems to be a contradiction as Martin R (your relative staying at the same time) is positive ? Either way we find your comments disappointing. Nowhere do we state that we supply consumables. The wine, loo rolls, milk & tea making supplies are simply a courtesy gesture to guests who arrive after the stated 4pm opening, when the cleaners have had time to completed their tasks and ensure these items are in place. You arrived well before they had a chance to even finish cleaning. We apologise for any dust or faulty cushion(s) which would be replaced as a matter of course, fortunately we can't replace the position and panoramic views which should offer some compensation. As for the Aga; the usual suburban electric tin box would be a 20th of the investment, complete with LED's to light a cold heartless kitchen. In our view and many others they don't compare. On cost the property is very competitive, look no further than local caravan sites with their fees.

Wonderful location, character full house!

  • 4 of 5

The farmhouse was a wonderful place to stay for our (grown up) family. The house is large with lots of living space and tons of character. We especially enjoyed the large kitchen / diner and warming ourselves in front of the aga after trips to the beach! The farmhouse is in a quiet location, near to Tenby and the coastal path and was a great base to explore the area from.

Home from Home!

  • 5 of 5

Although we are not fortunate enough to live in such a characterful farmhouse, our family had a lovely time when we stayed in this interesting holiday home. The kitchen, in particular was the real hub of the farmhouse, with the welsh dresser, the large table and the aga being the focal points! We had nice weather during our stay so could really appreciate the views from the front of the house, including the sheep, in the front field. The games room was hit with everyone, and the games cupboard had everything you'd need for a rainy day. Rob, the owner, was very helpful, so this was appreciated. We even enjoyed the daily visits from their pet dog! Many thanks
