Chalet Pool is a traditional beach-side wooden chalet situated in a beautiful location at Gwithian Towans which is part of the West Cornwall Heritage Site. It directly overlooks St Ives Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, Godrevy Lighthouse, the nature reserve and National Trust land, as well as local hills and farmland. It is a place to relax and take in the outstanding views. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk away and is one of the best surf spots and sandy beaches in the UK. The rockpools are there to explore, and the coastal path lets you experience the habitat of the dunes more fully. Plus - the cafes on the towans, the village pub in Gwithian, and the new seafood bar and grill at Godrevy are all within walking distance too. What more could you want for a stay in Cornwall. It is quite simply idyllic.

The property sleeps 5/6 in 3 bedrooms (2 doubles both with views to the Lighthouse, and 1 single), however a forth single bedroom is available on request and at the owners discretion.

It is a very well equipped chalet, tastefully extended and refurbished ready for 2016 to a high standard, whilst maintaining a home from home feel.

It has a fully enclosed private garden, decked patio area, surf board secure storage, hot/cold outside shower, designated parking for 2 cars, free wifi, TV/DVD, wireless speaker system. There is a large kitchen diner with built in oven, hob, large fridge freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. There is a , separate living room also with views to Godrevy Lighthouse where the patio doors can be widely opened for access onto the decking for added alfresco dining. The landscape is truly a partner with Chalet Pool.

No smoking allowed in the chalet, outbuilding or surrounding gardens. Dogs are accepted by prior agreement.

We can't thank Louise enough for letting us stay in her holiday chalet.

We called her up very last min as we were down Cornwall on holiday already and wanted to stay a few more days. Louise arranged our stay very quickly and smoothly.

The chalet it's self was beautiful. Lovely decor. Clean and tidy. It's was well equipped too.

We loved our stay and have come back refreshed.

I would definitely stay at pool chalet again.

Highly recommended by the Hill family :-)

Fabulous chalet. Superb location.

All in all it was a fantastic experience. Easy to book, responsive and flexible owner and a lovely chalet. We have stayed at a few places at Gwithian Towans and this was our favourite - the location, tranquility and the chalet itself all made for one of our best holidays.

My family and i have often spoke about having a place of our own in Gwithian. Chalet Pool is now just that. It is a place where I holidayed as a child, explored, and then holidayed with our children, more exploring, who now love to come to the Towans as young adults, to chill, as do I. It is a place where all who visit say the scenery is breathtaking, with each month taking on a new dimension of rawness, colour and beauty, be it the waves crashing over the lighthouse, the beach contours, or the colours of dawn over the hills and the sunsets out west. It is a place where memories are made and cherished, and Chalet Pool will be a part of future memories too. It is somewhere different to be a part off, a beautiful place with outstanding views of many landscapes - the sea, Godrevy Lighthouse, St Ives, the horizon, the hills and adjacent farmland. An amazing all round view from the front and back of the property. It is a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday chores and work. Relax, enjoy, chill, love.

Approximate walking distance to Gwithian Beach is 5 minutes across the dunes / coastal path. The chalet is located where there is very little traffic.

Travel:

Approx travel time from London is 6 hours (by car). Exeter 2 hours. Peak summer time will increase these times.

Closest airport is Newquay.

Closest rail station is Hayle / St Erth.

Use of car recommended.

Please contact the owner direct for availability enquiries and the booking procedure. This will include terms and conditions. A deposit of £150 per week will be required to secure the booking, and the final balance will be required 8 weeks before the arrival, or as per the terms and conditions.

An additional payment of £20 is required if dog(s) are to stay in the chalet, and a refundable security/damages deposit of £100 will be required too.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is Saturday, unless otherwise agreed in advance.

The chalet is available from 3pm on the arrival day and must be vacated by 10am on the departure day.

Notes on prices:
2015 price do not include bed linen, towel, beach towels. These can be hired for a small extra cost when notified in advance of stay.

Weekend / short break day rates may be available outside of peak season.

Chalet Pool is conveniently situated on the Towans, within a couple of minutes walk of the dunes and the beach. Gwithian Towans is set within a beautiful location of outstanding natural beauty and is part of three miles of sandy beach that stretches from Godrevy to Hayle. It is an ideal place for families as there are many rock pools to explore, and in the summer season the beach is patrolled by life guards. There is a designated surfing area for those with bigger surf boards, and surf competitions are held from time to time in Gwithian. The dunes are great for dog walking, although beach access is restricted for dogs during certain parts of the day in the summer months. Close by are two lovely cafes (opening times vary during the low season), and a good pub - the Red River Inn.

Notes:

  • The character of the original wooden chalet dating back to the early 1900s (it is one of the original chalets that was relocated from Godrevy to Gwithian as the National Trust took over the headland at Godrevy in early 20th century) is key to the setting, and this has been maintained in the completion of the recent chalet extension and improvements. All in keeping with local architecture, materials and design. Outside: The private garden is fully enclosed and secure with a decked patio area with garden furniture. There is a shed that provides secure storage for surf boards if required. Cleaning / Towels / Linen: At the end of guest's stay, the chalet must be left in a clean state in which it was found to avoid an additional cleaning fee. Bed linen is included in rates. Towels are not included, but can be hired for a small additional fee. A refundable security/damage/loss deposit is required. Full details in the terms & conditions notified at the time of booking.
