Coylton village has pubs and shops, Ayr town (6miles) has sandy beaches and good shopping - Set in the heart of Robert Burns countryside, the cottage is an ideal centre for Golf, walking, fishing and cycling or mountain biking. Country pub at Low Coylton hamlet, serving good meals, within walking distance. Sleeps 7 in 3 or 4 bedrooms (2 extra folding beds available for children if needed) - double, king and twin-bedded rooms (+cot). Large lounge (log fire by arrangement Oct-April) - optional dining room can convert to 4th bedroom. Large kitchen+diner (electric cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine), 2 WC's and shower over bath. Oil Central heating, Double Glazing, HD digital TV + DVD & HDMI, 2 separate kids TV's with large selection of videos & DVD's to watch. CD player, piano. Selection of books and children's indoor and outdoor toys and games. Extensive tourist information. Secure lock-up for bicycles available.
NB. There is no WIFI in the bungalow, but Free 24hr Router access is available in a SEPARATE lounge/apartment a few meters walk from the Bungalow. Bed linen and towels provided. Sue and husband Marshall have lived and worked at Auldbyres Farm for over 30 years.
Our 3 children have left home so we have been welcoming guests to our farm cottage for the past 10 years, many of whom have become 'regulars' and family friends.
The large cottage/bungalow has its own private driveway, with lawned garden and rosebeds, and is secluded by a hedge on 3 sides, but we live just 'next door' and so are on hand in case our help and advice is needed.
We welcome any interest in farming and the countryside and are happy to share our enthusiasms - well behaved children can watch the sheepdog working or feed our free range hens!
Sue is an enthusiastic and knowledgable gardener and keen to show her much admired herbaceous borders to interested guests.

We planned our visit of Scotland about Easter and have looked for a payable lodging for our big family (5 people). First we were a little sceptical, because we love the town life. The reality was the more unexpectedly. The bungalow lies something remotely, but for real natural lover this is the right one. The sea is to be reached at approx. 10 minutes from the bungalow by the car, as well as the shopping possibilities (approx. 7 minutes of drive). We could reach the big towns like Edinburgh and Glasgow comfortably by our hired car. The bungalow with four bedrooms, a sitting room and a big kitchen offered everybody to enough place for us. There was a bathroom and two toilets. The house was well maintained and very clean. The owners were nice really and helpful. We have also got good advice to the leisure activities.
Watch the sunset over the Isle of Arran and you will know you picked the right place. The village of Coylton just down the road for Shops , Chippy , Indian and more . The town of Ayr only 10 minutes away with lovely beaches and lots of day and night activities for everyone . A great week for all the family . Sue made us feel very welcome . Would definitely go back .
My partner and i love visiting auldbyres cottage with its cosy log fire,big garden and leafy countryside walks.
Marshall and Sue always greet us when we arrive and are friendly with a great knowledge of things to do in the local area.
The cottage is large with everything you need to have a comfortable stay.we look forward to having their free range eggs for breakfast and watching the sunset behind the Isle of arran on a clear evening.
We have already booked our stay again for next year!
So much is provided at this holiday home, which is amazingly spacious and welcoming. The touring opportunities from a base here are endless. I loved the views all round, the walks through unspoilt woods and fields, and especially the friendliness of the farming hosts nearby.
Auld Byres Bungalow (on a farm, next to the farmhouse) is at the end of a private road, near the top of a rise and the views over the fields and out towards arran are marvellous. The sky seems very 'big' and the sunsets out over the fields, the sea and the island are extraordinary. The bungalow is large and very well-appointed and there is a spacious garden with plenty of room to run about in, plus all the welcoming acres of the farm. If external trips are needed, the Burns birthplace and museum in Alloway are close, as are Culzean Castle or Ayr town. The horse riding possibilities close by are very good too.

An Authentic Scottish Farm Stay
We fully enjoyed our stay at the Auld Byres bungalow and farm. Quiet, peaceful, and just a very short drive off of the main roads. The owners were extremely pleasant, helpful, and very accommodating. It was clean and private, just a little bit musty and dated (exactly what we expected from an authentic Scottish home), but totally charming and comfortable. Our son loved feeding the chickens and even got a ride on the tractor. It was a great home base for exploring the Aryshire area and Isle of Arran. If we ever come back to this area, we would definitely look to stay here again.

Basic rate is £60 per night, based on 2 persons staying. Each additional person will be from an extra £10 per night
Bookings are accepted by email for exchange of details and quote.
Normally a deposit is required in advance to secure a booking which is £100 per week booked.
The Balance of the total cost will then be payable at least 4 weeks before the access to the rental.
Payment is preferably by BACS or cheque as we have no Card facilities. Online payment may now be possible through this website.
Change-over day is normally a Saturday in Summer months.
We are flexible at other times of the year

Weekly rental prices are a guide only and are often flexible, with lower prices available 'off peak' for singles or a couples, senior citizens etc.
So please give full details of number and ages of your party for a keen quote.
'Minimum Stay' lengths are at the discretion of the Owners - eg. a large party of guests, with multiple bed-occupancy, will be required to rent 5 days or more

- Couples and families are made very welcome - Same-sex groups, under 30's, and work teams may need references - no 'hens' or 'stags' please! Apart from the bathrooms, the bungalow is carpeted throughout, so boots must be left at the door! The bungalow is surrounded by enclosed lawns for safe children's play. The smooth tarmac driveway and road is ideal for bikes and scooters! There is ample garden furniture for summer days. A small kettle-type BBQ is available. There are many attractive walking routes around the farm - bring your wellies! Utility Room: No separate utility room but full facilities for car and bike wash etc next door at the farm. Iron + board and vacuum cleaner in hall cupboard. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and bed linen are included, with laundry done at guest changeover. Guests are asked to keep the property clean and tidy during their stay - cleansing products and vacuum cleaner are supplied. Other: Large front porch and hallway. There are wide, shallow steps up to both front and back doors. The WIFI lounge is freely available at the FARMHOUSE RATES quoted are from £60 per night for 2 people. Each EXTRA guests will be charged £10 per night.
