Bramble at Church Farm

Bramble is on two levels of the characterful barn, beautifully furnished and romantic with its own private patio. There is a large and romantic double bedroom in the eaves with superking bed – en-suite bathroom with bath, shower attachment, basin and toilet– sitting room with sofa, occasional chairs, dining table an.d chairs and music system, flatscreen TV/DVD – kitchen with slate floor and breakfast bar, all the appliances/crockery you’ll need (except washing machine but there is one available for use in the laundry). There is a lovely stone patio overlooking the gardens and surrounding countryside, garden furniture and BBQ. The hot tub is available for shared use.

About the property


Church Farm is located opposite the church in a quiet village called Compton Dundon, near to Street and Glastonbury. The farmhouse is an interesting stone building sitting in well tendered gardens on a hill overlooking the beautiful Somerset countryside. The barn, also in the gardens, has been converted into 2 lovely holiday lets, each for two people and with their own private patios. There is also a new hot tub which is for shared use.

About Caroline Williams

Hello I'm Caroline, my daughter is Chloe, although most of the time she is at University, and we live with Neville and Lottie the cats. We've lived here since July of last year, converting what was a bed and breakfast into holiday lets. We opened in late March and have been very busy since. Still time to do a lot of gardening and playing tennis!

It is such a lovely part of Somerset. The village is nestled in the Polden Hills with great views over the countryside. Walk a little bit further up the hill and the views go right across the Somerset levels. We are also a great touring base for Glastonbury, Street, Wells, Cheddar, Bath, the Coast and many National Trust properties.

What makes this barn unique

A peaceful, beautiful location in a character barn - oh, and a hot tub for extra relaxation! Not too far away from some interesting sightseeing spots and towns such as Glastonbury, Street, and the city of Wells.

Booking Notes:
A deposit of £200 is needed to secure the booking with the balance payable 6 weeks prior to arrival. Payments can be made by cheque or bank transfer. Please ring or email to make your booking.

Changeover Day:
Our preferred changeover day is a Saturday although we can be flexible. Breaks are available from a minimum of three nights.

Notes on prices:
Price are in pounds sterling. Dogs are charged extra £20 a week or part week. Prices include all heating, lighting, bedlinen and towels and use of the hot tub. (Please could you bring your own towels for us outdoors though).

A relaxing and comfortable break! Would recommend

We stayed in the top floor flat - it's nicely decorated, modern and with gorgeous views over the countryside. The flat contains everything you need with assurances that if there's something additional you require then you only need to ask! This flat also has a private outside sitting area and of course the shared use of the hot tub ~ our 'neighbours' weren't using the hot tub so we had unlimited access to it otherwise it's on a rota system. There is only space for one car however just 2 mins walk down the lane there is ample room for additional parking. Although being in a secluded position we felt safe and secure. Caroline lives next door which I felt was reassuring and she is very discreet so you wouldn't even think she was there! Definitely make use of her local knowledge and recommendations as we did and you will not be disappointed! Her welcoming gift of local cider was also greatly received by my husband!

Would definitely recommend and return although we would request the ground floor flat next time only because my husband kept hitting his head on the reduced height of the upstairs property!

Clean and well maintained, everything worked and the accommodation was comfortable.

Lovely situation, short and pleasant country walk to the local, very good pub. Somerton only a few miles away as is Glastonbury, good farm shop style supermarket in Somerton. Good shopping in Street only 2 miles away. Very central for sightseeing, ie Wells, Cheddar, Wookey Hole etc, all in all a good place to base oneself. The only downside was the poor broadband speed, all over Somerset apparently , and no 02 phone coverage at the cottage.

Notes on accommodation: The barn has been converted over the winter so everything is new and pristine for the Spring of 2015. The style is modern country meets shabby chic! There is plenty of privacy and lots of space for guests to enjoy the property. Outside: The gardens are lovely and guests have their own private patios. The hot tub is for shared use and is on it's own patio with fantastic views across the countryside. There are BBQs available.
