Beachfront Apartment, Stunning Sea Views, Peaceful Romantic Retreat For 2

Overview

Property

Updated: 04-Dec-2016
'Beach Side', seafront, one-bedroom, 2 balconies and stunning sea and coastal views. On-site parking and great country and coastal walks from door.

'Beach Side' has been newly refurbished in 2015 with a 'beach hut vibe'. Our spacious one bedroom first-floor apartment, with two large balconies, really is as close to the sea as you can get without getting wet - right on the beach! It has a spacious double aspect bedroom with a king size bed with top quality mattress and bed linen, plenty of storage and large patio balcony with table and chairs leading off via floor to ceiling french windows. The brand new bathroom is designed in a nautical theme and has a fabulous slipper bath for relaxing with a glass of wine, a large walk in shower cubicle, wc, basin, heated towel rail and plenty of storage. The brand new kitchen has views of the sea and coastal footpath. The simple white cabinets and shelving with wooden work surfaces have a 'beach shack' casual vibe, but all the modern conveniences are provided, dishwasher, gas hob, electric over, large fridge/freezer, wine rack, and wash/dryer. With the light pouring in and the sound of the sea through the open window and plenty of kitchen gadgets, crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots and pans etc rustling up a meal in here is a pleasure, not a chore! The double aspect sea-facing lounge at Beach Side has panoramic sea views through floor to ceiling windows which open out onto the seafront balcony. Light pours into the apartment from all windows, bouncing off the sea in front. From here you will be able to enjoy stunning sunsets over the sea with a glass of wine in hand or have breakfast watching the sun come up over the sea. Enjoy long balmy summer's evenings on the large seafront balcony furnished with sun loungers and table and chairs for alfresco dining. You will spend many hours just watching the activity in the water - wind surfers, kayakers, swimmers, yachts and in July 2015 a pod of dolphins were spotted in the sea just outside the apartment! On winter evenings enjoy snuggling up on the leather sofa or in the armchair watching the flat-screen TV or enjoying one of our library of DVDs. Or perhaps you prefer to read a book from our selection, play a board game, do a jigsaw or surf the internet (free WiFi!), or retreat to the bathroom to wallow in the slipper bath before bedtime! If you get bored with soaking up the sun and the sea views on the two terrace balconies (never!) you will find plenty to see and do on the Island which is renowned for its 'laid-back' friendly atmosphere and old world charm. Visit unspoilt villages, fine seaside resorts, walk beautiful coastal scenery visiting unspoilt beaches, take a fishing trip, enjoy water sports or visit a local restaurant to eat locally caught fresh seafood. Beach Side is situated in the iconic building next to the Life Boat Station know as Tennysons View. Explore the Island's varied places of historical interest - the dinosaur excavation sites dating back 120 million years, the Roman Villas at Newport and Brading, Carisbrooke Castle where Charles 1 was imprisoned and, of course the magnificent Osborne House the favourite country home and retreat of Queen Victoria. I keep a folder of local attractions at the apartment and you will also find guide books and books detailing local walks on the bookshelf in the apartment. Steam enthusiasts will love to travel on the steam railway at Havenstreet and you will also find a Bus Museum on the island. You will also not want to miss the famous landmarks of the Needles, Tennysons Monument and Alum Chine as well as the yachting mecca of West Cowes. Ventnor, Shanklin, Sandown, Bonchurch, Yarmouth, Newport, Godshill and Ryde will also be on your list of places to see.

There are many high quality restaurants on the Island to enjoy as well as some excellent value eating establishments and pubs. I keep a list of suggestions at the apartment to browse through. Perhaps you are coming to the Island to enjoy one of our many 'festivals' which include Cowes Week, Walk the Wight, Cycle the Wight, IOW Pop Festival, Bestival, the Old Gaffers Festival, the Garlic Festival and the Tall Ships Festival. The IOW Zoo is also popular, as is Monkey World, Amazon World, Dimbola Lodge, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, IOW Pearl and IOW Glass - something for everyone to enjoy.

Freshwater Bay is truly unspoilt and is featured on IOW calendars and advertising literature as it is the iconic image of the Isle of Wight and we are truly blessed to be able to enjoy owning, and sharing, our wonderful self-catering apartment on the beach. We know you will love the apartment and the Bay as much as we do.

We also have a two bedroom/two bathroom apartment in the same stunning location. Bay Side is property number 1851330 - please take a look at the details on this website.

Whichever of our two apartments you choose you will be assured of a warm welcome, a peaceful and relaxing holiday, stunning panoramic sea and beach views and everything you need for a great self-catering break 'by the sea'.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

Outstanding detail shown by the owners from the moment you open the door to find welcome gifts and card to the quality and thought that has gone into the whole apartment. The view is breathtaking and with the sound of the sea relaxing you from the moment you open the double doors what more could you ask from a holiday. We have had the most enjoyable week here, spending time on the beach and visiting different parts of the island, but knowing we would be coming back to a very comfortable apartment at the end of the day. The bed was so comfortable. Highly recommend this apartment for those seeking relaxation and those who wish to walk and visit different areas of the island.

Beautiful apartment, amazing views

  • 5 of 5

We were looking forward to our stay on the Isle of Wight and this apartment did not let us down. From the moment we walked in and saw the welcome signs and goodies, to the amazing views, and the overall luxury and cleanliness of the apartment, our expectations were not just met but exceeded. Sitting on the balcony, looking out at the sea was a particular delight and we were lucky to have such good weather. There is everything - and more - that you need for a very enjoyable and luxurious holiday.

Fantastic luxury apartment with amazing views!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Beach Side in Freshwater for 10 days having not been to the Isle of Wight since school days some twenty years prior. Freshwater Bay and this side of the island generally are by far the most unspoilt and scenic. The apartment itself has been finished to a high standard and has a luxurious and relaxed feel. The owners have also gone to great lengths to ensure it is very well equipped and catered for all our needs. The views from the apartment are what really made our stay perfect. To be able to wake up each morning and enjoy breakfast on the balcony whilst listening to the waves rolling in is what a holiday is all about. Communication with the owners was faultless and we couldn't have asked for more. If your planning a break on the Isle of Wight then you will struggle to find better in my opinion. Great location for walking and if you catch the ferry from Lymington then its only a 15 minute drive to the property. Lymington ferry has the advantage of being the shortest crossing and you also drive through the New Forest which is a great way to start and finish your holiday.

Lovely apartment overlooking the sea.

  • 5 of 5

Beach side apartment exceeded our expectations. Spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with everything you might need for a relaxing holiday. Peaceful location with quiet beach and coastal walks. Lots to see and do on the IOW. Freshwater is a great base to explore from. The owners provided excellent customer service and were very helpful. I would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone. We had a fantastic holiday!

Location

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The beach and sea are just a few feet away from Beach Side - you couldn't be any closer - no road between you and the beach (the google map is slightly wrong and should show the location as being right on the beach - not across the road from it!). Swimming in the bay is very popular in the summer as is kayaking and on windy days the surfers are out in force in the Bay and the kite flyers. Just along the coast is Compton Bay from which you can enjoy wind surfing etc (or just watching from the beach with a picnic). Freshwater Bay Lifeboat Station is next door to our building so you can watch the lifeboat launch practice on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings.

Travel:

Nearest ferry Lymington/Yarmouth

Nearest airport Southampton

Distances:

Just a short stroll from Beach Side you will find a pub, coffee shop and tea room, Dimbola Lodge (vegetarian cafe), Freshwater Bay Golf Course and small grocery store. Freshwater Town is within about half a mile where you will find shops, Leisure centre, supermarkets, pubs, bank, takeaways etc. There is a bus stop in the Bay which gives access to most parts of the Island.

The Island has many tourist attractions and all are accessible from the apartment. The open top bus also passes outside which is the perfect way to spend a day out and about.

The Island plays hosts to many festivals, fetes, sailing regattas and carnivals. Look at the Isle of Wight tourism website for the dates of popular events such as Cowes Week, Round the Island yacht race, The Old Gaffers Festival, Walk the Wight, Cycle the Wight, Osbourne House Concerts, the Garlic Festival and many more.

Many thanks. Lesley

The refundable security deposit is £150. Payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer or Paypal. Please note that we also have a two bedroom beachfront property in the same building (Bay Side - property no. 733892). Bay Side is suitable for couples sharing, families with older children (over 12 years) or for those with mobility problems requiring ground-floor accommodation. Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Beach Side is perfect for couples - sorry we cannot accept pets or children. Ideal for a relaxing and peaceful holiday 'away from it all' to treat yourselves or indeed for a romantic break or celebration. The apartment is triple glazed making for a comfortable stay and for the winter months we have central heating and a small fire tucked in the corner to snuggle in front of. The accommodation is on the first floor and is spacious, bright and airy. We provide everything you need for self-catering in the kitchen. The furnishings are top quality with comfort in mind (we use the apartment ourselves!) and you will find books, jigsaws, DVDs, CDs and boardgames to enjoy. The location is truly 'special' and we should know - we have two apartments in the same building! Our other apartment (Bay Side, also advertised on this website property no E12100) is on the ground floor and has two bedrooms. Outside: Beach Side has two large terrace balconies. One is off the bedroom and has table and chairs and views of the coastline. The other balcony terrace is off the lounge and has stunning panoramic sea views. Here you will find two sun loungers with a table and a table and chairs for alfresco dining. The perfect place to spend your holiday! Beach Side also has an allocated parking bay in the on-site car park. If you wish to leave the car and travel the Island by bus there is a convenient bus stop in the bay. Utility Room: Our utility cupboard contains iron, ironing board, clothes dryer rack, vacuum cleaner, broom, dustpan and brush, mop, picnic set, torch, cushions for outside furniture etc. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We provide one hand towel and one bath towel per person with a change of linens after 7 nights. 2 bathrobes are also provided for guest use. The bed is dressed with fresh linens, duvet, throw, and 4 pillows (feather free).
