We had a wonderful weekend at st Hilda's terrace. The house is amazing with beautiful decor and furnishings throughout. We stayed for our daughters 30th birthday with friends and family and we had plenty of space for everyone. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The location is superb just 3 min walk and your in the hustle and bustle of Whitby. I can't recommend this house enough and we will definitely be returning .

Owner's Response: I am so glad you liked St Hilda's and found your way around, it's great to have a park opposite the house when you have children especially. Close to cafes bars and restaurants, small independent shops selling local produce and a fantastic butchers. There is so much to see in Whitby and we would like to thank you for choosing to stay with us and hope to see you again soon.

Fabulous, imposing, wonderfully presented house.

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautifully presented and well equipped. The layout of the property suited us, providing different areas for each of us to do our own activities and with plenty of space for us to dine together and play games in the lounge area. As a large family we enjoy cooking and eating together, in terms of equipment and dinnerware, there was nothing we couldn't find. The bedrooms were beautifully presented and the whole house was heated adequately. The close proximity to town was excellent, we walked over a disused railway track which is close to the house to Robin Hoods Bay. My 12 year old nephew has voted that we ditch our annual Center Parcs pre Christmas break next year and return to St Hildas.....seems we will be back!

18 St Hildas

We adored St Hilda's, the house was absolutely amazing and the attention to detail took it to another level. The location was central and close to the town centre, yet was also peaceful and the garden was a bonus. We will definitely be back!

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

This is by far the best place we have stayed in Whitby (we have between us stayed in over a dozen different Whitby cottages over the years). We found the property immaculately presented, tastefully decorated with quality furnishings and well equipped with everything you might need for a self catering holiday. There's plenty of space- Ideal for a family get together, we used the huge kitchen and lounge to host a murder mystery dinner party. The spacious rooms mean that you won't feel cooped up if you decide to stay in or if the weather is bad. It's an easy walk to town, the beach and all the other attractions and its easy to park at the property (this is invaluable in Whitby). I particularly enjoyed the bath with the view! We really enjoyed our week and were made to feel very welcome on our arrival. The only point to note is that there are a lot of stairs and steps between the bedrooms and bathrooms and down to the kitchen so probably not suitable for those with mobility problems.

Owner's Response: Thank you James for the lovely review, yes there are great views from the St Hildas house, so pleased you had a wonderful break the location is spectacular especially when you visit the harbour and Pannett Park, so close to the beach. Point taken about all the stairs and not mobility friendly. Any visitors with mobility issues need to contact us prior to booking, we even suggest a visit to the house first. Hope to see you and the family again soon.

A great family get together.

We had a lovely week. Six adults, four little boys and a toddler. The spacious well equipped house was a joy, especially as the weather had not been kind to us.

Location

From the Owner

Initially we were searching for a property to let in the North Yorkshire Region. We were on holiday locally and spotted 18 St. Hilda’s Terrace was for sale. On viewing the property we loved it and we saw the potential the house had to offer. We felt the layout of the property and large rooms lent itself to modern living and easily allows for twelve people to stay comfortably and still enjoy the space. The property is located in central Whitby overlooking Pannett Park, with glimpses of the Abbey, the harbour and fantastic views of the moors. The picturesque town of Whitby has remained unspoiled yet offers something for everyone all year round.

Facilities

From the Owner

The house is a Grade II* listed Georgian property. We are one of a selected number in the area that has attained the Visit England Five Star Gold standard, of which we are very proud. Whitby is busy all year round and as an historic town has limited parking. At the rear of the property there is a single garage, on street parking for one vehicle and a public car park 100 meters further along the terrace. The great location places the house within 10 minutes walking distance of the beach, the harbour and the main high street. At the end of the terrace, less than a 5 minute walk, is Skinner Street with numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and independent shops.
