Perfect location for Padstow and surrounding areas

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable converted barn with all the facilities you would want. Situated just outside Padstow in the countryside with a farm setting. Alan the owner could not have been mare accommodating giving us pointers to where we should visit. It's always useful to get this advice from a local. Grand children enjoyed the two dogs Quinn and Max. Even though the weather was terrible we enjoyed ourselves visiting the local beaches and eating at Rick Stein's eateries, the Cornish arms being our favourite. The lost gardens of Helgan and Tintagel are a must visit. The camel trail also. Our week went very quickly. Thanks Alan for providing the perfect venue for our stay.

Lovely property in a great location to explore the area.

  • 5 of 5

We visited as three adult couples and a baby and had a lovely time. The house is well equipped so that you can cook as required and the washing machine was very useful. A beautiful peaceful location yet only 5 minutes drive into Padstow and near to a large Tesco. A great base for exploring the stunning local beaches and also going further afield to St Ives and Penzance. We had a great holiday and I would highly recommend the Long Barn and we hope to go back.

A lovely get away

  • 5 of 5

An idyllic spot and a lovely peaceful house was our base for exploring both the area around Padstow and touring and visiting the fishing villages and coastal walks throughout Cornwall.

Friendly and helpful host and neighbors .

It is somewhat isolated - a benefit for us - not for everyone. You can't just meander into and around Padstow - it's a short drive (10 minutes) but on the other hand there's space (and parking space) around the house that probably wouldn't be the case in town. We loved it.

Lovely barn conversion in ideal location close to Padstow

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the end September - beginning of October 2016 and the property was ideally situated for Padstow and the surrounding area. The barn was very well equipped and comfortable and felt like a home from home. The owners were very helpful when we arrived and in the barn were plenty of maps and pamphlets on local attractions and restaurants. The barn was very clean and tidy and nicely furnished situated in a quiet spot with a few other properties nearby. I liked the layout with the three bedrooms downstairs with the kitchen and lounge upstairs making great use of the space.

We chose to visit the Eden Project on the day we were expecting rain and took about half an hour to drive there. We had visited Cornwall quite a few times and never got round to visiting Eden before so glad we went.

On another day we cycled the Camel Trail from Padstow to Wadebridge return. We found a tiny cafe in Wadebridge called the Shed and had a lovely cream tea and ciabattas.

We visited Polzeath and Port Isaac and local beach of Harlyn Bay and luckily the weather was lovely for the time of year.

We liked the Cornish Arms (Rick Stein) in St Merryn, thought the Rick Stein chippie takeaway a little overrated (sorry). If you're paying £35 for four meals, it really needs to be top quality.

In summary, I would definitely recommend this property to family and friends and say how much we enjoyed staying here.

Within 10 minutes driving are the five fabulous beaches surrounding Trevose head. All are stunning sandy beaches offering lifeguarded swimming areas as well as excellent surfing. For calmer conditions choose one of the sheltered beaches on the Camel estuary leading towards Padstow.

This area is a delight for water sports enthusiasts. Sailing and waterskiing are very popular on the Camel estuary. Padstow sailing club is nearby where temporary membership is available.

Newquay airport is 20 minutes driving time from the property. The ferry port of Plymouth is within 40 miles.

Due to the rural nature of the property a car is highly recommended although bus services do run from the bus stop a five minute walk away.

Padstow with harbour, great restaurants, shops and camel trail cycle route is less than 4 miles away.

Within 5 miles are the superb Atlantic beaches of Treyarnon, Constantine, Boobys, Harlyn and Trevone.

Retallack resort and spa offers wake boarding, a spa, indoor pool and flowrider and is 5.5 miles away.
