About Alan Roberson

We have both been teaching in a local primary school and are now retired.

Our children are all grown up and spread around the country so the plan is to tour the UK and Europe with our caravan.

Alan Roberson purchased this cottage in 2000

Why Alan Roberson chose Saint Ervan

A delightful rural location yet close enough to beaches and the Camel estuary for all the watersports we both enjoy.

Wonderful stay at this cosy cottage !

  • 5 of 5

We had a really great time at this cottage and everything was simply perfect. There's lots of space and rooms and all are well equiped so nothing is missing. Nearby is a lot to explore, especially the endless beaches and the Coast Path trail as well as nice towns with all kind of shops. We also had lots of fun with the two dogs on the premise. A clear recommendation at the heart of Cornwall!

Beautiful character barn conversion. Comfortable and homely. Excellent location. Highly recommend.

  • 5 of 5

Loved the property from first arrival. Very beautiful home. Owners and family close to hand with ANY quiery. Good for those with children and well behaved dogs. There are freindly dogs nearby who got on well with our retriever cross. Location is within easy access to beaches and local sightseeing. Eden Project and Falmouth about an hours drive away to give an idea of distance. However Padstow and the North coast are within 10 minutes and we mostly stayed locally as the weather was good so made the most of coastal and Camel Eastuary walking.

Stunning home and environment

  • 4 of 5

We recently stayed at the Long Barn and can highly recommend this stunning home and farm environment to anyone looking to have a relaxing and family friendly home. We are sorry that we did not bring our dogs with us as Alan and his family welcome dogs, which would have completed our stay. The Long Barn is beautiful with its "upside down" lay out ( bedrooms are down stairs and living area upstairs) this works so well and we spent a few evenings enjoying this warm family home. The placement of the Long Barn was perfect for us as it is not far from Padstow and the 7 beautiful beaches. We highly recommend the Long Barn and hope to go again next year

A relaxing get away from it all holiday!

  • 5 of 5

Another great week! The weather wasn't so kind to us, but we had so much fun as there's plenty to do in the surrounding areas. The owner was welcoming, and our dog made great friends with Quinn, Buddy and Max! The home was clean and well stocked, lots of books and dvds, but we were mostly out and about. It's very homely and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Would recommend!

Coast/Beach:

Within 10 minutes driving are the five fabulous beaches surrounding Trevose head. All are stunning sandy beaches offering lifeguarded swimming areas as well as excellent surfing. For calmer conditions choose one of the sheltered beaches on the Camel estuary leading towards Padstow.

This area is a delight for water sports enthusiasts. Sailing and waterskiing are very popular on the Camel estuary. Padstow sailing club is nearby where temporary membership is available.

Travel:

Newquay airport is 20 minutes driving time from the property. The ferry port of Plymouth is within 40 miles.

Due to the rural nature of the property a car is highly recommended although bus services do run from the bus stop a five minute walk away.

Distances:

Padstow with harbour, great restaurants, shops and camel trail cycle route is less than 4 miles away.

Within 5 miles are the superb Atlantic beaches of Treyarnon, Constantine, Boobys, Harlyn and Trevone.

Retallack resort and spa offers wake boarding, a spa, indoor pool and flowrider and is 5.5 miles away.
