Beach Cottage has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large kitchen with breakfast bench with a stunning sea view, large combined living and dinging room with wood burning stove and a desk with a view to the harbour. The cottage is located right on the beach with a lawn out front which is part of the dunes and the coastal path. You literally could not be closer to the beach. Beach Cottage welcomes well behaved dogs. There is wifi throughout, an Alexa and Smart TVs in the living room, master bedroom and double bedroom. Kitchen has a large dishwasher, Smeg oven, retro Smeg fridge, induction hob and combined washer/dryer. The Owner was born in Glasgow and spent all her summer holidays in Elie. She studied in Edinburgh and has lived in Belgium, France and in Sydney, Australia (for 9 years).

Why Eilidh Mactaggart chose Fife & St Andrews

The owner grew up going to Elie for holidays and she used to dream of one day owning Beach Cottage. After three years of looking for a house to buy in the village, Beach Cottage (or Sandford Cottage as it was previously known) came on to the market. It had been neglected for years and was a labour of love (aka renovation nightmare/money pitt!) for over two years, with the owner saving the cottage from falling down around her (some walls actually did fall in!). She hopes you love Beach Cottage as much as she does.

Notes on accommodation: Well behaved children and dogs considered, please contact us to confirm the make-up of your group. Additional cleaning charge applies for your doggie friends. Unfortunately no cats as the owner is extremely allergic (sorry!). Individual electric heaters, set on timers and work like a central heating system. House is well insulated and easy to heat up and keep warm. Wood burning stove in the living room. Travel cot (guests to bring own cot linen) and high chair can be provided. Outside: Walled front garden with table and seating for six. Patio back garden with large Weber barbecue and seating. A sheltered sun trap when the wind is blowing. No parking on site, parking spaces available on Glovers Wynd, Earlsferry High Street, edge of the golf course at the end of Earlsferry High Street. Parking spaces are as little as 25m-150m walk from the property depending on where you park your car. Area of grass in front of house can be used for dropping off luggage on arrival and departure only (ten minutes). Please note that this area is otherwise 'no parking' and this is strictly enforced. Utility Room: Porch with shelves for shoes, stool, hanging hooks, wellie boot jack Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: One large bath towel and one small hand towel per guest supplied, plus bath mats and hand towels for each bathroom. A supply of kitchen towels is also provided. Please bring your own beach towels. Other: WiFi throughout with booster in master bedroom. Smart TVs wired to main router in master bedroom and living room. Electric heaters throughout, set on timers to act as central heating. Property is double glazed and well insulated so cosy and warm.

Perfect Location for Relaxation

As others have said, Beach Cottage has pretty much the best location in Elie/Earlsferry, with a sweeping view of the bay. A dozen steps from the front gate and you're on the beach. A walk along the shoreline to the Ship Inn is equally attractive on a blustery day as it is on a sunny afternoon. The cottage itself has been refurbished and decorated with a real eye for design, with a contemporary seaside vibe. The beds are comfortable, the technology efficient, and the kitchen and bathrooms very well-equipped - have a long soak in the enormous bath. At night, the log-burning stove keeps the cottage cosy and you will fall asleep to the soporific sound of the waves rolling onto the beach. There's plenty to do in and around Elie, but returning to Beach Cottage each day you will truly feel relaxed.

Delightful week in Beach Cottage

We (my wife and I and two kids (13 and 16)) had a wonderful week in Beach Cottage in August 2015. The property is finished to a really high standard and when combined with it's perfect location makes for a fantastic holiday property. We'd staying in Elie/Earlsferry before so knew all about the stunning beach, sports club, water sports centre, shops, pubs and opportunites for walking and visiting the local fishing villages but Beach Cottage really made our stay this time very special. We're definitely aiming to return when we can.

Idyllic beach cottage

We loved Beach Cottage. It is small but perfectly formed! Eilidh has done it up beautifully with lots of personal touches that make it comfortable and give it character. The location is great - at the quiet end of the village, out of the door and straight onto the beach, lovely deli for food shopping, and pubs to walk to.

Standard Rate: £200 per night with a minimum 3 night stay.
Low season (winter excluding Christmas and New Year): £175 per night minimum 2 night stay.
Summer: £250 per night, we prefer bookings of 7 nights or more. However please check with us as it may just work between our own use and other guests use. Preferred check out day for week long bookings is a Sunday. However, again we may be able to juggle things so please ask.

Please note that I do not discount these rates and they reflect the high standard of finish and accommodation, unique and prime location of the property. Generally I do not proceed with bookings from those requesting discounts as the property is very popular and easily filled. The property is my second home first and a holiday let second.

Damage Deposit (refundable subject to check out and damage inventory): GBP350, we may request a higher deposit for guests with dogs (GBP500). When enquiring please include details of your party.

Booking contract to be signed and returned before booking accepted. Property sleeps a maximum of 6. Well behaved dogs welcome, but must be declared at booking and agreed with the owner in advance (additional security deposit may be required).
