All apartments are situated in "The Courtyard" in Monte Duquesa, a desirable location with its pretty square, cafe bars and shops. It's just a 5-7 minute walk down to the stunning Marina with an abundance of fine bars, excellent restaurants, shops and beaches. We are also situated next to Duquesa Golf course.

All apartments have been refurbished, spacious modern apartment enjoys a south-west facing aspect and is located on the first floor. The lounge-dining area is very spacious and light with an open fireplace. The terrace is accessed via the lounge. The apartment has FREE WIFI / AIR CONDITIONING and UK TV/SKY CHANNELS.

Puerto de la Duquesa really is one of the Costa del Sol's best marinas. Although within easy reach of the airports of Malaga (60 minutes) and Gibraltar (45 minutes). La Duquesa seems like a thousand miles away from the throng of the holiday resorts.

La Duquesa enjoys an advantageous location to the west of Marbella ­ sometimes called "the Other Costa del Sol". The area retains a vast amount of unspoiled natural scenery and authentic local character - while sharing the fantastic climate and all the excellent services and infrastructure of the rest of the Costa del Sol. Duquesa is an ideal balance of relaxed living with easy access to every imaginable amenity.

The beautiful port of La Duquesa offers full Marina services for boating enthusiasts as well as a myriad of attractions for those with no aspirations to take to the water. For those that do a number of companies offer Jet Ski, Wake Board, Boat trips and Scuba Diving. The attractive promenades encircling the port offer a variety of restaurants, intimate bars and cafes in which to while away the days.


On the east side (Muelle de Levante) a number of cafe bars face the Marina and due to the afternoon sun it makes a very pleasant place to have a snack or a drink and watch the world go by.

In the main complex there are a number of bars. Bar La Fuente, CJ-s family bar, Leisure Lounge, Jolly Saylor, Ryders, Cork Tree, Kinsale, Deja Vu, Hemmingways, Penguin to make just a few.


The vast choice of eating options include French, Italian, Chinese, Indian, Thai and of course Spanish with its fresh local fish. Here is a selection: La Traviota (Grill Bistro), Tim's (Fish and Chips), Cenachero de la Duquesa (Spanish) Taj Majal (Indian) Sabor Toscano, Il Capitano, Ciao, Parapiro (Italian), Victoria Grill (Argentinian), Kinnaree (Thai), Griffins, The Pergola, Kinsale.


Many of the the bars and restaurants mentioned open late in the summer months. Later music bars include Rojo47 and Bojangles disco,


In the summer weekend evenings the port hosts a unique Crafts Market, popular with the local residents as well as visitors.


Business Centre, apartment rental, yachting chandlers, banks, Laundry and dry cleaners, internet cafe, telephone call centre, mini supermarkets and newsagents.


La Duquesa Golf and Country Club boasts an 18 hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr.


On both sides of Duquesa Marina there is a beach with Chiringuito's (Beach Restuaraunts) Playa de las Gaviotas and Playa del Castillo to the west with Chiringuito Las Gaviotas open in the summer. On Playa Sabillias to the east is a beach bar called Cubanga which is open all year round.


There is generally ample parking in one of the three open free car parks or in the street at the back of the shops. In the summer underground parking in the Mykonos building will be worth the 2 euro investment.


Manilva Town hall operate a tourist office (Tel: +34 952 89 74 34) at the entrance to the port open all year Mon to Fri 08.30 to 20.00 and Sat 08.30 to 14.00). The marina is run by a company called Marinas del Meditarraneo and the port office is in the Torre de Control at the end of the west pier (Muelle de Poniente). This is where the recycling depo is located. They offer a wifi service for a fee as well as many of the bars. Bicycles are available for hire.


A short walk to the west of Puerto de la Duquesa is the little fishing hamlet of Castillo de la Duquesa from which the marina gets its name. The castle built in 1767 can be visited and is often used for local exhibitions. Nearby are largely unexcavated Roman ruins. In the hamlet are a number of bars and restaurants.

A short walk to the east is the fishing village of Sabinillas. A seafront promenade makes a pleasant walk.

Rising virtually from the beaches, in the mountains are the famed white villages of Manilva, Casares, and Gaucinare all within an hours drive.

Cosmopolitan life can be found only twenty minutes away in the "jet-set" city of Marbella with its shopping experiences ranging from the El Corte Inglés and to the sprawling La Cañada centre to the infinite variety of small shops and boutiques lining the cobble-stoned streets of Old Marbella.

My history with Duquesa began 18 months ago when I fell in love with the area and the port. After a short stay I decided to buy my first property and spent 8 weeks refurbishing the apartment and giving it a light and modern holiday feel. I decided to rent out the apartment and started to take bookings. Following the first season and a raft of very positive reviews started to come in, I decided to expand my existing UK property portfolio into sunny Southern Spain.

Work has just been completed on my 3rd apartment and I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the holiday makers who have stayed in my apartment and who have since become friends. I love to meet new people and I am very passionate about the property development I am undertaking in this beautiful part of Spain a combination that I believe contributes to the success I am currently enjoying here in Duquesa.

the Square, Monte Duquesa

Hello Greg, just to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at the Square in Monte Duquesa, set high on a hill above the port of La Duquesa. The flat was really superbe, very well equipped with everything we might need, very clean and Trish, the owner of Kelly's bar and manager of the property, while we were there, was extremely helpful..

The port / marina is lovely, choice of restaurants, / tapas bars, wonderful and all within a ten minute walk., OK going down the steep hill, and very good exercise coming back up, tho' there was always a taxi available.

A really great area with lots to see and do, from Gibraltar and Tarifa to the west and Estepona to the east, for days out exploring.

The flat is situated directly above Kelly's bar, which was quite noisy most of the day, being very popular, even at breakfast time, and may be even noisier in the high season.

This flat is more suited to adults rather than a family with children, as a car would probably be needed to get to the beach, and parking at the square was limited even during jan / feb., a quieter time with less local population.

Perfect location and great on site facilities

We came for a girls weekend to celebrate a 40th. Everything we needed was close by. This included the taxi transfer from the airport, bar underneath the apartment and a short walk to nearby shops and restaurants

The best sandy beaches are within 400m a short 5 minute stroll away with beach chiringuitos serving fresh local foods. Duquesa Marina is bustling with life all day long with waterside bars and cafes open all day. It also hosts a variety of restaurants.


Malaga airport is 45 minutes by car, Gibraltar 25 minutes and Jerez about 1.5hrs. These airports are easily reached from the UK by budget airlines including Thomsonfly, Easyjet and Monarch. The flight time is approximately 2.5 hours. La Duquesa is accessible by main coastal roads or take the new toll road which will get you to your destination quicker. A car is recommended but not essential as all Duquesa amenities are within walking distance.
