Villetta With Private Pool And Stunning Lake Views

Overview

Property

Villa in Pulciano, Lake Garda, Lombardy / Italian Lakes, Italy - 10-15 Minute Walk To Town And The Beach

Villa Tosca stands in the hills behind Toscolano Maderno looking out onto splendid lake views. Within 10-15 minute walk to the town of Toscolano, with its shops, restaurants, bars, beaches and ferry port. The villa sleeps 6 in 3 small double bedrooms and one bathroom, with a living and dining area that looks over the lake, and a separate eat in kitchen with all the major and minor appliances, including espresso coffee machine. Outside there are terraced gardens with a covered outdoor eating area and built in wood barbecue (with wood pile for guest use), and a beautiful new pool area with a shaded portico to the side, great for playing and relaxing, and sun loungers by the pool for soaking up the sun. The pool is equipped with a remote control operated solar blanket, for warmer water even in the late spring and early autumn months. There is another bathroom by the pool as well as an outdoor shower. From the front door, walk down the pedestrian paths straight the centre of Toscolano, where you will find a great choice of Osteria, Restaurants, Pizzerias, and some great "locale" with live music, as well as supermarkets, shops, and bars. Take the ferry from the port in Toscolano direct to Malcesine, or from the port in Maderno, 1km up the road, any other port on the lake. Or walk up the same pedestrian path, and in a few minutes you are at the beautiful medieval church of Gaino, a great site to visit and also a fun spot for kids to play. Just a few hundred metres up the road, and you are in the centre of the tiny village of Pulciano, where there is gelateria famous throughout this area for fantastic ice cream sundaes, that you can eat outside on the terrace with lake view. The villa, though small and older, is completely independent -- no neighbours, and the pool and garden are completely private. It is a great location for a single family to pass a comfortable and fun holiday. Parking for 2 cars in the secure garage. WiFi included.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS

  • 5 of 5

Superb property which has been excellently maintained. Met on arrival and shown all around the property. Slight hiccup with the pool temperature but the team were immediately on hand to rectify. Views from the property are outstanding. Small comforts such as electric remote garage doors and pool cover just dotted the "i"'s, if you are fortunate enough to stay here you will see what I mean. Thoroughly recommended .

About Toscolano Maderno:

The Story of Toscolano Maderno Many tourists are attracted by its large and beautiful beaches and by its mile long beach promenade, but Toscolano Maderno has also many interesting monuments including:

- the Church of Sant'Andrea from the 12th century is one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches in northern Italy. The Christian builders reused many of the building blocks from the original ancient roman temple. See if you can spot the pagan carvings in the stones, turned upside down to defuse the pagan magic! Located on the lungo lago in the centre of Maderno.

- the Church of San Pietro e Paolo, in Toscolano, was built in the

Renaissance style of the 16th century and has 22 paintings by the famous venetian painter Andrea Celesti. Located on the main road, just by the paper factory. Behind it, going towards the lake on the left, you will find the remains of the Roman Villa mentioned below.

- The tiny Church of San Michele in Gaino is a lovely destination for an relaxing nature hike, served with walking trails that lead right to it, the church is in a breathtaking spot on the crest of the mountain, with absolutely stunning lake views in every direction.

- the remains of the Roman Villa, thought to be built by Publius Nonius Asprenate in 38 AD. Although the area hasn't been fully excavated yet, and it is not yet a public tourist site, archaeologists have found evidence of a variety of buildings through the area, and have uncovered tombstones, mosaics and fragments of some frescos which you can see from outside the fences. Just behind the church of san Pietro and san Paolo, on the left of the parking lot going down towards the paper factory and the lake. the Valle delle Cartiere (the valley of the paper mills) a wonderful sight along the river Toscolano. It is not only a Nature Park

but also one of the most important industrial archaeological sites of Europe, famous for its paper production since the early

1500s. The paper factory is now a complete ghost town, in an extraordinary natural context. Stop first at the museum in the

largest old mill, and then follow the river upstream passing the ruins of other old paper mills to see the wild and romantic

gorge that offers swimming and a fly fishing opportunities. The paths can be followed on foot or bicycle only.

Located in a sunny spot on the Toscolano river delta, Toscolano Maderno settles on a vast headland at the foot of Monte

Pizzoccolo (1582 m) and Monte Castello di Gaino (866m). Once two towns, Toscolano and Maderno are now united into

a single city. There many places of interest including ancient Roman ruins and the duomo built on the original site of a

ancient Roman Temple. All of Toscolano was once a single roman country estate for a patrician family from Rome, and

Roman remnants can be seen in the most unusual places.
